I've been testing the bathroom cleaner

How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to use?

Easy, but at first I found it a bit difficult to gauge how much was coming out with a sponge held over the top. I know now that one pump is probably enough

How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

Not very, to be honest! I wiped over the top of the cistern which was just a bit dusty and it coped with that fine but then I used it on the sink which had soap residue and water marks (ie. really needed a "proper" clean) and it didn't cope with that so well. I felt like I really needed to scrub with the sponge and it didn't come up so shiny as it would with my usual cleaner (a Cif bathroom spray)

I feel that I would literally only use this for touch-ups, like wiping the cistern or toilet handle and just grabbing the spray when there is actual dirt to clean. However, I do think it'll be useful in the toilet area, especially for a quick wipe of the loo seat with a bit of toilet paper, after DS has sprinkled!

Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

I've only been using it today but I suspect that I'll probably use it once a day for wiping the toilet which is more than usual. I can't see myself using it much more in the bathroom but I'll post again if I do.

The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?

Not at that price, no. For quick toilet wipes I'd use anti-bacterial wipes which are much cheaper. I'd have to still buy my usual bathroom cleaner

Mr Muscle Touch-Up cleaner is currently available for the kitchen and bathroom. Would you like Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner for other areas of your house? If so, which areas?

The kitchen one might be more useful. My under-sink cupboard is rammed with cleaning products and I'm often rummaging around trying to find the right cleaner! Having something right there to use on quick clean-ups would be helpful.

What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

For the bathroom version, not much really!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?

No. It's a bit gimmicky. There's no great advantage over using a spray cleaner. I'm also not keen on the design as DS (5) is fascinated by it and wants to have a go Hmm As with all cleaning products, I'll keep it out of his reach but his interest in it does put me off

Ooh, my parcel arrived today! Didn't think I had been chosen! Will get to testing!

  • How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to use?
I found it really easy to use once i've worked out how to work the pump down method.
  • How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
It actually surprised me, it worked really well and made my bathroom sparkle with minimal effort.
  • Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
Yes I did use it more often because it was nice enough to leave out on the bathroom windowsill and easy to quickly use for small jobs.
  • The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes I would buy this product. It seems appropriately priced and does the job. I like the design of the bottle.
  • What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
I liked the deisgn of the packaging and the method of dispensing the product.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?
If it came up in conversation I'd have no problem saying that I like the product.
GwendolineMaryLacey · 28/08/2013 15:42

Yay bathroom cleaner arrived today. Haven't been home yet to test it so marking place for later.

Maggietess · 28/08/2013 15:43

How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to use?

Very easy to dispense although I did wonder whether one pump was enough to create an antibacterial clean (as on the back it says to ensure you have dispensed enough to leave the surface wet for 5 seconds...I did find myself counting to 5 and wondering was it wet or just damp.... Confused ).

How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

Great, just as good as ordinary kitchen spray but smells much much nicer (Citrus and it's lovely fresh citrus but not a fake smell, smells real). Cleaned the kitchen fine - only reservation is whether I've used enough to get an antibacterial clean as I noted above. Maybe it's the same with dettol etc that you need to use a certain amount and they just haven't told me that on the rear!

Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

I've been using it as regularly as I would normally use a spray I think, perhaps a little more since it sits out on the worktop rather than being away in the cupboard. Clever idea.

The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes I probably would buy it again as I liked it, although that does seem a little dear. I might keep an eye out for offers.

Mr Muscle Touch-Up cleaner is currently available for the kitchen and bathroom. Would you like Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner for other areas of your house? If so, which areas?

I'm definitely going to get the bathroom one. I think a touch up cleaner would be really useful to tide you over between cleans. DH might even try it! Wink
A polish version would be handy. The kitchen one says it does windows although I haven't tried it yet.

What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

Fragrance & convenience of having a small and not too ugly bottle sitting next to the sink.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes I would. Although I acknowledge there's a touch of the gimmick about it as it really doesnt do anything different to a spray cleaner, for convenience and smell and the bathroom version I'd definitely recommend.

Kerfuffled · 28/08/2013 16:14

I used the bathroom cleaner.

How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to use?

