I loved the wipes, could do with being a bit larger but smell lovely and get the job done. I hate to admit this but I didn't notice that they weren't flushable :-( I would definitely purchase them again.

  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?

I had used ecover before as i like the idea of trying to be more environmentally friendly. Some have been excellent, some less so.Thier cream cleaner was particularly good for hobs etc, but i can't seem to get it anymore.

  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?

I do for bathrooms and for quick clean ups. Also for taking away on holiday and for trips out - great for picnic tables! Convenience then really.

  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?

On the table, in the kitchen, in the bathroom. They cleaned reasonably well, up there with the ones i usually use, but were too small so i always needed at least two, and too foamy for a lot of jobs.

  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?

I like to use antibac on the table and kitchen surfaces, so it is a bonus.

  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?

Packaging was fine and had all the right info. Didn't like the smell, i found it really sickly, but it was not too strong which was a good thing as many are very overscented. The wipes were very moist which was good, but as i got further through the packet they became very foamy and left foam streaks on everything i cleaned.

  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?

I put them in the bin. I hadn't clocked i could put them in the compost. Might do this is future.

  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?

Possibly if the wipes were bigger, but it would depend on the price. Wouldn't not recommend them, but probably wouldn't actively suggest them either as they are too small and foamy.

  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?

Not really.

  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?

3-4. Didn't like the smell, too small and too foamy, but cleaned well and environmentally better than a lot of products.

BlatherskiteOfTheLivingDead · 03/11/2012 10:03
  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?

I hadn't used any products before. I thought of them as a premium brand - more money because of the name and no better than the cheaper alternatives

  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?

I use bathroom/toilet wipes as I find the idea of keeping a cloth used to clean a toilet quite gross. I like to be able to flush them away. I have no idea if the Ecover wipes are flushable as it doesn't seem to say on the pack.

  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?

I tried them in the kitchen - where I found they weren't big enough or wet enough to do the job. They certainly wouldn't replace a sink full of hot, soapy water and a dishcloth for me.
I also tried them in the bathroom where they were a lot more successful. I used them for cleaning most things including the sink, the toilet and the toilet toddler seat and the bath. They work well on the sink, removing the soap scum and toothpaste and leave the taps nice and shiney. They worked well on the toilet too. It was easy to give it a quick wipe over and made things feel a lot cleaner. Same with the toddler seat. I didn't like them so much on the bath. The taps just didn't see to come clean enough and they didn't seem to help with the mildew-y areas.

  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?

I've been having some problems with my immune system recently so have been more worried about germs than normal. I do like to use anti-bacterial products in the kitchen and bathroom so I was happy that these wipes worked that way

  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?

The packaging way easy to use but the sticky on the tab will soon become unsticky with regular contact with the wipes. I would have preferred a harder plastic click lid like you get on some baby wipes. The wipes didn't mention whether they were flushable or not which was frustrating. I wasn't keen on the fragrance at first but it is growing on me and does smell 'clean' to me. It doesn't seem to last very long though. I haven't finished the pack yet so I'm not sure if they will retain their moisture right to the end. They do seem to be retaining their moisture so far though.

  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?

I have been putting mine in the bin or down the loo Blush We do have a food waste/garden waste collection from the council but are told specifically not to put tissues in so I doubt they'd be impressed with me putting in these wipes. We don't have a compost heap because we don't have enough space in the garden and are able to recycle through the council. Not flushable is a problem for me as I really, really wouldn't like to be wiping the loo and then hanging onto these wipes by sticking them in the bin. Outside to the general rubbish bin would be more of a chore too. Come to think of it, even if we did have a compost heap, I wouldn't be happy about having germy cloths sitting on it either.

  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?

I doubt it. I'll stick to my flushable toilet wipes I think for the reasons above. They're also cheaper and smell nicer. I doubt I'd recommend either unless someone was specifically asking after a more natural product.

  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?

Not really. I still think they're priced too high for what they are/do

  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?
  1. They're good but not great and overpriced in comparison to similar products.
JimbosJetSet · 03/11/2012 13:53
  1. I had used Ecover products once or twice before, if they were on offer - I was impresed with them but usually too expensive full price.
  1. Yes I use wipes, but occasionally - although convenient, they are too expensive to use regularly.
  1. I used them in the kitchen, bathroom and on the highchair. Effective in all situations.
  1. Yes I was glad they are anti-bacterial, but aren't all wipes/cleaning products? I'd have expected nothing less!
  1. Packaging, fragrance and moisture all good.
  1. In the bin - I didn't realise they could go anywhere else. I'd have been impressed if they were flushable but I didn't expect it.

