NOW CLOSED: Lyclear head lice Treatment Shampoo: Feedback thread: now with final questions added

KatieBMumsnet · 30/08/2013 16:07

This thread is for the 100 unfortunate MNers who have recently experienced head lice and trialled Lyclear Treatment Shampoo.

Here's what Lyclear have to say about their product, "Lyclear Treatment Shampoo is and is as easy to use as washing hair. (1) The unique double action formula suffocates and dehydrates head lice and their eggs and is free from insecticides. The shampoo acts in a purely physical manner, ensuring the head lice do not become resistant to the treatment."

Lyclear Treatment Shampoo is suitable for adults and children over 2 years of age. Note: You should only use Lyclear Treatment Shampoo if you have live head lice. Do not use if allergic to any of the ingredients.*

So if you're a tester we'd like you to add feedback to this thread at least twice: Once when you first use the shampoo and once again after the second application (7 days after the first).

Lyclear says after checking the hair for lice with the fine toothed comb enclosed you should evenly apply the shampoo to dry hair, massaging from root to tip, paying particular attention to the neck and behind the ears. Leave on for 10 minutes then wash and rinse the hair thoroughly. Remove dead head lice and eggs with the fine toothed comb, thoroughly cleaning after use. Repeat the treatment after 7 days.

Please note your comments may be used by Lyclear in marketing material, on their website and possibly elsewhere.

So for your first feedback post please share:

Firstly about head lice:

  1. Who in your family is being treated for head lice? Please include gender and age
  2. Is this the first time they've had head lice? If no, how many times have they had head lice?
  3. What treatments have you tried in the past?

Secondly about Lyclear Treatment Shampoo:

  1. How easy did you find using the fine toothed comb?
  2. How did Lyclear Treatment Shampoo compare to other treatments you've used in the past? Please note Lyclear is clinically proven to kill 100% of head lice after the second treatment is complete. For each of the following statements please say if Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was better, about the same or worse than other treatments you may have used:
a. Effective at removing most head lice and eggs b. Ease of use c. Convenience d. Greasiness of treatment e. Ease of washing out treatment
  1. Please provide more details if you felt Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was worse than previous treatments for any of the above:
  2. Did you like the fragrance or smell of Lyclear Treatment Shampoo?
  3. Any other comments on initial use?
  4. Did your child like the shampoo? Please say what they thought

All selected testers who add at least two lots of feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win £250 worth of Love2Shop vouchers.

Thanks and good luck (with everything)

We applied the second treatment a few days ago as instructed. Really impressed that there was enough in one bottle to treat all 3 dcs and me (not sure I needed it, but I tend to get a bit freaked out by the thought of headlice, so started scratching in sympathy!) which maybe makes up (a bit) for the high rrp.

  1. Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?
Please copy any relevant answers that apply in your post and add any additional comments a. Effective b. Convenient c. Easy-to-use d. Hassle-free e. Non-greasy

All of the above. 2nd time round it seemed less greasy than I had thought - maybe we just got used to it, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, and it did wash out really well.

  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment?

I'm not 100% certain we had lice in the end, but I am certain that none survived the second treatment if we did!

  1. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain

Sorry - no experience of treating lice.

  1. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain

Yes - I particularly liked the fact that it didn't involve pouring DEET or some other disgusting insecticide on the dcs heads! I might even give the comb a second chance....some of the other testers seem to think it was ok :)

  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain

Yes

  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?

Massage it in well and don't apply too much at once.

All selected testers who add at least two lots of feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win £250 worth of Love2Shop vouchers.

thanks

Firstly about head lice:

  1. Who in your family is being treated for head lice? Please include gender and age
daughter age 11, daughter age 12 and now me!!
  1. Is this the first time they've had head lice? If no, how many times have they had head lice? no, probably 5 times?
  2. What treatments have you tried in the past?
Hedrin and natural products

Secondly about Lyclear Treatment Shampoo:

  1. How easy did you find using the fine toothed comb?
Yes good
  1. How did Lyclear Treatment Shampoo compare to other treatments you've used in the past? Please note Lyclear is clinically proven to kill 100% of head lice after the second treatment is complete. For each of the following statements please say if Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was better, about the same or worse than other treatments you may have used:
a. Effective at removing most head lice and eggs- better b. Ease of use-better c. Convenience-better d. Greasiness of treatment- about the same e. Ease of washing out treatment- about the same
  1. Please provide more details if you felt Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was worse than previous treatments for any of the above:
  2. Did you like the fragrance or smell of Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? yes
  3. Any other comments on initial use? no
  4. Did your child like the shampoo? Please say what they thought
They were fed up but tolerated it well

  1. Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?
Please copy any relevant answers that apply in your post and add any additional comments a. Effective b. Convenient c. Easy-to-use d. Hassle-free e. Non-greasy

B, C, D, E It was oily to apply but didn't leave hair greasy once washed and rinsed. It was easy & convenient to use. Not sure I can say it was affective as after 2 treatments my daughter and I have some itching again. I found it hard to ensure all the hair was coated because of the oiliness of the lotion.

