Just to add to my previous comment Last night I found an old school bag tucked away in the corner of a wardrobe. A blue biro has leaked into it, it was full of red paint stains and the interior was pretty well stuck together.

I soaked it overnight and ran it through the washer today.

There are two small patches of blue ink left and the rest has gone completely.

I'm a total convert now Grin

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I liked it a lot. Small, compact and very easy to use.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Perhaps the price!

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I thought it smelt lovely, and the clothes smelt nice when dry too. Cleaning power was no better or worse than my normal powder.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would. I'd say all the above!

EROD · 08/12/2012 21:05

1what was you're overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump - the bottle is very compact so ideal for our compact kitchen! The washing came out clean, even the poo stains on my baby's white baby grows. The clothes did feel slightly stiff so next time I'm going to use a fabric conditioner as well. ( I like my baby's clothes to be nice and soft against her skin)

2 is there anything you would change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The price. If it included fabric conditioner, that would help reduce waste and bottles in my kitchen if I only needed to us one product.

3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I like my clothes to smell fresh and they smelt lovely. As I said earlier, the liquid managed to tackle baby poo which is the toughest stain I could throw at it.

4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundy Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? Yes I would recommend it because it tackled my washing as well as other non bio washing liquids I have used. I would say that the compact bottle is a big selling point and it's delicate on the family's skin. Though I would tell them to keep an eye out for special offers as its on the pricey side.

HippoPottyMouth · 08/12/2012 21:06

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Very nice smell, and you can smell it lightly on the washing too, without conditioner. I couldn't bring myself to only use 4 pumps though, always seemed to need one ( or two) for luck

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
No

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance - lovely
Cleaning power, standard. Did not lift tomatoey stains.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes. It seems like a fairly natural product, unlike the ethics behind it, and it beats Ecover by quite a way (eg. By having a nice smell and cleaning to some extent)

spottymoo · 08/12/2012 21:41

Thanks for the info I never got an email for some reason ill give it a whirl in the morning Grin

natalie66 · 08/12/2012 22:00

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I usually use washing bubbles. I liked that the bottle was so small and that you could measure the amount needed with the pump (unless it was for the washing machine drawer, see Q4)

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Maybe have different fragrances and a refill bottle. It doesn't really stand out so maybe jazz up the bottle

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
I have a terrible sense of smell, but my children seemed to be happy with it. I was impressed that mucky marks on my work shirts came out, I was not expecting them to. I did put quite a bit on to soak the marks first though before washing it.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Yes, but I would only expect someone to pay a price comparable with other products. I would also warn that I had ended up always squirting the liquid on some clothes just before putting them in the machine in order to get the 4 pump dose done properly as when I tried to tilt it and pump into the machines drawer then the pump did not dispense the full dose and so I did extra doses.

All in all, I was happy with it and pleased with its cleaning ability.

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump? I love the pump!! Its great that I can use it one handed whilst fending off a toddler trying to change the wash programme with the other!
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? I prefer a more noticeable 'scent' so would change that.
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? I don't like the fragrance - its not strong enough or 'clean' enough for me - I like to be hit by the fragrance when I open the washing machine door! It seems to have washed the clothes fairly well but I've not washed anything majorly dirty!
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? Maybe on the basis of the pump alone but not for the actual washing liquid - its not really got that 'wow' factor.

BustyDeLaGhetto · 08/12/2012 23:48

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Lovely design, easy to use.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Needs to be gentler. It exacerbated my daughter's eczema so I had to stop using it. :(

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Both really nice - a fresh clean fragrance and noticeable results.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would, provided they didn't need a product suitable for sensitive skin.

Quick note about the packaging when it arrived - I understand Method to be an environmentally friendly brand but it was packaged in half a metric ton of Styrofoam (or polystyrene, maybe?). There is a biodegradable alternative to this using potato starch which I would much have preferred to see.

GoodKingWenSOLOslas · 09/12/2012 00:56

Have now done a white wash and it was no different in results than my usual. Do quite like the scent though.

Isaidhangonamin · 09/12/2012 07:38

Q1. Overall I have been extremely impressed with Method. I love the fact there is no measuring out ? just squirt it straight into the drum and go. Brilliant!

Q2. I really liked it so I don?t think I?d change anything.

Q3. The fragrance? Well at first I was a bit worried when the washing came out of the machine that it wasn?t heavily fragranced but once it was dry it smelt clean and fresh. This has been a big bonus to my husband who hates smelling girly Xmas Grin
The cleaning power? Amazing! The first load was muddy dog towels (really filthy!). I guess I had been a bit sceptical about the claims of its cleaning power but the towels came out the machine pristine. Astonishing really. Everything I have washed since has been clean and fresh.

Q4. I would definitely recommend Method to my friends and family. Why? It is so simple to use. It cleans beautifully. When all is said and done I have been using the same washing detergent for 25 years and I have been converted and will buy Method.