7.I would buy the products, but only if they were on offer. I prob wouldn't recommend them but its not the sort of product I would recommend anyway .

8.No, but my perception was positive anyway.

  1. 4 - looses a point for the price.
AuntieBulgaria · 03/11/2012 16:13
  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?

No to using other Ecover products, probably thought they were a bit weedy.

  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?

Yes for kitchen surfaces, convenience.

  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?

Kitchen surfaces. I wasn't keen. Too foamy and small.

  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?

I would prefer things to be non-antibacterial. I think too much germ killing is a bad thing.

  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?

I haven't looked at the packaging, apart from the instructions to keep them upside down? The fragrance was more like baby bum-wipes. I imagine I would have been more keen to use them on a high chair, where I would have felt less comfortable about using my usual industrial lemon and chemical smelling flashwipes. they were too foamy to be moist for long enough.

  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?

they go in the household waste.

  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?

no, sorry I wouldn't, see above.

  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?

not really

  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?

  1. Before using them I thought they may not work very eell and might be too gentle to do anything. 2.I do currently use wipes to clean with. I use baby wipes because I find them convenient and good at quikly wipinng things over.I think they are value for money for their convenience.
  1. I used them in the bathroom (sink and toilet) and in the kitchen (surfaces, cooker top and fronts of cupboards and fridge etc.) They did not work well. As as example, the slow cooker overspilled so the next day I tried to use the wipes, they had very little effect, where as 2 sprays of supermarket value cleaner had it clean imediately.
  1. Itis not important to be antiba everytime I wipe down, I just want it to be clean. I worry about living too much of an antibac lifestyle.
  2. Would have heled to have a mark on the plastic showing the edge as they were had to open. I thought I would hate the smell, and would never have bought that fragrance, but actually they smelt quite nice. Still not convinced that I'm helping to save the world by using them. It is probably just a clever name to make you think that, a bit like those childrens fruit sweets and drinks that barely have any fruit in them. I got covered in the stickiness liquid which I didn't like I'm sue that can't be good for your skin. They were difficult to use as they were so small and squished up really quickly.
  3. I just put them in the bin out of habbit, but would usually aim to compost them. Would be interested to know how kng they took to decompose before composting them i.e. are they similar in time to grass, paper, what? Would never flush even if it were possible.
  4. No wouldn't recommend them. They didn't work to move marks. Didn't feel like value for money because they were so small.
  5. Still prepared to try ecover, but not holding my breath.
  6. A very low 1, they just didn't work very well and were hard to use.
lizzie712 · 04/11/2012 11:51
  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?
I have used Ecover products previously and have been impressed so I was keen to try these wipes.
  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?
I do use wipes currently, they are convenient, effect and don?t take up much space.
  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?
I have used them in the kitchen, they were very effective at removing grease and leave no residue.
  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?
Anti- bacterial is a real benefit, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. I don?t currently use anti-bac products but using these wipes has made me think about doing so.
  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?
The packaging is very easy to use, fragrance was good as it doesn?t smell of chemicals, the wipes had enough moisture but could do with being a bit thicker.
  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?
I put the wipes in the bin. I would not compost them or put them with food waste. It would be handy for them to be flushable when using them in the bathroom !!
  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?
I would definitely use them again, I like the environmentally friendly aspect and, as they are as effective as other brands, why not ! I would recommend this product without a doubt.
  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?
My perception of the brand has not changed, I have used Ecover products previously and been impressed.
  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?
4.5 stars ? as stated, they could be a bit thicker.
runnervt · 04/11/2012 11:54

1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before? I regularly use Ecover products and find they work fine. I like the low environmental impact.
2. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons? I don't use wipes as I find them wasteful and usually use reusable cloths.

3. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job? I used them on floors and toilet seats mostly. They worked ok but were quite wet and folded up quite easily. They did clean ok.

4. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene? Not that important. Other than soap I don't use any other anti-bacterial products.

5. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done? The packaging was fine and the fragrance was nice. They retained enough moisture, possibly too much.

6. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem? I put them in the bin. The packaging didn't say they were compostable although I might do that.

7. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why? If I wanted to buy wipes I might buy them. I haven't tried any other wipes so couldn't really recommend them as better than any others.

8. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how? No perception the same.
9. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes? 4

Elkieb · 04/11/2012 15:56

thank you for asking me to review the item, our feedback is as follows:

  1. Environmentally friendly but expensive.
  2. Not currently, but in the past. they are convenient put prone to drying out in the packaging even when sealed and stored upside down.
  3. We used them in the kitchen, bathroom and on the dining table.
  4. I don't usually seek an antibacterial product but it is a bonus.
  5. The packaging was clear, concise and colourful. We didn't like the fragrance- it was quite 'chemically' and I'm not sure whether pomegranete is a good fragrance or not. What does a pomegrante smell like anyway? My DH thought they were too wet, and remarked that the surfaces needed wiping down afterwards
  6. We put them in the general rubbish, not worried about them being non flushable
  7. We probably wouldn't buy them in the future- we have reverted back to using a cleaning spray and a cloth.
  8. We probably wouldn't recommend them to friends as didn't really think the product was brilliant (sorry)
  9. 3 out of 5
bearcub1 · 04/11/2012 16:29

1 I have used Ecover washing up liquid and kitchen cleaner before. I found during the time I used them the product to be ok, but other non environmentally products to clean better.
2 I always use wipes in my cleaning. I always use them when cleaning the toilet, bathroom floor, wiping down changing mat and potty. I like them as they are disposable and using a clean cloth every time.
3 I tested the wipes in the bathroom: toilet, floor, portable potty, changing mat, sink. They did the job equally as well as the current products i use.
4 quite important that they are anti bacterial and they kill bacteria. I use them in the bathroom, so would want bugs to be killed after using them.
5 found the pack easy to open and reseal. The wipes stayed moist until I had finished the job. I liked the bubbles that came from the wipe as it looked like it was cleaning and I could also see easily where I had already cleaned. I can't recall the fragrance as I type this, so it is neither offensive or particularly notable.
6 I disposed of the wipes in with the ordinary household waste. As I use them in the bathroom mostly, I would not think to dispose of them in with food waste which comes from the kitchen.
7 I would buy the product in the future, if the price is comparable to other products available. I would recommend them if I was talking to someone about cleaning. I don't think I would start up a conversation about them though!
8 yes, now having tried Ecover again, I would look at other products in the range and if comparable to other brands price wise, I would buy them.
9 I would give them 4 out of 5. I think they would get a 5 if the fragrance was more note worthy. I like the smell of cleaning products - it's like the fruit of my labour!!!

buffdudgie · 04/11/2012 18:05
  1. I use washing up liquid and laundry liquid and powder and also multi surface cleaner.
  1. I occasionally use wipes but am not convinced they are very environmentally friendly
3.I used them on the fridge and the loo.
  1. I wonder if they kill mould as well? I wonder if killing all bacteria is always a good thing as it gets rid of harmless bacteria which may protect us from more harmful ones.
  2. That was fine
6.compost heap
  1. might buy them in the future for yucky jobs I don't want to use washable cloths on but I prefer as a policy to use washable cloths, might recommend to a friend who was keen on wipes
  2. not really
  3. 4/5
polly164 · 04/11/2012 19:02
  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?
I have used Ecover products before, mainly the washing up liquid and fabric conditioner. Sometimes I feel that there products seem expensive, I would like to try more products in the Ecover range.
  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?
Generally I don't tend to use wipes as part of my cleaning routine. I do always take a pack away with me on holiday though, just so I can give surfaces a once over.
  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?
I used them on the bathroom units, kitchen worktops, around the bin. I found them especially useful for cleaning around the toilet daily. I like how they were very moist, however I did find them to be on the small side.
  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?
Yes, I do use antibacterial products in my cleaning routine, I love the feeling of knowing that my home is really clean. It is important to me that the products I use are antibacterial.
  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?
They packaging was fine, standard for this type of product. I like the fragrance of them also. The wipes certainly stayed moist whilst using them, I used a clean dry cloth in some areas after using them just to absorb and excess moisture. I do feel that the wipes would be better if they were bigger.
  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?
I just put them in the ordinary household waste bin, its not a problem that they can't be flushed. I don't flush any wipes so these were just the same
  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?
Yes I would buy the products in future and I would also recommend them. They did what I expected them to do in a caring way.
  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?
After using these I will try some of the other cleaning products in the range, it really makes me feel that green and friendly can also be effective and safe
  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?
4 stars, they need to be bigger to get 5!!
DoubleYew · 04/11/2012 23:06
  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before? Yes spray cleaning stuff and washing liquid. I like the fact they seem better for the environment but I don't know that much about chemistry so I don't really know what the difference is.
  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons? Sometimes, toddler who makes a lot of mess so they are convenient but I feel a bit guilty about the waste.
  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job? Kitchen floor, yes cleaned up well.
  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene? I think you can kill too many germs so this is not a major plus point for me.
  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done? Very moist which is not always the case, smell ok limey but couldn't really say I could smell pomegranete. Yes packaging fine.
  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem? Oh I actually hadn't seen they were compostable so that is a big plus for me, I will be putting the other ones on the compost heap.
  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why? Yes if it was a good price, might do but I don't tend to have these sort of conversations tbh.
  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how? Not really, always thought it was good.
  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes? 4