  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment? No, see comments above.
  1. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain. I wouldn't say more effective but more pleasant and easier to use than other treatments. I think it would be good for a severe infestation, with wet combing to follow up.
  1. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain. I'd probably choose it over other treatments but like the others it's expensive and there was only just enough for me and my daughter to do 2 treatments (shoulder length hair).
  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain. I'd say it smelled nice and didn't leave hair greasy like other treatments.
  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment? Making sure the hair is completely covered is important, probably need to use more than you think is necessary to make sure you haven't missed bits.

All selected testers who add at least two lots of feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win £250 worth of Love2Shop vouchers.

thanks

  1. Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?
Please copy any relevant answers that apply in your post and add any additional comments a. Effective--- For us Yes. Dd wasn't 'snided' but it was effective. b. Convenient--- Yes if you are careful with the bottle. c. Easy-to-use--- Yes. d. Hassle-free---Pretty much. e. Non-greasy--- a little bit greasier than other treatments but we have never used a shampoo type before.
  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment?---Yes, completely clear.
  2. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain--- Yes but only with the nitty gritty comb, the comb that came with didn't do much for the eggs.
  3. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain--- I feel it is a little on the expensive side for us to buy regularly, To treat a whole family would become costly.
  4. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain---Yes I would but only if they were well off :~) But seriously, yes I would it did its job well, with a little help from nitty gritty.
  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?
Read the blurb properly. Its there for a reason. Use smaller amounts to get a good foamy lather, massage it in well and rinse well too, Perhaps change the comb though.

Thanks Lyclear and Mumsnet, you helped me get rid of the pesky critters.

Svrider · 11/09/2013 18:06

Didn't have any left for second treatment
The kids do seem less itchy after only one treatment
I thought it was convenient and washed out nicely
Would cost me around £30 treat whole family, cheaper than hedrin but £30 is lot for us
Yes I would recommend it, overall but would also tell another mum about the pharmacy first scheme where lice ttreatments are avaiable free from the chemist

Convenient--- yes doesnt spilll, there is no big rigmarole of hair washing, drying before use c. Easy-to-use--- Yes, takes much less time than others d. Hassle-free-- as much as it can be e. Non-greasy--- no, it is very greasy but if washed out properly it is fine

  2. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain--- Yes it was easier to do and seemed to do the job first time but i do think that the comb could be improved
  3. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain.

  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain---Yes, i already have thanks to this Ptest
  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?

  1. Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?
Please copy any relevant answers that apply in your post and add any additional comments a. Effective b. Convenient c. Easy-to-use d. Hassle-free e. Non-greasy All of these, although it is greasy going on it washes out easily and doesn't leave hair at all greasy after washing.
  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment?
Yes, it seems very effective, I think they've all gone.
  1. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain
N/A
  1. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain
It seems quite pricey but is probably worth it as it's so effective and contains several treatments per bottle.
  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain
Yes as it's very easy to use and I like the way it works meaning headlice cannot become resistant to it.
  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?
Just follow the instructions really - it is very simple to use. The only thing I found difficult about it was the runniness of the solution, making it hard to hold in your hand and apply. It would be a lot easier if it was thicker (more like shampoo thickness)
dstill1964 · 11/09/2013 21:56

1:Oh my goodness ; I am so impressed that this has worked and far exceeded my expectations .Am one happy Mum!! Most definitely a,b,c,d and e.Took hardly any time at all to use and left our hair well conditioned too.
2: Have been eggs and nit free since first application and no tell tale scratching anymore. I reapplied as per instructions to be sure.
3: Have literally tried every other product to no avail but this is truly marvellous.
4: Would most definitely not hesitate to pay for this as is well worth the price
5: yes.yes and yes; I will without a doubt spread the lyclear word around as I know so many other people who are having the same problem.
6: My only problem was persuading my children that the product wasn't smelly, wouldn't have to be left overnight and didn't involve tediously combing through their long hair for ages. They simply couldn't believe that it would take such a short time to rid them of the nits and both enjoyed having the product massaged into their hair.

