NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't noticed them. I have Tesco direct and order the same products from my favourites.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I like the smell and the feel of the work surface when I have wiped. It cleaned well.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did
it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I usually use Dettox and it worked equally well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Fairly imporatant but price is more important, so altho I would choose 'green' only if they are competitively priced.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, maybe

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

The spray mechanismfeels very flimsy. The trigger is too narrow so wet hands slip easily on it.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Sorry, but my conversations NEVER bring up cleaning products!

hackneyzoo · 01/05/2012 20:23

I had the Anti Bacterial spray:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had never heard of them, so had no opinion.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The spray worked well, I couldn't smell anything. It seemed to work effectively for cleaning the work tops and dining table, it easily removed poster paint from the table, as well as the remains of dinner.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It seemed to wrk as well as the normal kitchen spray I used, without the strong bleach smell, which was good.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I am happy to buy 'green' products where I can, if they are effective cost wise and performance wise.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I probably won't because I don't normally shop in Tesco

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None, I thought it was very good.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

It probably wouldn't come up in conversation, but if it did, then I would recommend it.

Alex71 · 01/05/2012 20:23

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Had not really noticed them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Was not to happy with the powder that was left in the drawer after the wash was done
the product worked the washing was clean
I liked the smell whilst the powder was in the box but once the washing was done the fresh smell was gone and it smelled of damp old washing

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
seemed to work just as well as my normal washing tabletts

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I had not really thought about that tbh, i go by what works best for my washing

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
No i will not, the residue left in the drawer was a wast to me and the smell of the wet washing was very offputting to me

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? the smell and the consistency

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not recommend but mention how i got on with it

TerraNotSoFirma · 01/05/2012 20:30

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't noticed them, But I do all my shopping online and tend to stick to my regular products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Happy with the smell and performance, I feel that the stream function is not needed and that the bottom of the trigger is quite sharp.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked just as well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Fairly important in that I would pick this over a non-green product if they were of a similar price.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes as I love the smell, I am on a very tight budget so it would have to be when I am feeling flush.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I would remove the stream function of the bottle.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes as the product cleaned well.

mummylouise · 01/05/2012 20:32

Used the Washing Powder

Q1. Had never heard of the brand prior to this.

Q2. Really liked the product - smell is important to me when choosing a washing powder and this one smelled lovely in the box and so did the washing.

Q3. It worked as well as my usual powder and i was pleased with the performance. I normally do a large load and everything was as clean as normal.

Q4. The green creditinals would not normally affect my decision to buy the price would do that. But i have seen the good performance of this product and so would use it again.

Q5. I would buy the washing powder again if the price was competitive.

Q6. I think the washing powder is good and needs no changing. The washing liquids performance was no better or worse than my usual washing liquid.

Q7. I would recommend the washing powder and have already done so.

Teladi · 01/05/2012 20:33

I tested the spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I think my bottle may have been damaged in transit because it leaks all over my hand every time I spray it, which I don't love. I checked it over though and can't see exactly what is causing this but as no one else is mentioning it I guess it is a problem with my bottle specifically. I like the two spray options, it cleans well and it smells nice.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I usually use Dettol and have found the spray to be as good as Dettol.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Number 1 importance is germ-killing. I would say that green credentials wouldn't be too far behind so if it was at a good price point I would buy it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I don't normally get my shopping at Tesco, so probably not. But if I was going to be shopping at Tesco I would get it.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Fix the bottle.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would, it is nice smelling and environmentally friendly!

NoMoreMarbles · 01/05/2012 20:33

The product i was testing was the Naturally Powered Antibacterial Spray.

Q1. opinion before use?

I liked how simple the packaging was although the bottle did leak alot before i had a chance to use it.

Q2. opinion after use?

Overall, i liked how the product smelled. It seemed to clean very well and didnt dry my hands out when it came into contact with my skin.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products?

This spray worked just as well as the product i generally buy but it has a nicer, more natural smell to it.

Q4. How important are the green credentials?

I feel it is very important for this type of product to have "green" credntials. i feel more confident/less worried allowing my 6yo DD help me clean in the kitchen (her current favourite helper task)

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range?