  1. Thought they were expensive but eco friendly and not particularly good. Used washing powder for son with eczema but it didn't help and irritated his skin.
  1. Occasionally when I cam feeling lazy, not the norm, probably buy them once a quarter.
  1. Used them in the kitchen and 1 bathroom - not great at cleaning the cooker top or stuck on food at the breakfast bar, even when used soon after spillage. OK in the bathroom except where there was lime scale.
  1. Fairly important in the kitchen where food is prepped, not elsewhere.
I use Dettol spray in the kitchen normally, for general everyday cleaning.
  1. Package was easy to use, info on the pack was fine, fragrance was pleasant and fresh but I found the wipes were very dry, even when stored upside down to help the moisture get to the top wipe - far too dry to clean effectively and I think that this was the bigger problem.
  1. I put the used wipes into our recycled food waste container. Not being flushable is not a problem for us as we have a septic tank so we flush nothing other than loo roll, but I'd rather not flush any paper or tissue product that cannot be easily torn by a young child, just seems wrong.
  1. I wouldn't buy them because they simply weren't effective enough at cleaning, not moist enough and needed many wipes to do anything at all and I wouldn't recommend for all those reasons. It may simply be perception but I like to feel that the cloth or wipe I'm using is wet enough to be wrung out or soak the surface as I need it.
  1. Unfortunately it has confirmed my perception that the products, though worthy, do not deliver on cleaning and if they fail to clean effectively I won't buy them.
  1. I'd give 2 stars just because they didn't clean very well.
hurricanewyn · 05/11/2012 08:33

Sorry I'm late - email went to spam and I forgot to check back Blush

1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before? I had used Ecover before because I liked the reduced environmental impact they give. I generally felt positive about using them.

2. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons? I don't - they always struck me as quite wasteful and poor value for money.

3. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job? I used them in the kitchen. They were good at using on greasy stains, but less so on burnt on food on the cooker top.

4. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene? I don't tend to worry too much about the anti-bac properties. If I am concerned, I use bleach.

5. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done? The fragrance was fine - it wasn't too overpowering. The packaging was ok. The wipes felt a bit too thin & wet. They bunched up quite quickly (but I don't normally use wipes - this could be what they do), so I felt I was using more of them than I expected to need.

6. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem? Not flushable isn't a problem. I wouldn't have flushed them even if it had said it was ok to do so. I imagine if they were, the wipes would need to be a lot thinner and probably less effective. I was throwing them in the bin until I read on here that they could go on the food waste. This should definitely be on the packaging as there's no indication that this can be done.

7. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why? I'm not sure I'd buy in the future - I like to give things a good scrub (or am heavy handed!) and they felt too insubstantial for that. Perhaps if they were on offer I might get a pack to have for quick spills etc as they are convenient, but not essential. If I had a friend with a small child/toddler I can see how they would be much more useful and may recommend them then.

8. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how? No. I think the fact they can be composted should be clearer though - I did wonder at the environmental credentials of a company that would advocate chucking the wipes, so I was glad that was cleared up. But, I would have been dubious about it otherwise.

9. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes? 3.5 - 4

  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?
Yes I have used washing up liquid and detergent. I generally liked but dont use often as they always seem expensive for the size of product. This is particulalry true for laundry products, being a family of four I do a lot of washing so a bottle of liqud only lasts a week, hence I buy brands that have much larger packets
  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?
Yes I use wipes in the kitchen and bathroom, for convenience and hygiene, I dislike the thought of using a cloth multiple times to clean a bathroom surface, with a wipe, you clean then dispose of it
  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?
They cleaned everything well. I even used them on my sons very muddy football boots and they came out suprisingly clean!
  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?
I use them for both, however it seems that all wipes and sprays claim to kill 99.9% of bacteria these days so the claim does not make this product stand out. People buy ecover because its seen as more environmentally friendly not because its a better product (in my opinion)
  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?
I liked the design of the packet and the smell of the wipe. however I found opening and sealing the packet a bit difficult. I imagine they would dry out if not sealed properly.I also found the wipes too small, you need to use two or three to clean anything.
  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem? I put them in the bin, I would not flush them even if the packet said you could so this is not an issue for me. I had not considered composting them, this is good to know.
  2. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?
I may if they are on offer. I currently buy large tubs of Kirkland wipes, I prefer these due to their size and the convenience of the packaging. They clean equally as well and both smell pleasant enough.
  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?
I have always thought of Ecover as a good brand and this product confirms what I thought, an average product that will do the jobs as advertised but with good ethics/ environmental standing
  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?
Its a three from me.

Thanks for letting me test, overall it is a pleasant product that I would be happy to use, I may keep some in the car especially for those muddy shoes!

1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?
I haven't used Ecover products before as I wasn't aware of the brand. Therefore I felt neutral about them

2. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?
I don't usually use anti-bacterial wipes, as the amount that I would go through (9yr old, 2yr old and 12 week old) is quite high! I also can't justify the price of wipes when a sponge and some washing-up liquid would suffice! I sometimes use cheap baby wipes if I'm pushed for time, or if I'm out and about and feeling selfconcious about the mess my kids are making

3. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?
I used them to clean DD1's highchair, the table and the surfaces in the kitchen. I was quite pleased at how well they cleaned the highchair and the kitchen surfaces. slattern for not wiping the kitchen cupboard doors regularly I found they frothed quite a bit, which I was surprised about. I felt they needed to be a bit sturdier in structure, as the wipe was knackered before it had finished frothing/the patch I was cleaning was clean. Going forward, I would use them to go over the surfaces one last time after a scrub-down with sponge & washing up liquid (my usual cleanser of choice!)

4. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?
I'm not adamant about using anti-bac products unless I'm pregnant

5. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?
Yes they stayed very moist, but needed to be sturdier. The packaging was fine, and informative enough. The fragrance was pleasing enough as well, not so strong that the kitchen/highchair/table stunk for half an hour after finishing cleaning.

6. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?
I don't buy flushable wipes anyway. I like that they are biodegradable, but as I live in a flat, a compost heap is a bit of a challenge to put them on! I put them in the bin.

7. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?
If it came up in conversation, I would mention them, but I can't recommend/comment on them based on price, as I don't know how expensive they are.

8. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?
Using these wipes has raised my awareness of the brand, as I didn't know about them beforehand. I would consider using them in the future but it depends on pricing as I don't buy anti-bac wipes as a rule.

9. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?
I would give them a 4.5, as they performed well enough, but could be sturdier, and would be too expensive for me to buy regularly.

  1. Had heard of them but wasn't sure if would be as good as my usual brands/products.
  1. I use wipes for quick clean ups around the house.
  1. I tested them in the bathroom, on kitchen work surfaces and to clean DD's scooter. They had enough product on them to do job but wipes themself were flimsy and too small.
  1. Anti-bacterial is important to me.
  1. Packaging just same as other brands and does the job. I quite liked the fragrance and found it fresh but DP wasn't so keen. The wipes were very moist and foamed well but let down by size and how flimsyness.
  1. I put them in with recycling but for bathroom would be handy to flush but normal brand can't be flushed or recycled so plus points for recycling.
  1. I wouldn't buy the wipes again unless made bigger and stronger. Wouldn't recommend to friend for same reason.
  1. Yes it has. Even though not keen on wipes for stated reasons would try other products as like the recycling factor and the fresh scent.
  1. Afraid it's a 2 star. Improve the material and size of wipes please.
TheSkiingGardener · 05/11/2012 11:25
  1. I hadn't used Ecover before. I just assumed they were an environmentally friendly brand and that the products were probably a bit less effective as a result.
  1. I do use wipes, for convenience as it makes the job very quick, and I hate cleaning, so quick is good.
  1. I used the wipes in the kitchen and dining room. They did the job.
  1. Anti-bacterial is good, but I wouldn't buy them just because of that. I have separate products if I want to ensure something is seriously clean.
  1. The packaging was fine. The fragrance was nice and not overwhelming, which I would hate. They were very wet when they came out of the packet, but dried up as you used them very quickly.
  1. In the bin. If I had a compost I would compost them. I don't think wipes should ever be flushed, just not a good idea.
  1. Probably not. They lost moisture too quickly, so they went from very wet, to useable, to dry too quickly. Having kids means you may not get a full 2 minutes to finish what you started, and I would need a new wipe every time I got interrupted.
  1. Not really. It's what I expected. Environmentally friendly with some loss of amenity as a result.
  1. 4 stars. 3 for usability and an extra one for compostability.

