UK Mumsnetters needed to test TomTom’s top Sat Nav - the GO 5000 worth £259.99 NOW CLOSED

We have been asked by the team at TomTom to find 100 UK MNers to try TomTom GO 5000.

We're looking for Mumsnetters who are regular drivers.

TomTom says: "We all know that traffic jams can take seconds to build up and then last for hours. There is nothing more frustrating than sitting in a jam or in slow moving traffic and not knowing how long you will be there. Especially, when your time is tight and you have children to pick up or drop off.

TomTom satnavs know the precise traffic situation on most UK roads at all times, in real time. The satnav you’ll be given to test is a “live device,” this means it is constantly searching every possible route option to find you the fastest route available. So, if the traffic situation suddenly gets bad on your “normal” route, it will automatically search other options to find a new, faster route and give you a new arrive time."

If selected, you'll be sent the TomTom GO 5000 to try for a few weeks and so long as you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

If selected, you will be sent the TomTom GO 5000 at the end of September, and asked to try it for two weeks. You will then need to try it and add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. At the end of the testing period, we’d also like you to post a review on the Mumsnet review pages and fill in a short survey. In order to keep the product, you would need to add your feedback by the 26th of October, so please only apply if you are able to do this.

Please also note that TomTom may use your anonymous feedback comments on their website and social media channels, as well as elsewhere.

If you'd like to take part, please add your details here: www.surveymonkey.com/s/RKBRB3K

We will be in touch with selected MNers ASAP.

Thanks and good luck!

Me, me! I have a shocking sense of direction and need all the help I can get!

TequilaMockinBird · 16/09/2014 07:48

Me, me, me please

I drive all over the country for work and I'm always getting lost! I would give this a very thorough test Smile

Floralnomad · 16/09/2014 09:19

I would love to test this ,I drive thousands of miles a year and my current TomTom is quite elderly.

gluenotsoup · 16/09/2014 09:54

Yes please ! Having no sense of direction is not good ! This would mean I could get out with the kids a bit more and maybe be a more confident driver too ....

KraggleLego · 16/09/2014 10:22

Done

unadulterateddad · 16/09/2014 10:47

Done.

BiggerYellowTaxi · 16/09/2014 19:38

nicename we asked for a sat nav for a wedding gift and it stopped all car/map-related arguments. Unfortunately, it got stolen and the arguments have returned Sad.

Shakey1500 · 16/09/2014 19:47

Entered :)

Sirzy · 16/09/2014 19:56

This would be great I have to drive to so many new places would be so much easier if I had something like this

Debs75 · 16/09/2014 19:59

Yes please I have lost faith in my Garmin and need to navigate to LEGOLAND next week and then across country each month to get DD1 from Uni.

I generally use print outs from Google maps but they can't help in a traffic jam

marymouse · 16/09/2014 20:38

I've entered but it takes me back to the mumsnet home page once I submit the form so I'm not sure if it's worked.

nightswift · 16/09/2014 21:49

Hi Mn - just to let you know there is no formal confirmation at the end of the survey to let you know you have entered successfully, no "thank you for your comments" or the like. Like another poster has mentioned, you go straight back to the online survey and product test landing page.

Thanks - we'll get on to this.

Quejica · 17/09/2014 07:38

I would love to test this. I drive over 15,000 miles per year, mostly to get to work in different places and if I could do anything to avoid that horrid realisation when still stuck in stationary traffic, that I am actually going to be late for work despite having left home at an unearthly hour, I would be so grateful!

DurhamDurham · 17/09/2014 08:24

This is a good one, I've entered as I'm a respite coordinator and visit people at home, I hate arriving late and flustered.....it doesn't set a great first impression.

BigglesFliesUndone · 17/09/2014 14:10

God, the arguments we have had lately with no sat nav! DH has always refused to get one but now, even he admits we need to think about it! I would love this!

ShoeWhore · 17/09/2014 15:36

Oh yes please - have just moved to a new area and keep getting lost, so this would be an absolute lifesaver.

Redglitter · 17/09/2014 15:42

Oh I'd love to try that

Squiffie · 17/09/2014 20:06