Answering the first lot of questions:

  1. Who in your family is being treated for head lice? Please include gender and age
2 daughters 8 and 6 years old
  1. Is this the first time they've had head lice? If no, how many times have they had head lice?

No, we have had them off and on since about June

  1. What treatments have you tried in the past?
We have been using Hedrin and Nitty Gritty comb Secondly about Lyclear Treatment Shampoo:
  1. How easy did you find using the fine toothed comb?
Fairly easy
  1. How did Lyclear Treatment Shampoo compare to other treatments you've used in the past? Please note Lyclear is clinically proven to kill 100% of head lice after the second treatment is complete. For each of the following statements please say if Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was better, about the same or worse than other treatments you may have used:
a. Effective at removing most head lice and eggs Now after the second treatment, the hair is looknig better and seems to have got rid of eggs and no new nits b. Ease of use Pretty easy, it was fairly easy to apply and to cover the whole head and hair and to see whether the whole of the hair - both my daughters have lots of hair c. Convenience Fairly because it only needs to be left on for 10 minutes rather than a whole day d. Greasiness of treatment Very greasy and oily, my hands were dripping with oil and I had to be careful that my daughters didnt lean their heads on anything during the 10 minute waiting time otherwise that would have been marked by the oil e. Ease of washing out treatment Fairly easy but I needed to use quite a lot of shampoo to make sure it was all out
  1. Please provide more details if you felt Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was worse than previous treatments for any of the above:
  2. Did you like the fragrance or smell of Lyclear Treatment Shampoo?
I dont think that I particularly noticed the smell so it probably wasnt too overpowering
  1. Any other comments on initial use?
It left my daughters' hair quite soft!
  1. Did your child like the shampoo? Please say what they thought
THey liked the fact that they didnt have to sleep with the treatment on their hair, didnt really comment otherwise on the shampoo
fruitcorner · 11/09/2013 22:34

Having also done the second treatment, I will answer the next lot of questions:-
Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?

Convenient
Easy to Use
Definitely not non-greasy as it was very oily but that I didnt really mind the grease.
I liked that it was quick to use and for me easier to apply than using the mousse treatment that I had previously use and which I found difficult to apply effectively.

  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment?

Seems to have been so far

  1. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain

I found it easier to use, I am hoping it was more effective but I did second treatment in last day or so, so will continue to wet comb with Nitty Gritty comb to get rid of any that are lingering

  1. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain

Possibly although it is fairly expensive and although it states that it is for 8 applications, we have used bottle on 2 daughters with long hair. On the other hand, better to spend more money on something that works than less on somethign that is less effective.

  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain

Yes but not as unarguably the best, rather that is was easy, convenient and acceptable to my daughters and seems to have worked.

  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?

Really coat the hair, use more than is recommended, use with Nitty Gritty Comb whiCH I think is better than the comb supplied.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 12/09/2013 09:05

It was effective, hassle free, convenient, and easy to use. Bit greasy but not as greasy as others.

Combing after 2nd application there were no adult lice (crawling before 1st) but were some immature lice. Some eggs were still left so I feel a 3rd treatment is necessary.

Definitely easier to use and very easy to wash out.

Would definitely consider buying again but feel it is a bit expensive . If under £12 would definitely buy. Would rather pay less and not have the comb which is ok but not as good as nitty gritty.

Yes, I would definitely recommend it to others.

Don't use too much, it does work. Leave on for the full ten minutes. Wash hair a second time as it looks like the lyclear foam is washed out when it is still clinging to the hair. As regards comb the nitty gritty one is more effective.

  1. Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?
Please copy any relevant answers that apply in your post and add any additional comments a. Effective- Seemed very effective after first treatment but still found a few live ones b. Convenient-Very convenient c. Easy-to-use=Was easy to use d. Hassle-free-Was hassle free compared to other treatments e. Non-greasy-A little greasy but easy to wash out
  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment?

After 2nd treatment the girls have still been scratching and I have still found baby lice on myself so not effective

  1. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain

I did initially think it was more effective as the lice were jumping off during 1st treatment. We did clear a lot out and they were dead unlike other treatments we have used.Still found some on us during 2nd treatment though

  1. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain

May buy it again but there wasn't enough to do 2 treatments on 3 of us

  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain

Yes I think I would recommend

  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?