  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before? Knew they were enviromentally friendly, but always thought they were quite expensive in comparison to other brands
  2. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons? Yes- as they are convenient to try and get my 2 pre-teens to clean up after themselves! They will do this if handy wipes are there- its too much to ask them to go get a cloth and a spray bottle!!
  3. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job? Mostly on household surfaces suchaas kitchen surfaces and table tops
  4. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?Very important for me, I have cats who, despite me having a running battle with them, will keep jumping on the table! Yes, I usually use anti bac products
  5. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done? The wipes were wet enough, and I liked the smell, but they are a little on the small size.
  6. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem? They went in the compost bag if I used them, I'm afraid the boys put them in the normal waste bin, but at least they will still decompose there.
  7. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why? Not the sort of thing I would bring up in my conversations, TBH!
  8. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how? They did clean well, but, unless they were on offer, I would not choose them over any other brand.
  9. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?
3- avarage compared with other brands really.

  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?

First time I heard about Ecover 3 years ago when my lovely neighbor Rita( she is 86) suggested to use Ecover because it cleans dishes and are good for your hands too. I decided to try and I liked it.

  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?

I use wipes in my cleaning routine but not all the time, sometimes for me it is more convenient to use spray and kitchen towels it depends from chore I am doing. But I like to use wipes because they are handy, very easy to use, and are near when you need them as soon as possible. All cleaning wipes are quite pricey and I only buy them when they are on the offer.

  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?

I liked Ecover wipes, fragrance was lovely not too strong or not too weak, it was easy to take out wipe and sealing was closing properly after every opening and closing. The size of wipes was smaller than expected but every wipe did it's job that's why can complain about size. I didn't liked that wipe at the beggining was too wet leaving a lot of wetness afterwards and I used kitchen towel to get rid of this wetness.
It was easy to clean toilet seat, door handles in every room, bin, fridge doors, tiles in the kitchen and my son's toys.

  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?
My mum don't use any anti-bacterial cleaning solution ash she think that usual cleaning solution is enough to kill all bacteria, if you clean properly there wouldn't be any bacteria. I agree with her but for me it is easier to use anti-bacterial cleaning solution as somehow I feel safer that all bacteria would be killed after cleaning. I use anti bacterial sprays, sometimes washing detergent and I like to use liquid anti-bacterial hand spray when we are out and about!
  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?

I liked the packaging, the size of wipes was little bit small but still acceptable. Information on the packaging was good enough. Wipes was wet enough, even too wet at the beggining for my liking but they lasted and retained enough moisture before everything was done! I liked the fragrance it was lovely and fresh and i like fruity fragrances, lime and pomegranate was something new and different .

  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?
I don't flush even flushable wipes because don't think that this is great idea and especially after couple of times I flushes not flushable wip. When you are use to flush wipe than there is some strange need to flush ever wipe, works like autopilot. That's why for me it is easier to put all wipes in the bin. I liked that wipe is biodegradable, it is more environmental friendly and its great to take care of your home and at the same time to choose product which is not so harmful for environment.
  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?

Yes, if the price isn't too expensive I will definitely buy them or wait for special offers! All in all I liked Ecover anti-bacterial wipes, they are good, when you want to do all cleaning very fast. I would reccomend them to my friends! They are biodegradable, anti-bacterial, easy to use, lovely fragrance, wet enough to do cleaning.

  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?

Yes, definitely. Now i think that this is time to try another products from Ecover. It is great when product works and are environment friendly.

  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?

5 stars from me, excellent product, very handy for every mum!