SiameseIfYouPlease · 09/12/2012 09:10
  1. I really like the small bottle, it fits nicely in my under sink cupboard :) its not bulky to drag home from the shops.
  2. I don't think I'd change anything. I'd like to try a different smell of there is one, I like floral smells :) 3)I like this smell though, I can smell it even through the fabric conditioner. It's cleaned everything nicely. 4)I have recommended it already, we were talking about green detergents, I'm not sure Methods' green credentials are as well known as Ecover.
StandUnderMyUmbrella · 09/12/2012 09:29

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?

I liked how it looked, the packaging size and the fact it was so easy to use - completely mess free and easy to store.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?

Maybe make the bottle size bigger or different sizes so you have a choice. I think for £6 the bottle size doesn't seem like value for money even if it is similar priced to other products that do the same amount of washes! Maybe would have liked a little scent.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

I didn't notice a scent at all, although i would have liked to. All the stains were removed and my clothes were cleaned thoroughly. Impressed!

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would probably explain to people about this new type of product that is used by pumping the liquid into the machine, rather than messy powder etc. I would probably say about how it only needs about 4 pumps instead of having to measure out and how clean it got my clothes!

Squigglywiggly · 09/12/2012 10:40

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
It was decent. In a nice sized container, which was easy and logical to use. Removed most stains including breast nappy poo stains, although sadly (as would rather use a more ethical / environmental product) I felt clothes were not quite as clean as they were after using normal detergent (fairy non bio gel).

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
Looked at price of refill and thought it seemed rather expensive. This would put me off buying it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Fragrance wise - I really wasn't that conscience of it. Not that this is main concern. I just like clothes to smell clean!
Cleaning power - it did not seem as good as my normal liquid detergent (see above), which would slightly put me off purchasing it.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
I would probably not recommend it at moment as has no unique selling point - except environmental angle. However price or refill would discourage me.

salcz · 09/12/2012 10:52

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I think the pump action is a good idea for dispensing the liquid but it doesn't work as you get to the bottom. Also, it didn't seem to be any better than my Sainsburys own liquid.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
It needs be be made clear somewhere if it is non-bio, etc as my baby has eczema and I was unsure about using it on his clothes.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
The fragrance wasn't over-powering but because I use fabric softener, it was irrelevant anyway. I don't think it cleaned any better than my usual liquid even though you do use less.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
Probably not because there are other, cheaper liquids that do the same job for a fraction of the cost.

foxy6 · 09/12/2012 11:46

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Method Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
love the easy pump bottle and the tiny amount needed, makes it seem like it will last forever. it cleaned well and the fragrance wasn't overpowering. I like that is also better for the environment. a nice product.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
no not about the product itself, but its a bit pricey for me with a big family and low income I wouldn't be able to afford it.

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
cleaned well the kids filthy muddy clothes cleaned nicely, no problems with its cleaning power and the fragrance was nice and mild and not too overpowering like it can with some other brands. I liked it.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
if it came up, yes I would recommend it as a cleaning product i have no problems with the product but the price is off putting.

Thevelveteenrabbit · 09/12/2012 12:12

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
Liked the pump design- easy to use
Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
smells quite strong before you use it
Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?
Cleans fine - no complaints
Fragrance - on washing when it comes out of machine - ok
Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?
would mention that i had used it and worked OK

hystericalandnotinagoodway · 09/12/2012 12:30

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I like the small size and the pump dispenser is very quick and easy to use.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid?
The price is a bit high for me

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power?

Fragrance is fine, I can't say that I really noticed it either way. Cleaning power is good on most things, although I have noticed a few things didn't come completely clean. I do tend to wash at a low temperature though so even my usual detergent won't get every mark out.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not?

I would recommend it on the grounds of convenience and ease of use, although possibly not on price.

FEEdec · 09/12/2012 12:46

Q1 What was your overall impression of the Methon Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump?
I was surprised how tiny the bottle was, I though this wont last long but was even more surprised how little of the liquid was needed for each wash. I did 3 large loads so added 6 pumps to the drawer and it looked a tiny amount, but it did the job easily! it washed as good as any other washing powder/ liquid I've used. I also like that its more environmentally friendly than my usual brand.

Q2 Is there anything you'd change about Method Laundry Liquid? its a little pricey, although similar price to Fairy which I use at the moment and love the smell of (so am happy to pay more for)

Q3 What did you think of the fragrance? And the cleaning power? The fragrance was pleasant and not overpowering. Cleaning power was great - as good as anything else I've used.

Q4 If it came up in conversation, do you think you would recommend Method Laundry Liquid to a friend/relative or not? If so, what would you say about it? If not, why not? yes I'd recommend it, it takes up minimal space it the cupboard, its green and cleans well.

billybear · 09/12/2012 13:54
