This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnetters who are testing out the Weight Watchers programme.

Weight Watchers say: “With 50 years of success behind us we understand how to make losing weight simple, delicious and fun; but we also understand how challenging it can be when you’re facing it alone. Join us to lose weight, feel fantastic and achieve great things. You can follow our healthy eating plan completely online with support from our unique community, or benefit from attending our lively meetings, for personal coaching and weight loss guidance.”

Testers: we'll be asking you to add feedback once a week - we'd like your first impressions now and every week after that, we'll be posting some new questions for you to answer.

So, in terms of your first impressions...

~ Will you be going to meetings, following the plan online or a bit of both?
~ Why did you sign up to test out the Weight Watchers plan?
~ What sorts of foods do you think you'll be eating following the plan? Will it be a big change for you?

Everyone who adds their feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £100 Asda voucher, good luck!

Please note: your anonymous comments may be used by Weight Watchers on their website and other marketing materials.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Thanks ladies. iwantgin, I did part of the week Simple Start and part of the week ProPoints, probably not the most structured plan for the beginning, but I was mainly eating Filling and Healthy foods throughout, it was just to give me a wee bit of flexibility at the weekend where I wasn't going to be at home to prepare my own food.

Ledkr · 08/10/2014 18:55

Can anyone explain filling and healthy to me please. Apologies for my dense ness

Sixgeese · 08/10/2014 19:10

From what I understand it is the same food list as SS, but instead of two treats a day you get 49 pro points a week to use however, whenever you want.

Ledkr · 08/10/2014 19:18

God that list wouldn't last me long, there's only so long you can eat the same foods but I guess for a day it would be good.
Just had a nice stew, I'm stuffed.

Sixgeese · 08/10/2014 19:38

I am just had a Spanish omelette and warm autumn fruit salad with natural yogurt for tea which was lovely.

Eva50 · 08/10/2014 20:21

Mmmmm, I fancy an omelette but I'm finished eating for the night. Ds3 is eating cake. Dh is drinking wine. It's so unfair!

Teladi · 08/10/2014 21:35

No me either Ledkr! I am happy to be on full counting now although I do like many of the filling and healthy foods (and lots of them are good value for ProPoints!)

I had sausage pasta tonight which I got from this month's (I think) WW magazine. I bought this month's and last month's magazines and the recipes are pretty good I've found.

iwantgin · 08/10/2014 21:37

DH is just making himself cheese and biscuits right now.

Bastard.

I feel really full after diner still - but always want something sweet about now.

Maybe a hot juice??

ihatethecold · 08/10/2014 21:44

I have chili con carne without rice for my dinner.
I can't find it on the app.
I have no idea how many points it will be.
Had kidney beans in it.

Ledkr · 08/10/2014 22:18

I have sugar free jelly and yogurt if I fancy pudding! Lovely.

Teladi · 08/10/2014 22:53

ihatethecold you could use the recipe builder on the WW site to work out the points?

Won't help you today Eva but I've recently tried the WW frozen mini pots today (2 ProPoints) they come in chocolate and toffee in a 4 pack, and they're actually really good, my DH was eating an almond Magnum and I wasn't even jealous. Frozen desserts are definitely my 'thing' , I do feel I'm missing out if I see my DH eating one so it's nice to find an alternative.

Teladi · 08/10/2014 22:54

Sorry, I meant iwantgin, I think I was confused because of Eva's DS's cake-eating!!

iwantgin · 09/10/2014 12:32

Cheers Teladi will look out for those.

Am not a massive sweetie eater really, but just sometimes..

I did discover today (messing about with the barcode scanner on the app) that there are the same ProPoints in the Harvest Chewee cereal bars as there are in the WW bars. So 2 Propoints for either. The Chewee ceral bars are about a £1 in Home Bargains etc for a pack of either 6 or 9. So good value.

Eva50 · 09/10/2014 12:48

How did you spend your weekly allowance of 49 ProPoints values last week?
I blew the hole lot on Dominos pizza and birthday cake. I won't do that again though as I could have done with a few more points later in the week.

Have you started any exercise or new activity?
No. I already swim 4/5 times a week so just plan to carry on with that for the moment

What do enjoy about your meetings?
Not much to be honest. I am not a very social person and would probably prefer to weigh and go. I will keep going for a bit longer though.

What Weight Watchers tools have you found most useful online?
The pro points calculator is helpful.

Have you been using the Weight Watchers App? If so, do you like it?
I've downloaded it but not really used it much

Have you discovered any new foods / tried any new recipes?
I've mostly been working out the points for my usual recipes. I will try some new ones this week.

Eva50 · 09/10/2014 12:49

I lost 3lb this week! That's 5.5lbs so far.

Teladi · 09/10/2014 13:21

Well done Eva!

Sixgeese · 09/10/2014 15:29

It's a half day at the children's school today, perhaps making gingerbread men wasn't the best thought out activity when I am on a diet.

I was quite good though, the girls made sure I didn't lick my fingers by licking them for me!

BrieAndChilli · 09/10/2014 23:01

Been so busy this week I havnt had time to work out points etc but a couple of people have mentioned I have lost weight :-))))
Still havnt made a meeting
Made a lovely roast in the weekend but concuously had less potatoes as more veg. Definitely cut my portion sizes down. Trying to use app but finding it hard to work out points as I cook most things from scratch.

BrieAndChilli · 09/10/2014 23:01

Have down some Zumba and also
A couple of walks with a friend which I wasn't doing before

hippoherostandinghere · 10/10/2014 07:20

I have been charged this morning, I'm disappointed to be honest. I wonder how long it will take for a refund, good job there was money in the account.

Ledkr · 10/10/2014 07:39

hippo I think its dreadful to promote something here and then take money from testers. In also annoyed and I've not been charged yet.
How dare they. For some people that could cause hardship.
It would put me off the whole organisation even tho I'm liking the diet.

iwantgin · 10/10/2014 07:43

I haven't been charged(yet), but I think it unlikely to be a deliberate mistake? But I can totally understand how annoying it is, and inconvenient if there aren't sufficient funds in your account and you get charged by the bank!

Hopefully it will be resolved.

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 10/10/2014 08:02

Hi everyone! Can I join you please? I started ww 3 weeks ago because I've reached my heaviest ever after taking a combi of meds. Went straight into pp. Firstweek lost 3.5lbs and was over the moon. Then the next week only 0.5. My meeting last told me to eat more add I had 40 of my weekly pp left. So I did and list another 3.5lbs this week. That's half a stone in 3 weeks, I'm well chuffed. Down to 12 stone 5. Target is a stone by Xmas but two in total. I'm walking more, aerobics, circuit training but most importantly tracking like a mofo! I've bought scales too

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 10/10/2014 08:04

Apologies for the typos. I'm on my phone

dobedobedo · 10/10/2014 08:08

Hi Journey!

I can't afford to get charged and there is a pending charge on my PayPal. Sad