  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?
I had never used them before because I was so used to buying other brands
  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?
Yes I do, they are very convenient and I feel they are not as harsh as some other products
  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?
Yes I was very impressed by them and will continue to buy them. I was pleased they not only cleaned and more importantly killed 99.9% of germs they also left the surfaces smelling fresh and clean
  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?
I think it is very important and does 3 jobs at once, freshens, cleans and kills
  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?
I found them easy to open, access and carry around. I even took them in my handbag
  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?
I popped them into my compost heap in the garden as we put veg etc into it
  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?
I would buy them again and have done already. I had friends around and they asked me what the smell was - I had to explain to them what products I was using courtesy of this trial. They were impressed
  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?
Yes it has, I am now more aware of how they do 3 jobs in one simple wipe and that they are biodegradable
  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?
5 - I was super impressed

  1. I had never used Ecover before but had heard good things about the brand.
  2. I use wipes because they are easier and quicker to use than a cloth and spray.
  3. I used the wipes on the kitchen worktops and thought they were really good.
  4. It is very important to me especially when i am preparing food or serving food.
  5. The packing was easy to open and close. The wipes smelt lovely but they did lose moisture very quickly so I had to use a couple on large surfaces.
  6. The fact that the wipes are not flush-able is not a problem but it would be better if they could be. I had to put mine in the rubbish bin.
  7. I would buy the wipes again if they were on offer but i would not pay full price. As i would not be happy paying full price i could not recommend them to a friend unless they were on offer.
  8. I think the ecover brand is a good brand and hopefully the cost will come down as they expand their range.
  9. I would give the wipes 3 stars. When they were wet they were really good but they did dry out quickly so had to use more than I would have liked to.

Thank you for the wipes!

1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?

I always use the washing up liquid and surface cleaner. I have used the laundry products too.

2. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?

I use wipes between 'proper cleans' in the bathroom, because they are quick and convenient.

3. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?

I used them in the bathroom and found them to work very well.

4. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?

I'm not a big fan of bleaches etc, but I think an antibacterial product is good on a loo seat, especially when you have children with poor aim!

5. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?

The packaging was easy to use, and to reseal. The wipes were well soaked with product, which made the job easier.

6. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?

I put them in the bin. We've just moved and I don't yet have a compost heap. It doesn't bother me that they're not flushable, although most wipes are, I believe.

7. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?

I would buy them. I currently use another eco wipe for quick cleans, but I found the Ecover wipes more moist, and so easier to use. I would have no problem with recommending them to a friend, as I think they work well.

8. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?

No.

9. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?

5

  1. What were your thoughts and feelings about Ecover prior to trying them? Had you used any Ecover products before?

Yes, I used the washing liquid and conditioner and liked the products.

  1. Do you currently use wipes as part of your cleaning regime? Is it because they are convenient, value for money or for other reasons?
I use them in the bathroom for convenience.
  1. Ecover Multi-Action Wipes can be used throughout your home - from toilet seats to highchairs - where did you test your wipes? Did they do the job?
Kitchen and highchair. They did do the job.
  1. How important is it that the wipes are Anti-bacterial and kill 99.9% of bacteria? Do you use any Anti-bacterial products for cleaning or hygiene?
Not hugely important - I do use anti bac stuff to clean kitchen and high chair but not fanatically.
  1. Thinking about the wipes, did you find the packaging easy to use and carry all the information you needed? Did you like the fragrance? Did the wipes retain enough moisture to get the job done?
Packaging easy to use and stayed sticky. Info about biodegradability and compostability a bit hidden though - I read not to put them down toilet and assumed I couldn't compost either. Lots of product, but a bit too foamy as others have said. Scent was a bit odd - pomegranate and lime?! I prefer more traditional 'clean' smells like lemon or orange.
  1. The wipes are FSC sourced and biodegradable - how did you dispose of your wipes once used? Would you pop them on the compost heap or perhaps with food waste? They are not flushable, is this problem?
I put them in bin - I would prefer them to be flushable, but I would have composted them had I realised earlier.
  1. Would you buy the products in the future? If it came up in conversation do you think you'd recommend to a friend? Why? If not why?
They are a bit small to use regularly - I needed to use three or four to do the bench for example, so probably wouldn't buy them again or recommend.
  1. Having now tried Ecover Multi-Action Wipes has it changed your perception of the brand? If so, how?
No, it hasn't changed my perception.
  1. Finally, using a 5-star rating with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor? what would you give Ecover Multi-Action Wipes?
3 - fine to use occasionally or for small jobs, but not to use as main cleaning product.