Use a different comb

a. Effective yes, so far

  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment? Yes, seems to be
  2. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Yes, as they don't seem to have come back again
  3. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain. Probably not as it is expensive, so I would probably stick to combing with conditioner
  4. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain. Yes but I would say it is still expensive, more so than combing with conditioner
  5. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?
Use it twice, and combine with conditioner as well
florencebabyjo · 12/09/2013 16:50

Firstly about head lice:

  1. Who in your family is being treated for head lice? Please include gender and age DD age 2 and a half
  2. Is this the first time they've had head lice? If no, how many times have they had head lice? The first time
  3. What treatments have you tried in the past? I have been struggling with wet combing but can't seem to get them all

Secondly about Lyclear Treatment Shampoo:

  1. How easy did you find using the fine toothed comb? The comb was bendy and I didn't feel like it was effective. Maybe metal would have been better
  2. How did Lyclear Treatment Shampoo compare to other treatments you've used in the past? Please note Lyclear is clinically proven to kill 100% of head lice after the second treatment is complete. For each of the following statements please say if Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was better, about the same or worse than other treatments you may have used:
a. Effective at removing most head lice and eggs Yes! They were droppig out on her pillow, disgusting but good! b. Ease of use It was easy but greasy feeling c. Convenience I liked the speed of application and that it didn't have to be on for ages. d. Greasiness of treatment It did feel pretty greasy and got everywhere! It was also dribbly e. Ease of washing out treatment It washed out very easily
  1. Please provide more details if you felt Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was worse than previous treatments for any of the above: It was definitely easier and less time consuming than combing twice a day
  2. Did you like the fragrance or smell of Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Yes
  3. Any other comments on initial use? It was much easier to use on a young child who was having trouble keeping still for the length of time it took to wet comb.
  4. Did your child like the shampoo? Please say what they thought
She didn't really have an opinion.
Bonkerz · 12/09/2013 19:44

Sorry I am late to this. Things got manically busy :0(
Ok first feedback

  1. Who in your family is being treated for head lice? Please include gender and age: daughter age 7 also myself as a precaution.
  1. Is this the first time they've had head lice? If no, how many times have they had head lice? No, the local nit colony seem to love my dds thick clean hair!
  1. What treatments have you tried in the past? Tea tree, shampoo.....I tend to avoid chemicals as have nightmares about that, stinky prioderm cream my mum used to use!

Secondly about Lyclear Treatment Shampoo:

  1. How easy did you find using the fine toothed comb? The comb was fab. I loved the long metal teeth as dd has thick hair so I felt more confident that this could deal with the hair and not break like the plastic ones.
  1. How did Lyclear Treatment Shampoo compare to other treatments you've used in the past? Please note Lyclear is clinically proven to kill 100% of head lice after the second treatment is complete. For each of the following statements please say if Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was better, about the same or worse than other treatments you may have used:

a. Effective at removing most head lice and eggs.......better
b. Ease of use......same
c. Convenience.......worse only because i would have to go chemist first but always have conditioner in
d. Greasiness of treatment......not at all
e. Ease of washing out treatment.......same

  1. Please provide more details if you felt Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was worse than previous treatments for any of the above: the fact that I didn't have to spend days even weeks combing was a blessing as the shampoo did what it said it would and killed the beasties!
  1. Did you like the fragrance or smell of Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Nice pleasant smell, not over powering.
  1. Any other comments on initial use? Fuss free and easy thanks to the comb
  1. Did your child like the shampoo? Please say what they thought....... She did comment it took less time and she preferred the metal comb to the plastic comb!
Bonkerz · 12/09/2013 19:51

And second feedback (initial treatment done 01/09/2013, second treatment done 08/09/2013)

  1. Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?
Please copy any relevant answers that apply in your post and add any additional comments a. Effective b. Convenient c. Easy-to-use d. Hassle-free e. Non-greasy All of the above really. It was a fuss free experience made easier by the strong long tooth comb and the effectiveness of the shampoo. On checking dds hair 7 days after initial treatment (I had combed through every day and pulled a few eggs and dead nits) I found no lice what so ever but used the shampoo anyway to make sure! None seen since!
  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment? Yes. See above comment
  1. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? I have been using the wet comb/conditioner method and lyclear was fab in comparison for speed and effectiveness and effort!
  1. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) The price point is slightly on the high side. It would depend how riddled she was before I spent that much. I wet comb regular and use tea tree spray so would prefer to prevent than cure but would consider buying if lots of nits.
  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Yes I would but the ££ is an issue.
  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?
Comb effectively.
Stupidquestionsaplenty · 13/09/2013 09:45

Sorry for the delay in feedback, non sleeping children aplenty here Hmm

  1. Who in your family is being treated for head lice? Please include gender and age
Dd 9 and ds 5, though I did myself too as I'm paranoid.
  1. Is this the first time they've had head lice? If no, how many times have they had head lice?
First time for ds, dd had them once before when she was about 5.
  1. What treatments have you tried in the past?
We've always just used a nitty gritty comb

