Sorry this is late, but my kids have been sick and we haven't really felt like cooking/eating much apart from cereal, toast and plain pasta or rice.
Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try? - I tried the Garlic & herb crunchy chicken bites + cheese & chive dip. We only tried the chicken part the kids refused to even entertain tasting the dip.
How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest). We had a little accident and burnt it a bit, but despite that this was still a hit with 4 out of the 5 of us in the house. I would probably rate it 3 out of 5 as we ate it, but could definitely be upgraded to a 4 if we paid a little more attention when cooking it next time.
What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product? Myself and my husband really enjoyed this, although I think he would have liked a little more heat. Our 10 year old enjoyed it the most, closely followed by the baby (she's almost 2). Our 4 year old was having one of his moods and refused to try it, but since he is hit and miss over eating plain chicken nuggets it doesn't say anything about the product we tested.
How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use? My husband cooked it but he said it was really simple and easy to follow, but we need to adjust the cooking time a little next time and pay closer attention.
Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients? We followed the recipe on the packet except for leaving out the dip. We didn't actually bother to serve it with anything else, it just became a quick after school snack when we had some chicken mini fillets to use up.
Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not? I think this one is a little bit fiddly for our usual mealtimes. We would usually save something that had multiple steps to prepare it for a weekend or my husbands day off. With his work shifts we often eat late and food has to be as simple and quick as possible.
Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not? I really like the concept of these meals, and it's always nice to try new flavours and find something the kids enjoy. Although since we only used half of it I would probably look for seasonings or cook in the bag meals rather than this 2in1 mix in the future unless it was on promotion in my local supermarket.
Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it? I would say that we liked it, I could see it being something we might do for a party as finger food or a snack rather than a main meal.