Very easy. The design is brilliant, it's almost inviting you to use it. It's so easy to just have a quick wipe around when you're in the bathroom.

  • How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

Very effective. It left the surfaces looking shining and clean with very little effort.

  • Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

Yes, a lot more! I tended to use it every day, not necessarily for the whole bathroom but if I thought something needed a quick wipe.

  • The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?

I think so although I do think I will get through it quite quickly so it may not be cost effective in the long run.

  • Mr Muscle Touch-Up cleaner is currently available for the kitchen and bathroom. Would you like Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner for other areas of your house? If so, which areas?

I can't think of any but I could be convinced.

  • What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

So easy to use and made me much more inclined to clean the bathroom.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes, because it's easy to use and effective. However I don't know if cleaning freaks (of which I'm definitely not one) would be as impressed as I feel some of them may prefer more traditional methods ie Superstrong anti bacterial bleach sprays and lots of scrubbing. This is almost too easy!

helenthemadex · 28/08/2013 17:28
  • How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to use?
it was really easy to use, I really like the fact that you can stick toilet paper on the top to clean the loo then flush it away
  • How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
very good, I used it to clean the toilet, bath and sink
  • Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

I have used this in place of my normal cleaner because its so easy to use. I have to clean the toilet seat a few times a day because children dribble this was easy to use and Im sure it will be less wasteful than spray that goes everywhere

  • The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?

its quite pricey, but possibly I would keep it to use on the toilet seat

  • Mr Muscle Touch-Up cleaner is currently available for the kitchen and bathroom. Would you like Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner for other areas of your house? If so, which areas?

not sure really, maybe polish

  • What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

it was easy to use,

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?

yes probably because of how easy it was to use and

MaxinePeakedistrict · 28/08/2013 17:41

Thanks for the free Bathroom touch-up!

Easy to use once I had enough toilet paper to prevent it spurting on the counter top. It seemed effective and is definitely very convenient and I know the bathroom will be more consistently clean with it around.

Price seems about right tho I usually wait for special offers and would like one for every loo in the house.

It was well -designed and I think I would recommend it to elderly parents as a helpful product for them to keep on top of the cleaning without the bending and effort of getting out normal cleaning products.

I'd buy the kitchen one if there was a "green" non-chemically one.

DoItTooJulia · 28/08/2013 18:55
  1. It was dead easy to use!
  1. It was really effective, perfect for cleaning the loo seat after ds had been!
  1. I'm still using it, and yes, so far I've used it more than my normal cleaners!
  1. It is a bit pricey, but it does do a good job, so would probably buy it, but hopefully when it's on offer.
  1. I can't think of anywhere else...although a non smelly high hair one could be good.
  1. I think I liked the fact it was easy, the up squirt element is great and the fact you can use it with loo roll which is flush able is brilliant.
  1. I would most definitely recommend it.

Thank you...I probably wouldn't have ever bought this to try, so you've introduced me to something new!

SockPinchingMonster · 28/08/2013 18:57

Thanks for the bathroom cleaner - received a few days ago.

How easy or difficult to use?
Easy to use, had to pump it a few times at first as didn't feel that i was getting much product on my cloth but was better after i had pumped it a bit.

How effective?
I found the product very effective. I have used it to wipe around the sink after the children had cleaned their teeth, and also around the toilet seat. Seemed to bring both areas up sparkling and smelt nice and fresh too.

Did you use Mr Muscle Touch Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products?
No, as i don't think it is designed to clean a whole bathroom - it is ok for touching up a small area (i.e. sink, toilet seat) but would not be practical enough to clean a large area like the bath for example. Therefore i still used my normal products to clean the bathroom every day but used this inbetween to just freshen bathroom up.

RRP £2.99, Would you buy again?
I wouldn't buy at £2.99 as i think that is a little expensive and i generally buy bathroom products cheaper (whatever is on offer) - if this product was on offer i may purchase it.

Would you like Mr Muscle Touch up cleaner to be available for other areas of the house?
No, I think kitchen and bathroom are the main areas where touch ups are required throughout the day - would be pointless to make it for other areas of the house.