I will continue to use and buy items in this range as i am quite impressed at the moment. The only thing that may put me off slightly would be the price of the products. I would consider paying that little bit extra for the confidence of using a good quality, environmentally friendly product.

Q6. improvements if any?

I havent come across anything i felt needed to be improved.

Q7. recommend to a friend?

I would recommend this product to a friend. In fact, when i used this product for the first time, my sister was with me at my home and commented on how nice the product smelled and stated she would like to try it too (i wouldnt let her take the bottle as its MIIINNNEEE!!)

so thats me...

glenthebattleostrich · 01/05/2012 20:44

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I?d not heard of these products before volunteering for the test.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tested the anti bac spray. I quite liked it, it smelled pleasant and didn?t leave a residue like some I?ve used. It worked quite well, although didn?t clean as well as my usual brand. It was fine for everyday wiping down of worktops and high chair but not for a deep clean.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It didn?t work as well as my usual products on cleaning my hob but was fine for everyday use.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I?m not to concerned about the green credentials I?d prefer that they clean properly. My families health comes first.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Probably not, I don?t shop regularly at Tesco (occasional top up shops) and I don?t feel it performed well enough for me to make a regular journey there.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Make them cut through grease better, I do lots of baking and cooking and the prep area can get quite messy, the spray didn?t handle this as well as my regular cleaner.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not, there are better products on the market.

EddiesTeddy · 01/05/2012 20:46

I am testing the kitchen bleach spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had not seen them before as I am not normally a Tesco shopper but the packaging was quite nice as it didn't flash brand names over it like the normal cleaners I use do.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Overall I was impressed with the product, it smelled nice- not too bleachy at all and the trigger spray distributed properly unlike another shop brand bleach spray that I was previously testing.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It worked suprisingly well, normally I find that the bleach sprays have difficulty removing dirt of the cooker hobs but remarkaby this was the best I have used in ages!

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
To be honest I am more influenced by the price and efficiency of products rather that their green credentials.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
If I was in Tesco and needed a cleaner then I would certainly consider this product again and would definately pick it up if it was a reasonable price

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Cant think of any.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would actually, it cleans well, smells nice and is comparitavely better for the environment than normal bleach cleaners.

sausagewallet · 01/05/2012 20:51

I had the washing powder to test

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Never heard of this particular brand, I haven't used any eco products before so don't tend to give them much notice.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I was very impressed. The powder had a nice fragrance, and it really works! I did a white wash and bunged in a polo shirt covered in chocolate. I didn't hold out much hope but it came out clean. Whites were really bright too.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Just as well. I was pleasantly surprised.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Quite. If prices were competetive with non eco stuff I'd probably steer towards the eco.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I tend to buy whatever is on offer,, so if it offered good value for money, yes.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Can't think of any

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would, I was really impressed with how clean & bright my clothes were after washing.

GhostTrain · 01/05/2012 20:53

I tested the washing powder, thanks very much for sending it, I really liked it.

Q1. - Not aware of them previously

Q2. - Overall, I thought it was a good product, it worked as well as any other washing powder, I was happy with the powder, and I loved the smell - the smell was the best bit about it.

Q3. - Just as well, with a nicer smell.

Q4. Quite important, yes it would make me more likely to buy because normally I associate a nice-smelling washing powder with being un-Eco, and all things being equal, why not buy Eco?

Q5. Yes, when I am in Tesco (don't go very often)

Q6. I loved the washing powder but the packaging was a real let down, I don't think it does the product justice at all. I doubt I would have picked it up off the shelf based on the packaging alone. I like the colours:white, blue, green,- all really nice, I like a nice fresh white background; but the arrangements of words and pictures on the front are really weedy and too light in impact. It took a lot of working out what it was trying to tell me. Having thought about it, I suppose it is quite hard to signify both 'Natural' and 'Power' and also 'Washing powder' in the one overall design; but somehow it didn't really manage any of it!

