UK Mumsnetters needed to test TomTom’s top Sat Nav - the GO 5000 worth £259.99 NOW CLOSED

We have been asked by the team at TomTom to find 100 UK MNers to try TomTom GO 5000.

We're looking for Mumsnetters who are regular drivers.

TomTom says: "We all know that traffic jams can take seconds to build up and then last for hours. There is nothing more frustrating than sitting in a jam or in slow moving traffic and not knowing how long you will be there. Especially, when your time is tight and you have children to pick up or drop off.

TomTom satnavs know the precise traffic situation on most UK roads at all times, in real time. The satnav you’ll be given to test is a “live device,” this means it is constantly searching every possible route option to find you the fastest route available. So, if the traffic situation suddenly gets bad on your “normal” route, it will automatically search other options to find a new, faster route and give you a new arrive time."

If selected, you'll be sent the TomTom GO 5000 to try for a few weeks and so long as you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

If selected, you will be sent the TomTom GO 5000 at the end of September, and asked to try it for two weeks. You will then need to try it and add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. At the end of the testing period, we’d also like you to post a review on the Mumsnet review pages and fill in a short survey. In order to keep the product, you would need to add your feedback by the 26th of October, so please only apply if you are able to do this.

Please also note that TomTom may use your anonymous feedback comments on their website and social media channels, as well as elsewhere.

If you'd like to take part, please add your details here: www.surveymonkey.com/s/RKBRB3K

We will be in touch with selected MNers ASAP.

Thanks and good luck!

Matt is on drop 21 and we are drop 54!
Do we know which was the most popular voice yet?

ChippingInLatteLover · 08/10/2014 10:02

I'm chuffed to have been selected, but I've just received a text to say the delivery company haven't received my parcel so they won't be delivering today - boo. I was looking forward to having it all set up in time for my commute in the morning as well!

Sparklingbrook · 08/10/2014 10:09

I have plugged it into the laptop and going round in circles a bit with trying to get the account sorted.

Blondieminx · 08/10/2014 10:09

no delivery text here either

And as predicted last night, they came whilst I was on the school run, 8.45am. On hold trying to re-arrange delivery now...

Sparklingbrook · 08/10/2014 10:09

What voice have we got from the vote?

Allisgood1 · 08/10/2014 10:12

Mines been delivered next door. Even though I was home when they delivered and they never rang the doorbell!

Just followed the original "we are delivering "link and apparently it is still coming with Michael who is delivering number 20 and I'm number 44 - I shall remain hopeful !

whoops · 08/10/2014 10:23

I'm actually watching where he is from my phone at hospital I've asked for mine to be delivered to my neighbour

WarriorOne · 08/10/2014 10:37

Ooooh, they must have found my parcel, I've just had a text to say they'll deliver today after all!

ChippingInLatteLover · 08/10/2014 10:38

Well, that was fun :)

I now have TimTim.

Though, I was tempted to have the NZ bloke! Might on a sunny day.

No idea who the chosen voice is though as my laptop can't handle connecting to a new bit of hardware. I'll try to do it later when I'm at my friends place.

ChippingInLatteLover · 08/10/2014 10:40

Update on ODD texts saying they wont deliver

I think it's safe to say if you have a delivery time already, it will come at that time. I have just had 'the message' to say mine wont be able to be delivered today. Yes, the one sitting on my coffee table Grin

ChippingInLatteLover · 08/10/2014 10:43

Whoops are you ok? I didn't realise you were in hospital.

ChippingInLatteLover · 08/10/2014 10:43

I'm just making coffee for me and TimTim, anyone else for a Brew

Sparklingbrook · 08/10/2014 10:59

Tom Tom doesn't seem to want to link to my laptop.

mrstiggy · 08/10/2014 11:02

Mine has arrived! I'm very excited. I never got any texts either but I probably put my home number on the forms rather than my mobile. Silly habit to have as my house phone is nearly always flat. Smile Feel like I missed all the fun stalking the delivery man online!
Of to have a cuppa and a nosy at the instructions.

Sparklingbrook · 08/10/2014 11:04

hahaha a 'nosy at the instructions' Grin Sad