What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch Up Cleaner?
I liked the smell, was lovely and fresh which is very important for a cleaning product. I liked the ease of use, but then again i had to make sure it was kept on a high shelf as i had visions of my children pressing down on the bottle and then of course there is nothing to stop them getting the product all over their hands.

Would you recommend to family/friends?
I'm not sure - I can't see it being a product I would purchase regularly because of the price and the fact that other bathroom products will clean my entire bathroom rather than a spot. I may recommend if i saw it on offer.

camtt · 28/08/2013 19:01

I've started carrying mine between bathrooms which is a good sign as it means I find it useful. But agree it might not last all that long at this rate.

waitingforgodot · 28/08/2013 19:08
  • How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to use?
very easy. Loved the fact that I didnt have to tilt at an angle. Wonder if it will still be as effective when nearly empty though?
  • How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
It did the job! Left everything nice and clean in bathroom
  • Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
Yes probably as its sitting out in the bathroom so easy to just clean and go!
  • The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes, I will buy again. Seems like a competitive price.
  • Mr Muscle Touch-Up cleaner is currently available for the kitchen and bathroom. Would you like Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner for other areas of your house? If so, which areas?
no
  • What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
The scent was very subtle unlike other bathroom cleaning products.
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?
Yes I think I would.
littlemonkeychops · 28/08/2013 20:33

Yay mine arrived today! Thank you!!

I've tested the kitchen version.

How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to use?
Very easy, just hold a piece of kitchen towel over the dispenser and push down. It'd like to know if it's essential to "lock" it between uses. I don't bother locking traditional spray bottles but i'm not sure if this would evaporate if unlocked??

How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
Very effective. Made quick work of the work tops without smears, and left the hob gleaming!

Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
Definitely, so quick/convenient, using this will mean the kitchen won't need a thorough clean so often too which is great.

The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?
It is a lot for what is at the end of the day just a kitchen spray but I will definitely get it when on offer and the convenience will certainly tempt me to keep buying it. Whether or not i'd buy it normally will also depend how long the bottle lasts so i'll have to see.

Mr Muscle Touch-Up cleaner is currently available for the kitchen and bathroom. Would you like Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner for other areas of your house? If so, which areas?
Not really, apart from hoovering/mopping the floors there's only dusting/polishing, which i don't do more than once every week or too (if that!!) so getting products from the under the sink that often isn't really inconvenient.

What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
Definitely the bottle, convenient and nice enough to leave out by the washing up liquid etc. I'd like an apple fragrance please!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?
Yes I would because I love it!!

timidviper · 28/08/2013 20:37

I've just had an email to say I have been picked for this test! Still waiting for the Mr Muscle though.

AllThatGlistens · 28/08/2013 20:53
  1. Really easy to use, efficient and no waste/ spillage
  2. V effective, stains and dirt were wiped away effortlessly.
  3. Yes, I am using it more often than my usual bathroom cleaner, usually have a quick wipe around with it daily.
  4. It is pricey, but will buy it when I see it on offer.
  5. A polish/ glass cleaning version (mirrors etc) would be v useful.
  6. The efficient of the dispenser, no messing or spills.
  7. Yes I would recommend it to friends, especially when it's on offer.

I can't think of anywhere else I would use it

It doesn't look like a cleaner!

Yes because it works and is long lasting (better than wipes)
DefiniteMaybe · 28/08/2013 21:04

I've still not received mine Sad

DameEdnaBeverage · 28/08/2013 21:11

Me neither Sad
There was a loud banging on the door early this morning but by the time my Mr Muscle (dh) woke up and got to the door all he saw was a van driving off. There was no note or anything left so I don't know if that was my delivery or not.

Harpy0728 · 28/08/2013 22:54

I found it easy to use. Although the first time I sprayed too much and it went through the tissue. It quicker and easier to use then the bottle as it only needs 5 minutes to work rather than 15 minutes.

It looks very nice in my new blue bathroom. I think it is a bit expensive. I would recommend to others

MylovelylifeRocks · 29/08/2013 07:50

How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner
On the first attempt I didn't' cover the top properly and managed to squirt myself. But on subsequent attempts I found it easy and efficient. The kids were able to use it easily.