Q7. Yes, I would recommend it, but would have to give quite detailed instructions on what it actually looked like so they wouldn't miss it.

pamplemousse · 01/05/2012 20:54

I tested non bio powder
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I love the smell of the cotton something fabric conditioner, but haven't used any of the other products.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
It worked as well as my usual eco brand I like the paper cup too. I really disliked the smell though, its quite strong and chemically. I also didn't like the blue flecks in it, are they necessary? They don't make me think 'green' and planet friendly things.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It worked just the same as my usual brand but at a lower temperature and smaller dose.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Very, I think that polluting the water systems with washing and cleaning products is unnecessary and selfish towards future generations. I only buy eco cleaning products, but the range I have to choose from is very limited as a lot of them just don't work very well.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
No because I can't stand the smell.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
The smell! And the blue bits. The small pack is good, as is the paper cup. It would be handy to be able to shut the box while its in the cupboard.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I might do, for a friend to try it, as I have noticed others like the smell.

Collision · 01/05/2012 21:00

Testing the spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? Nice packaging.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? Good product. Worked. Happy with performance. Nice smell.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? It worked just as well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? Green credentials are important as we are ECO friendly at home and school. As usual price would come into play.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Yes I would if it was a fair price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? None

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? I suppose so. It is not a FABULOUS PRODUCT that I would shout about! It is just a multi surface spray! Am not sure it would even come into conversation tbh!

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 01/05/2012 21:01

Mm.
I have the spray.

I had no preconceptions of this product.

Considering it is supposed to be an ' eco' product - it has a strong synthetic odour.

It's cleans no better or worse than my other brands.

I would not buy it again.

There are cheaper options that are rated highly by Which?

If I was truly interested in using an Eco spray cleaner I would save myself some money and use White vinegar which has antibacterial properties.

Research shows that ecological products of this nature are often no better for the environment because the consumer has to use more of them ...

Sorry Tesco. You havnt managed to sway me , but thankyou for the sample.

michele1970 · 01/05/2012 21:03

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I had never heard of them prior to the trial so didn't have an opinion on them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I had the antibacterial spray and I absolutely loved it. I have never used this type of product before as I was convinced it wouldn't work as well as the sprays which had chemicals in them but I was very pleasantly surprised. The spray had a lovely fresh lemon smell which was very natural unlike the chemical laden sprays I have previously used. I live in a very hard water area which means that my sinks, worktops etc can appear quite dull but this spray really brightened them up and left them sparkling. I used it in both my bathroom and kitchen and the results were fantastic. The scent lingers for several hours after I have used it but it is a pleasant, natural smell, not an overpowering smell. I was absolutely delighted with this product.

Having used the samples of washing up liquid I have mixed opinions. It was a very effective washing up liquid and had a very pleasant, natural lemon smell. It produced lots of bubbles and cut through the grease on my saucepans. My only negative about the washing up liquid is that the bubbles don't last as long as my usual washing up liquid.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? The antibacterial spray was better than my normal cleaner and smelt a lot nicer. The washing up liquid, whilst very good didn't last as long as my usual brand.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? Where possible I do try and use natural products but have always found them to be a lot more expensive than the chemical variety. Being a mum on a budget the cost of an item is far more important to me than whether it is green or not. Whilst I do like to do my bit for the environment on a very tight budget this is not always possible. I like the fact that the Naturally Powered range has green credentials but it would not really influence my decision to buy it. I would definitely buy it if it was the same price or cheaper than my usual brand.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Yes as long as it is not much more expensive than the brand I am using. I am on a very tight budget so this is more of an influence to me than how green it is.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? I would make the bubbles in the washing up liquid last a bit longer!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Absolutely because it worked better than my normal brand and the smell was a lot nicer. The smell also lasted a lot longer than my normal brand. I really liked it.

pamplemousse · 01/05/2012 21:05

I also missed the line on the pot and used waaay too much the first time.

muddledsheep · 01/05/2012 21:10

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I have tried other 'eco' products and not been terribly impressed but hadn't really noticed the tesco range before this trial.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The anti bac spray is amazing! It works brilliantly, smells lovely and I'm very happy with its performance.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I usually use an apple scented product but this spray works very well and I'm really pleased with it!

