Dyson are looking for 20 Mumsnetters to test out their newest vacuum - The Dyson Cinetic DC54 (Currently sold for £459.99 on the Dyson website).

Here's what Dyson have to say, "Dyson's latest vacuum cleaner uses Dyson Cinetic cyclone technology. 54 cyclones are equipped with oscillating rubber tips making them so efficient at separating dust there is no need for filter maintenance. As a result, it will not lose suction over the lifetime of the machine. It is Dyson's biggest step forward in vacuum technology since removing the bag in 1993."

Putting it to the test

"Dyson engineers spent 9,000 hours testing the new Dyson Cinetic; which is the equivalent of 500 years of vacuuming in the home. So now we want hectic households to put it to the test. Over 2 tonnes of dust was used to test the Dyson Cinetic vacuum, roughly the same weight as a bull elephant. Can you do better?"

No loss of suction. Ever.

"Bagged vacuums lose suction almost instantly. Fine dust clogs the pores of the bag restricting airflow while other cyclonic vacuum cleaners often rely on filters to capture dust which have the same problem. The Dyson Cinetic's oscillating rubber tips are made from a top secret material that's been tested with over 10 years' worth of test dust. The Dyson Cinetic vacuum cleaner will not lose suction."

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

Dyson are on the hunt for 20 MNers who are:

  • Available to receive a machine, and willing to test it over a two week period between 17th February and 3rd March, so please only apply if you're available during this time. You will get to keep the Dyson Cinetic once you have finished testing.
  • Able to leave feedback on the feedback thread, a review in the reviews section of Mumsnet, and a short survey outlining your feedback to be used on Dyson's website.
  • Comfortable submitting photos of the test.

Dyson will set three challenges testing the speed, effectiveness and durability of the Dyson Cinetic which you'll need to complete. We'll post these on the feedback thread. Don't worry they should be fun!

If you want to sign up to test out the Dyson Cinetic, click here.

For those of you who aren't successful, keep an eye out for the feedback thread where you could still be in with the chance to win a Dyson Cinetic vacuum of your own.

If you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Please note: Testers will be required to send photos into Mumsnet (and optional video footage). These could potentially be used on Dyson websites and social media pages (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc).

Yes please

DIddled · 05/02/2014 21:53

If it can pick up the muck here it is a miracle indeed. Henry has struggled on for a while but the builders using him to Hoover up rubble had fair made his eyes swivel and he has given up!!

DIddled · 05/02/2014 21:54

And my last 'Hoover' literally set on fire!!! Real flames and everything!!!

rusmum · 05/02/2014 22:07

Me sorry! Ignore one lol x

CormoranStrike · 06/02/2014 00:00

I'm in - I am sure my dog, cat and teens could really give it a test-drive send to none.

Monty27 · 06/02/2014 00:04

Me me.

Cats, dust, two young adults plus me and I have asthma, ds gets bad hay fever

IAmNotAPrincessIAmAKahleesi · 06/02/2014 08:27

Done Smile

We have six dc (including two football playing filthy teenagers), three giant dogs, two long haired cats and four guinea pigs

We could certainly put it through it's paces Grin

ThePearShapedToad · 06/02/2014 10:16

Already pleaded once up thread but thought I'd add a stroke of genius to my case:

A true experiment takes in all variables. So because I don't have messy dogs / children, my cream carpets and I could be the control test Grin

Ta da!

Bribery of brownies for whoever picks the lucky winners....

ThingsThatGoBumpInTheNight · 06/02/2014 10:57

I'll apply

I've got a Great Dane. Constant shedder, and very fine needle like hairs not to mention the dander that comes off him.
The kids aren't a match for him lol.

Don't even mind not getting chosen a more than happy with my current dyson which I think without looking is a dc27? Animal and it does a fantastic job, its five years old and going strong, would be nice to have no filters to mess around with though.

smaths · 06/02/2014 11:25

With 3 working dogs, 2 kids under 3 and a farmer with VERY muddy boots in the house - as well as 2 wood burners and a range that are constantly on in winter, I need this vacuum in my life if it's as good as it says it is, as my house kills all vacuum cleaner filters in about a month!

MTBMummy · 06/02/2014 12:26

Done - pretty pretty please pick me....

SG1976 · 06/02/2014 12:28

We've got three young boys, one tom-girl, two hairy dogs, ten chickens and a very muddy garden. Is The Dyson Cinetic up the challenge?!

InMySpareTime · 06/02/2014 12:58

SG, I hope you don't vacuum the gardenGrin. That would not end well...

SG1976 · 06/02/2014 15:09

InMySpareTime - No - not yet (LOL)! But our eldest son (aged 8) did vacuum the water from the dogs water bowel a few weeks ago. That was the end of the vacuum cleaner so the opportunity to test drive a Dysun couldn't come at a better time. Fingers and paws crossed!

sunderland123 · 06/02/2014 15:19

Hope i can try this as i think dyson make the best cleaners

Millipedewithherfeetup · 06/02/2014 17:35

Does anyone know when we'll hear if we've been chosen ?

Jaclynn · 06/02/2014 18:09

I love the upright Dyson I have had for ten years! Would like to see if this Cinetic DC54 can better it's efficiency. Also my old one is rather heavy to carry upstairs and this looks smaller and lighter.

yUMMYmUMMYb · 06/02/2014 18:35

Just your stsndard pre-school mess here. The kids love hoovering so I would love to try the new dyson, please?

elk4baby · 06/02/2014 18:43

Have a constantly shedding cat, and builders in the house redoing bathrooms and hallway - so constantly hoovering. Would love to try this one!

Thomas100 · 06/02/2014 19:00

I have a 1 yr old who automatically puts thinks on the floor or in his mouth and then on the floor, I would love to test this.

Kranky · 06/02/2014 19:11

All signed up. Would love this as my Dyson has just broken today. Could put the Hoover through its paces.

docpeppa · 06/02/2014 20:44

Just signed up, I really hope it can tackle all the cat hairs and toddler mess Smile

julesofdenial · 06/02/2014 21:31

Me, me - pick me! I am so fed up with buying new hoovers only for them to lose suction after a few months. I am also rubbish at cleaning the filter - I didn't even realise I had to until my builder pointed it out to me!
