This thread is for the 100 Mumsnetters who tried Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter.

However, if you're not a tester, share whether you/your DC prefer your peanut butter Crunchy or Smooth and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Whole Earth hamper!

For those who tested the product, we?ve got a few questions we'd like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Non-tester but big lover of peanut butter - has to be crunchy though! Love it spooned straight from the jar, pb and many assorted item sandwiches, cookies, satays etc. A most versatile foodstuff :)

I love Whole Earth Crunchy Peanut Butter - like the fact there is no added sugar (but it is naturally sweet enough for me). Would like it not to contain Palm Oil - any chance of a change to a more ecologically friendly oil?

At the moment we have Whole Earth Smooth Peanut Butter. I'd rather have crunchy but my toddler sucks the bits of peanut and leaves them on the table.

We always have both Crunchy and smooth in. Dd1 and DH only like Crunchy, dd2 only likes smooth and I like smooth on sandwiches and Crunchy on toast!!
LOVE whole earth as it is all natural, it is expensive though, I stock up whenever it's on offer!

Always crunchy in this house, we add it to porridge and smoothies and the little bits make it more interesting!

Smooth 'pea-ut' for 22 month old DD and I. We love it much to DH's horror.

think they should do a half and half jar as i am very much a where the mood takes me on smooth or crunchy:)

We are crunchy all the way! Non tester here, but my kids have it for breakfast almost everday (sometimes lunch too). Ilike it because it ensures they have some protein, but is much quicker and easier than alalternatives such as scrambled eggs. Also is easier for them to eat when they are tired.

I also love it in a sweet potato stew.

I only buy smooth for baking.

Whole Earth is the only brand I like. Others don't taste of much. But then, I think I may have been raised on it - but in the '80s you had to stir the jar vigorously as the top was all oil and the bottom dry as dust.

Shocking but, I have only ever eaten smooth peanut butter. It has never occurred to me to buy crunchy. I will buy some tomorrow.

I always buy crunchy - great for curries and satay sauces, and the occasional peanut butter on toast.

When I was a kid, we used to go to the health food shop when we'd see - literally before our eyes - whole peanuts being crushed and turned into peanut butter. If I remember rightly, there was a dial that you could turn to go from smooth to crunchy. This was 100% peanuts which makes me a little skeptical about Whole Earth's claim of 97% peanuts - what's in the other 3%. Am sure Whole Earth is infinitely better than other brands such as Sunpat or supermarket own though which seem to have loads of added sugar and salt.

Crunchy definitely, but I'm not very healthy with peanut butter I'm afraid - I add extra salt because it tastes better and then eat it on toast with raspberry jam (salty and sweet mmmmmmm)

I prefer crunchy but the kids prefer smooth so we buy both !

Non-Tester: I haven't had peanut butter in years! So who knows if I still like it or not? I know when we were kids, my parents always bought the smooth Sunpat stuff which was nice. I loved it with jam on toast! I haven't tried it with DC yet but I'm sure I'll get around to it and will probably start with the smooth kind because of the whole peanut allergy thing! :D

bealos what an interesting experience!! like your very own charlie and the chocolate factory experience... but with peanuts! ooh... has there ever been a chocolate peanut butter? that would be fun!

I'm not a fan of peanut butter on toast, but it's chunky all the way for cookies!

Got to be crunchy otherwise what's the point. My little brother and I used mix it with chocolate spread in sandwiches and my mum has it with pickled onions! Peanut butter literally goes with anything - always a winner in our house.