Secondly about Lyclear Treatment Shampoo:

  1. How easy did you find using the fine toothed comb? I thought the comb was rubbish tbh. It got no eggs out at all, so I resorted to using the nitty gritty first.
  2. How did Lyclear Treatment Shampoo compare to other treatments you've used in the past? Please note Lyclear is clinically proven to kill 100% of head lice after the second treatment is complete. For each of the following statements please say if Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was better, about the same or worse than other treatments you may have used:
a. Effective at removing most head lice and eggs worse b. Ease of use about the same c. Convenience about the same d. Greasiness of treatment. Much much worse e. Ease of washing out treatment worse
  1. Please provide more details if you felt Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was worse than previous treatments for any of the above: obviously a nitty gritty is very easy but we seemed to have super nits this time and just couldn't get rid of them. The comb that came with lyclear was all but useless and that didn't get me off to a good start. It also felt very greasy and even though I washed it out with regular shampoo afterwards our hair looked lank for a few days.
  2. Did you like the fragrance or smell of Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? I didn't really mind it
  3. Any other comments on initial use? Bit of a faff and very greasy
  4. Did your child like the shampoo? Please say what they thought they were both very impatient by the time it was ready to wash off, but compared to the nit treatments I remember from my childhood it was completely inoffensive
Stupidquestionsaplenty · 13/09/2013 09:50

And the update

  1. Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?
Please copy any relevant answers that apply in your post and add any additional comments a. Effective b. Convenient c. Easy-to-use d. Hassle-free e. Non-greasy I did find it easy, much easier the second time when I knew what I was doing. It was also effective as a try with the nitty gritty last night revelled clear heads on us all. But it wasn't particularly hassle free, I found the comb very frustrating as I knew it just wasn't as effective as the nitty gritty, and I found it very oily.
  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment?
Yes, all gone (hopefully forever)
  1. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain
It certainly made the difference this time, knowing it was actually killing the nits was reassuring, rather than having to rely on not missing any with the nitty gritty.
  1. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain
It's very expensive and I'd balk at the price a little, but needs must when it comes to nits.
  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain
Yes. I'd recommend the nitty gritty as a first resort but this did the job.
  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment? Maybe don't do it in the bathroom initially. Get them to sit in front of the tv while it works, and only then march off to the bathroom. That way they didn't really notice. And get a decent nit comb to go with it.

All selected testers who add at least two lots of feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win £250 worth of Love2Shop vouchers.

  1. Overall how did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? Which of the following words would you use?

Wouldn't say the best at the first application. Have seen the eggs floating dead. DD was scratching still after the first application and had to go for the second treatment. It is been 5 days after the second application and Scratching seems to have reduced a bit but I am doing the dry combing almost everyday and wet combing once in two days. Will post the net result in another 5 days time.

a. Effective at removing most head lice and eggs
lice did come out faint/dead. couldn't manage to get eggs but have seen them sticked the hair as dead. Might have to comb better i think. After the second application the scratching reduced.
b. Convenient
washing my DD's hair was always a nightmare, felt it was tangled more after wash.
c. Easy-to-use
My daughter has a long hair and takes quite a good amount of shampoo. oil based made it easy to apply.
d. Hassle-free
To avoid greasy hair, may have to wash twice. I don't think anything is hassle free when dealing with a long hair :(
e. Non-greasy
More Greasy though. Because it was over the weekend, I didnt really bother to shampoo twice and left it just making sure that it is washed thoroughly.

  1. Did you find that Lyclear Treatment Shampoo was effective at killing all head lice and their eggs after the second treatment?
Not all but most. A bit of dry combing is still continued. Should be a good effect in a weeks time.
  1. If you have treated head lice before, did you find Lyclear Treatment Shampoo more effective than previous treatments? Please explain
I have only used wet combing before and Yes, Using Lyclear was useful and effective.
  1. If your child or someone in your family caught head lice again would you buy Lyclear Treatment Shampoo? (RRP £14.99) Please explain
A Bit expensive really. Wish she doesn't get any more. I would prefer to go for a smaller bottle and continue wet combing considering the price unless she has a very bad scratchy head.
  1. Would you recommend Lyclear Treatment Shampoo to other people? Please explain
Yes definitely. Though it was not faster it is effective. So will definitely mention this to friends. Not sure if they would prefer to wait for 2 weeks to clear all the lice.
  1. What are your top tips for getting the most out of the treatment?
Wet combing did help to get the lice that were floatin/fainted. I am not happy with the comb provided, The one I buy from supermarket for 30P works great as it has very fine toothed comb and I had to use it instead of the one provided.

Thanks
