Dyson are looking for 20 Mumsnetters to test out their newest vacuum - The Dyson Cinetic DC54 (Currently sold for £459.99 on the Dyson website).

Here's what Dyson have to say, "Dyson's latest vacuum cleaner uses Dyson Cinetic cyclone technology. 54 cyclones are equipped with oscillating rubber tips making them so efficient at separating dust there is no need for filter maintenance. As a result, it will not lose suction over the lifetime of the machine. It is Dyson's biggest step forward in vacuum technology since removing the bag in 1993."

Putting it to the test

"Dyson engineers spent 9,000 hours testing the new Dyson Cinetic; which is the equivalent of 500 years of vacuuming in the home. So now we want hectic households to put it to the test. Over 2 tonnes of dust was used to test the Dyson Cinetic vacuum, roughly the same weight as a bull elephant. Can you do better?"

No loss of suction. Ever.

"Bagged vacuums lose suction almost instantly. Fine dust clogs the pores of the bag restricting airflow while other cyclonic vacuum cleaners often rely on filters to capture dust which have the same problem. The Dyson Cinetic's oscillating rubber tips are made from a top secret material that's been tested with over 10 years' worth of test dust. The Dyson Cinetic vacuum cleaner will not lose suction."

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

Dyson are on the hunt for 20 MNers who are:

  • Available to receive a machine, and willing to test it over a two week period between 17th February and 3rd March, so please only apply if you're available during this time. You will get to keep the Dyson Cinetic once you have finished testing.
  • Able to leave feedback on the feedback thread, a review in the reviews section of Mumsnet, and a short survey outlining your feedback to be used on Dyson's website.
  • Comfortable submitting photos of the test.

Dyson will set three challenges testing the speed, effectiveness and durability of the Dyson Cinetic which you'll need to complete. We'll post these on the feedback thread. Don't worry they should be fun!

If you want to sign up to test out the Dyson Cinetic, click here.

For those of you who aren't successful, keep an eye out for the feedback thread where you could still be in with the chance to win a Dyson Cinetic vacuum of your own.

If you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Please note: Testers will be required to send photos into Mumsnet (and optional video footage). These could potentially be used on Dyson websites and social media pages (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc).

Done.

My 10 year old dyson is still working but it's only a matter of time before it snuffs it. Confused

I don't have an animal unless you count our hamster. But I could kill for a good vacuum cleaner, my son is asthmatic and our vacuum is ok, but a top of the range job would hopefully make a world of difference.

yes please! 5 kids and allergied means constant hoovering in this house!

I have applied and now I feel guilty. We kill vacuums. :-( I didn't see the cost of this one. I can't kill a £400, I'd never forgive myself. That's why I have a Miele, they take abuse.

But can it cope with brick dust literally everywhere? I can tell you Henry and Vax can't! We have just moved house and are doing building work with 3 under sixes doing their best to spread the messy love.

I've applied, would really love to be chosen for this trial as we are a very messy family, complete with longhaired dog, and we are using a DC04 (daily!) at the moment and we could so do with an upgrade Grin

I've applied too - I'm desperate for a decent hoover. I loved my original Dyson but been less impressed with my Miele & top-rated Bosch. I'm beginning to think that there is no such thing as a brilliant vacuum cleaner. This sounds very promising.

Well I have signed up.
I can't find a vacuum thay stays good so am currently using a argos value cleaner and replacing it every 9 months or so.
I blame my cat and DIYing DH.

This would be so great, we are renovating and the dust! I think dh has just about worn the old vacuum out, it's overheating and smells dodgy.

Is the Pope Catholic?

Oh boy am I in. One Springer Spaniel, one Bearded Dragon that flings its bedding around like a 70's starlet and five children will give it a work out.

I really don't think even dyson would be able to copy with mine and dds hair, very long and often worn down. It gets everywhere and our current vacuum is constantly blocked by it.
