Dyson are looking for 20 Mumsnetters to test out their newest vacuum - The Dyson Cinetic DC54 (Currently sold for £459.99 on the Dyson website).

Here's what Dyson have to say, "Dyson's latest vacuum cleaner uses Dyson Cinetic cyclone technology. 54 cyclones are equipped with oscillating rubber tips making them so efficient at separating dust there is no need for filter maintenance. As a result, it will not lose suction over the lifetime of the machine. It is Dyson's biggest step forward in vacuum technology since removing the bag in 1993."

Putting it to the test

"Dyson engineers spent 9,000 hours testing the new Dyson Cinetic; which is the equivalent of 500 years of vacuuming in the home. So now we want hectic households to put it to the test. Over 2 tonnes of dust was used to test the Dyson Cinetic vacuum, roughly the same weight as a bull elephant. Can you do better?"

No loss of suction. Ever.

"Bagged vacuums lose suction almost instantly. Fine dust clogs the pores of the bag restricting airflow while other cyclonic vacuum cleaners often rely on filters to capture dust which have the same problem. The Dyson Cinetic's oscillating rubber tips are made from a top secret material that's been tested with over 10 years' worth of test dust. The Dyson Cinetic vacuum cleaner will not lose suction."

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

Dyson are on the hunt for 20 MNers who are:

  • Available to receive a machine, and willing to test it over a two week period between 17th February and 3rd March, so please only apply if you're available during this time. You will get to keep the Dyson Cinetic once you have finished testing.
  • Able to leave feedback on the feedback thread, a review in the reviews section of Mumsnet, and a short survey outlining your feedback to be used on Dyson's website.
  • Comfortable submitting photos of the test.

Dyson will set three challenges testing the speed, effectiveness and durability of the Dyson Cinetic which you'll need to complete. We'll post these on the feedback thread. Don't worry they should be fun!

If you want to sign up to test out the Dyson Cinetic, click here.

For those of you who aren't successful, keep an eye out for the feedback thread where you could still be in with the chance to win a Dyson Cinetic vacuum of your own.

If you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Please note: Testers will be required to send photos into Mumsnet (and optional video footage). These could potentially be used on Dyson websites and social media pages (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc).

Well I've chucked my name in the ring, I'm still using a DC01 which has been, and still is, legendary - considering what it has to deal with daily!

A nice new DC54 would be lovely please thank you ever so!! X

I have joined the very long list of MN hopefuls dreaming of a new vacuum cleaner...what amazingly sad lives we lead Smile

Theimpossiblegirl · 04/02/2014 19:30

Hoping they take pity on me- it's very muddy in Somerset and the dog and kids keep treading it through the house!

threepiecesuite · 04/02/2014 19:31

Done. wouldn't it be ace to be picked?

TequilaMockinBird · 04/02/2014 20:01

Done. Would love this! We have a 3 storey house and my current Dyson upright is sooooo heavy, vacuuming all those stairs is a nightmare with it Sad

Fingers well and truly crossed for this one!

rupert23 · 04/02/2014 20:22

Would love to try this with my four children ,dog and two cats i have a busy house which needs this new dyson desperately. I hope i get picked for this

HappyMum4 · 04/02/2014 21:12

Love to put this to the test on four very mucky, not very considerate kids, who virtually live outdoors and seem to bring most of it back in with them, one husband who seems to to have made it his life mission to ignore my desire for tidyness and cleanliness, things like "could you use a plate if you're going to eat that really crusty French bread" rather than just your hand cupped underneath it that manages to contain not a single crumb. Oh, and the dog. That thing manages to shed hairs in rooms it's not even allowed in?? !!

florencebabyjo · 04/02/2014 21:17

This would be fantastic for us, 5 kids and 4 fluffy cats, could be great!

Lydia30 · 04/02/2014 21:19

I would love to take part in the trial. I have 2 young children who constantly make a mess, 2 very large puppies and a cat. I also have a husband who works with wood and we regulary have a trail of shavings through the house.

NolansEpicDressSense · 04/02/2014 21:20

Oh I want this. A lot. Please.

sweetkitty · 04/02/2014 21:56

The Dyson is the third hardest working thing in here behind me and the washing machine Grin

4 mancky children, one large dog and one cat!

Nyx · 04/02/2014 23:25

Me please!! Survey thing done, fingers and toes crossed.

Dontwanttobeyourmonkeywrench · 04/02/2014 23:49

Done! Anything that will cope with my 2 furry beasts and teenager who creates mess just by breathing will have my undying gratitude. My 2 JA's can fill 1 binliner per leg when blowing their coats and I'm secretly dreading the warmer weather because they will start to blow in earnest Confused

MummyKnight · 04/02/2014 23:54

Applied, I hope I get selected. My old cleaner has just packed up in a spectacular style! Dirt everywhere!

MrChow · 05/02/2014 00:38

I love my current dyson. 7 years and counting so a a new one to road test would be amazing.

EdieBlizzard · 05/02/2014 01:10

Will the mighty Dyson take on the challenge of our household?!

Alwayscheerful · 05/02/2014 08:06

Applied.

Tortoise · 05/02/2014 18:45

Please pick me! I've applied the last few times there was a Dyson test and not been selected! My Dyson is on it's last legs!

telsa · 05/02/2014 19:01

Ere is hoping....videoing would be, er, fun.

MrsClauswearsspanx · 05/02/2014 19:33

Pleeeeerrerase HQ?! I'd love you forever.

rusmum · 05/02/2014 19:54

Is this closed? Can't get on it

fanoftheinvisibleman · 05/02/2014 20:02

Just spent ages filling in the form but when completed it returned me to the BT openzone page which is what it does when broadband is disconnected Sad is there any way you can tell me if it went through?

Sarahplane · 05/02/2014 20:27

Messy kids and molting cats here so would love to find a vacuum that can handle it.

doormouse04 · 05/02/2014 20:37

Yes please, one dog, horses, messy kids and adults who work outside in mud for a living, what more do you need?

fanoftheinvisibleman · 05/02/2014 20:42

I have re submitted just in case ...I am keen!