How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
I thought it was quite effective. Left surfaces shiny and mostly smear free.

Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
Yes much more regularly as was so easy to use and portable too.

The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?
I think I would be unlikely to buy it at £2.99 as the is a little to much for me. I may buy it on offer. Though I think I almost used it too much, as it was so accessible. I would probably try to resist as it went quite quickly.

Mr Muscle Touch-Up cleaner is currently available for the kitchen and bathroom. Would you like Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner for other areas of your house? If so, which areas?
Perhaps a multi surface cleaner, though I did use my bathroom cleaner on a variety of surfaces with great success.

What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?
Easy to use, portable.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?
yes probably due to accessibility and ease of use.

whattodoo · 29/08/2013 08:53

I'm using the bathroom version.
I love the packaging, it doesn't look too out of place in my bathroom. And its very easy to use.
It's very effective for wipe over jobs, but not as good on the nitty gritty stuff like getting rid of caked on soap.
I use it more regularly than my usual clean, but I was actually comfortable with the frequency of my bathroom cleaning, so in actual fact it is just meaning I'm going to end up spending more on cleaning equipment!
I think the cost is quite high, and I wouldn't buy it unless I saw it BOGOF. I think its a 'nice to have' rather than necessary product.
I'd be interested to try the kitchen version though - I think I'd make far more use of it and it'd be handy to have beside me when I'm splashing the bolognese around! I can't think of anywhere else I'd like to see a version for.

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 29/08/2013 10:33

I have just received the kitchen one in the post his morning. Wasn't expecting it as I'd not had an email, but thank you!

How easy or difficult did you find the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to use?

*Very easy, so easy that four year old DD has been doing the cleaning. Apparently it's the same one she saw in the shop in 'Fairy World', her imaginary place. Hmm

How effective did you find Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

yes, very effective. Lovely smell, left surfaces clean and smear free

Did you find that you used Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner more regularly than your other cleaning products or not? If so, how often did you use Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

I expect it will be used regularly. I like the bottle design so it's not relegated to under the sink. Likely that I will use it every time I do/make something in the kitchen - before and after - as it's on the side and it'll be automatic

The RRP for the Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner is £2.99, do you think you'll be likely to buy it again or not? If so, why? If not why not?

I think that's quite expensive tbh, a pound cheaper and I would definitely buy it. Though I do like it, so it's likely that I'll buy it anyway as it is a little goes a long way sort of thing.

Mr Muscle Touch-Up cleaner is currently available for the kitchen and bathroom. Would you like Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner for other areas of your house? If so, which areas?

Yes please - a magic glass one would be good, and a floor one too

What did you like most about Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner?

Ease of use. Nice packaging and it does the job.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Mr Muscle Touch-Up Cleaner to your friends/family? If so why? If not, why not?

If it came up in conversation, I would yes. For all the reasons I've already listed - easy to use, does the job etc

Raahh · 29/08/2013 10:41

The kitchen one has arrived this morning...

will use in a bit and report back.Grin

mattaz · 29/08/2013 11:09

I tested the kitchen one: thanks!

I found It very easy to use, I liked the pump and design but I did have to pump it a few times to see how much came out and to make it flow a bit better.

It was really good on my draining board and surfaces. I did the front of my washing machine and front of the oven and it was very effective. I have toddlers that like to press buttons and generally dirty things up.
I did my hob and it wasn't as good on anything burnt on but I guess it is a touch up cleaner. I also used it on the table after the children had eaten. I'm not sure about this too often as not sure if its as safe as something like a dettol wipe if children are eating off it.

I will use it more often, I like it in the kitchen and did the job. Used daily.

I think it is quite expensive. I would buy it if it was on offer. I could get another cleaner for cheaper. The bottle is nice but it wouldn't make me Pay the rrp for it.

I would like to try the bathroom one. It would be nice to have one that I knew was safe for child areas or toys also.
Also a stronger one for more stubborn dirt.

I liked the product and the bottle. It was really good on my washing machine and was very good on the dirt /dust that gathered on the top of it under our kitchen surface. I hadn't reached that far under before but figured it was a good test! It also made the metal draining board shine.

If it was cheaper I would recommend.
