This thread is for the 100 Mumsnetters who tried Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter.

However, if you're not a tester, share whether you/your DC prefer your peanut butter Crunchy or Smooth and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Whole Earth hamper!

For those who tested the product, we?ve got a few questions we'd like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I prefer crunchy, but kids like it smooth!

Hi there, I am a taster so here is my feedback.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?
We all loved the consistency of this, its not really sticky and gloopy, the taste is great, not too sickly. DD loves it so much she likes to have a snack of peanut butter fingers as per Joey from friends (dip fingers in peanut butter, scoop out, eat)

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?
I think this peanut butter is the best I have eaten so far, we have tried other brands along with this one before this taste test and this is the brand we now buy regularly.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?
I'm happy to pay this bit extra for the no added sugar and other additives. The fewer ingredients the better as far as I am concerned. I am disappointed to see palm oil as an ingredient though.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?
We ate it on toast, on fruited loaf, on rich tea biscuits as an after school snack, its lovely. Oh and dd obviously enjoyed peanut butter fingers. I don't think I would cook with it though, it would make the recipe quite expensive if I were making something like cookies which would need a large amount, I would probably use a cheaper peanut butter.

Yes definitely, I have already recommended it to my mother prior to this taste test.

My Dd asked me to buy her some 'healthy' peanut butter and yours was the healthiest I could find in Asda. I chose smooth organic. As others have said, not entirely happy about the added salt or palm oil. I eat pb on a tasted bagel or from a dish with a stick of celery.
Id love it if you did other nut butters (but without the palm oil or salt).

I was a crunchy peanut butter fan for years and years. I never ate smooth at all! Then one day, in my 30's, I just changed to smooth. Now I only buy crunchy to make satay sauce!

Perfection for me is Vogels Sunflower & barley toast, with smooth peanut butter and a cup of coffee. OMG it rocks!!

No contest - crunchy every time.

It just feels more wholesome and natural when you eat it.

Smooth has that uncanny knack for sticking to your palate and making eating it (despite the wonderful flavour) an overall unpleasant experience.

Non tester - I like it smoooooooth!

I thought that I would like the crunchy peanut butter best but I realised very quickly that I prefered the smooth much more! I am just glad that my DDs don't really like it much at the moment so it is all mine!!!!

I prefer the crunchy one, but saw a recipe to make a cream filling for cookies using smooth peanut butter. I used Whole Earth and it made an absolutely delicious filling with butter, single cream, icing sugar and vanilla extract. I didn't tell the children what was in it, as they do not like peanut butter, and when I did they were amazed and said they wanted to try peanut butter again - Success!

I will only eat smooth peanut butter. I have it on toast with jam

Non tester: I love crunchy! I have it mixed into my porridge to give it some texture. I also love it as a treat on toast with honey or jam !

I am a tester. DS and I both liked the taste and texture. So far we've had it on toast and in sandwiches. The price is OK - midway between supermarket own brand and posh ones like meridian. If cost wasn't an issue I'd prefer a peanut butter which didn't have added ingredients especially salt and palm oil but at the moment price is an issue and I definitely preferred whole earth to some of the claggy, overly sweet own brand ones I've tried. We like crunchy best.

I only ever buy crunchy peanut butter, and will buy whole earth peanut butter if it is a good price - I do think it is a nicer product.

I don't use peanut butter in cooking a lot, but I do use it in Jamie Oliver's 30 minute meal satay kebabs (and it goes down a treat with the family). I sometimes make fridge cake/tiffin, and put peanut butter in that - I like the saltiness it adds to the chocolate.

We are a crunchy family. It's nice to have some texture and it's great it cookies too

Crunchy for me definitely although will take smooth in an emergency - better smooth than no peanut butter.

I've only recently discovered whole earth peanut butter and it is soooo much better! Crunchy for us though, I feel it has more ummm substance

Not a tester, but I love Whole Earth peanut butter - doesn't matter if it's smooth or crunchy - love them both! lol and glad to be able to buy an unsweetened peanut butter in my local Asda! ;)

Not a tester. We as a family like both but if I had to choose I'd say I probably buy more smooth than crunchy.

I only like smooth , out of the jar by the spoonful ! DH likes crunchy so we have to have two lots on the go