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I don't normally buy anti bac for any eco credentials, I buy it because I know it kills germs and that's what I need, the green aspects aren't of top important to me.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Depends on the price but would like to because it works well, plus it smells nice!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
The bottle leaks! It may be that I was unlucky but the spray feels flimsy and unless held virtually upright pours a wasted stream away. This needs to change for me to buy it again!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
If that conversation happened then yes I would recommend.

whojamaflip · 01/05/2012 21:18

Tested the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I wasn't aware of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I was pleasantly surprised how well the powder coped with my families clothes - cleaned my husbands filthy farm overalls, including some oil stains which have been there for several washes. School shirts also came up white without using extra booster powder. Clothes smelled fresh and felt soft even without use of conditioner.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Cleaned better than usual non-bio product BUT the powder did not dissolve properly and caked up the drawer of the machine - used recommended amount for hard water and large capacity machine.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very important as we are on a farm and use a septic tank and soakaway for grey water, so try to use products which would not have any detrimental effect on ground water sources.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes if the price was right!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Improve the disolvability of the powder in the drawer.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes probably.

violetwellies · 01/05/2012 21:20

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Never heard of them.
Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Not liking the dont use for wool and silk, we have a lot of wool mix socks etc, that normally go in a mixed load. I had washed some before I realised.
Cleaned coffee off a throw no bother, not so brilliant on banana. Didnt like the smell at all. Didnt feel it and cant imagine why you think Id want to.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
No better or worse than my usual.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I didnt feel that they were particularly 'green', I only buy 'green' products if there is a choice.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Probably not as I cant wash wool and would then have to buy a second product.
Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Less perfumed, more wool/silk friendly.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
No, because of the wool issue.

oldsilver · 01/05/2012 21:23

I on the powder and so far have done a white and coloured wash - the joys of a dark wash are yet to come. My machine doesn't go below 30 so no cool washes for me. And I am such a keener I actually did a maintenance wash beforehand so the washing was not contaminated by other wash powders Grin

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? Had no opinion or in fact no knowledge, Tesco are not my nearest supermarket.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? The smell on arrival was lovely. Afterwards it didn't really smell of anything - that may be because half the powder got left behind clogging the drawer. The whites and colours seem clean enough - we need to wear to see if it affects our skin yet Smile

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? My normal powder does not clog the drawer - it took me back to days of using unstaffed launderettes which is not a good thing. And the bath towel came out smelling the same as those days too - gunky, it will need to be rewashed - probably because half the powder got left in the drawer.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I am assuming the plastic bag in the box was just because it was being sent out in the post, or shall I say I hope that is the reason it was there. I would like the idea of using more green products, unfortunately so far price and ability to work tend to override this.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? IF, the drawer clogging is sorted out, I may consider - If I have to wash clothes twice or use twice as much powder, it sort of defeats the object of the game really.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Stop the powder from clogging (are you sensing a theme here - I really have a thing about this. Also would hope the plastic bag was not a normal feature.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Not that it would, I don't tend to discuss these kind of things but probably no because of the reasons stated above.

Will come back after I have done the dark wash and used the washing liquid sachet.

Thank you for picking me to participate in this Smile

Not really, it was all a bit samey, I wouldn't rave about it, but then again, I don't talk to my friends about washing powder. In fact this is the most time I have ever spent thinking about it.

Tested the washing powder (& washing up liquid)
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Hadn't heard of them but always look out for environmentally friendly products.
Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Thought the washing up liquid was ok - smelt nice & seemed very effective at first but stopped cutting through the grease too quickly.
The washing powder was lovely - only comment would be that the measuring cup doesn't fit into the box so I had to remove the bag of powder to measure it out each time - anything that makes the task harder is off-putting for a busy mum!

Not convinced the washing up liquid is as good as my usual eco choice. Washing up powder cleaned well but didn't dissolve in the drawer brilliantly & I'd instinctively always choose a liquid.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very important. Overall i try to always choose environmentally friendly products - partly to avoid having any harsh chemicals around the children & partly to 'keep the planet clean'!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I'd certainly try it again & would buy it over 'non-green' products.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Change the powder to liquid, make a measuring cup that fits into the packaging (or vice versa).

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes probably. I'll recommend any green products that do the job!

Looking forward to seeing them on the shelves - and having more 'own brand' green choices. Thanks tesco!
