Microsoft have asked us to find 10 Mumsnetters to test out Nokia Lumia 735, Xbox One Console with Kinect and a Linx tablet (total RRP ~£750).

Here’s what Microsoft’s marketing manager says, “As a marketing manager for Microsoft and mum of 2 boys, I know that things at home and at work can get pretty busy – especially this time of year with present buying, decorating the house, nativity play outfits, pantomimes……you know the rest :-). That is why we wanted to show you the collective power of some of these Microsoft products and how they can be used for the whole family. We would like to find families that can try out a Nokia Lumia phone, XBox One console and one of the new very affordable Linx tablets. All of these work together in a way that your family’s life can be fun and organised, productive and producing lots of laughs.”

This product test is open to UK Mumsnetters who have at least two children age between 5-15.

Testers will need to be available to attend an event in Victoria, London on Tuesday 16th December between 10-12:30 to learn how to get most out of all the products and how to use them together.

Testers will each receive:

  • Nokia Lumia 735
  • Xbox One Console with Kinect + 12 month Xbox Live subscription + Project Spark game
  • Linx tablet (7 will receive the 8" tablet and and 3 testers will receive the 10" tablet)

Testers will be required to add their feedback on the products on three separate feedback threads onsite. So long as you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the products.

Thanks and good luck

Does one get to keep the things? Or do they need to be returned after testing?

Yeah - but if you get the bus down taking god knows how long, how are you going to put the kids to school and pick them up after?

oopps I said no to London - can't they do a podcast/ secret youtube vid to allow UK wide testers?

My boys would love this but they are at school and ds4 is performing his nativity that day, he has s main role so can't miss it!

Shame as it would be fab.

Surely they aren't expecting the children to go to London? Can't see it being given as an authorised absence!

I have signed up and optimistically changed my name specially so I can give feedback and be filmed without worrying about outing myself

DD is off school that day, so she could come too - or not as required.

Spoke to DH, he reckons a day out in London would be nice, so I've applied after all.
MNHQ could you check you received my application please? It just took me back to MN page after I submitted.

Ok I am disabled and so is my 14 year old daughter. I'm not worried about travelling to London from Merseyside but it would be easier to go on my own(with support) than trying to struggle with my daughter too. We would need to take two carers then, and if I went alone I would need to arrange child care because our school doesn't finish until 19th December. I'm sure if anyone not living in London was selected they could follow youtube instructions on how to get the most out of the appliances! Most Mum's and some Dad's can multi task and believe me if I can follow the instructions for an IKEA computer unit, I'm sure that I could follow some tech instructions via an A/V!.... Lots of us are using microsoft/digital/multi media products daily and we get by, so have a little faith in us Northerner's and other Fams North of London! P.S. my disabled daughter mastered the two remote controls for the smart TV in under an hour and she has severe learning disabilities!
BTW I love London and we even attempted a holiday flight from Stanstead this year, and anyone who's journey'd to Stanstead from the North might understand why I mention this Wink
