NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I used the anti bac spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't noticed them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Worked well and I much preferred the smell to the usual cleaner I use. I liked the spray or stream option on the cap.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Just as well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Would encourage me to buy if comparable price/just a little more. Would probably investigate how 'green' it really is compared to another brand I might want to use.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Possibly - see reasons above re price and green credentials.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Make how 'green' the product is more obvious/clearer

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes probably because of the much nicer smell.

Iwantapig · 01/05/2012 18:55

Beyond sad :( Mt package arrived today in a plastic bag from bloody Royal Mail which stated 'our sincere apologies...' The whole lot of the anti bad spray had leaked out, there's nothing left, not a drop. The manky sodden brown packaging that it was meant to come in smells lovely though. Got my little packet of washing up liquid so I will toddle off to try that......wanders off with tears in her eyes.....I so love cleaning products.....sniff sniff...poor me.....

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't really noticed them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

It seems to match up to other similar products, the smell is nice.made my clothes smell very nice too

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

About the same.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Now i know this works I would buy it again for this reason.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not
it depends on the price
Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

nothing its fine as it is

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not
yes i would ask them to try

Firawla · 01/05/2012 19:01

ive tried the spray + the washing up liquid

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Didn't have a strong opinion, i like the idea of eco but did wonder if it will work well as i normally use stronger or harsheer things like bleach

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I am quite happy with them. the smell is quite nice lemony refreshing, i suppose it is a bit nicer than just normal bleach smell. the products seem to be working fine

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

it works just as well really. i found the washing up liquid actually very similar to the normal tesco lemon wshing up liquid i was using - as in i could not really tell the difference, in colour, smell and how it worked.
the spray seems to be working fine but i dont know if i would be able to give up my dettol spray for this, but i would use it alongside. only annoying thing, the spray leaks a bit?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

i havent actually checked out to see if all the green claims are true or not - but i like the idea of green although its not my number 1 issue when buying cleaning things

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

if its on offer might get it sometimes, as a change, but otherwise ill probably stick with my normal. the washing up liquid i would be more likely to go for than the spray i think

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

sort out the leaking issue on the spray!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes if they are someone keen on eco friendly green things then i would because its probably better value than ecover and it might work well for them

Antibac spray and washing up liquid

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't seen them before, but looking forward to trying them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I liked the antibac spray, it smelt nice and left the kitchen work surfaces clean. The washing up liquid didn't foam up enough and disappeared quickly

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The spry worked as well as other products, the washing up liquid was poor in performance.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I would prefer to be more environmentally friendly with cleaning products so would influence my decision to but it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I would buy the spray again but definitely not the washing up liquid. It didn't clean well enough or last long enough.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I would give the washing up liquid more 'oomph'

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes for the antibac spray, no for the washing up liquid, for the reasons above.

TheFeministsWife · 01/05/2012 19:13

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I'd never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I thought the soap powder worked well, pretty much the same as my usual soap powder. The clothes smelt nice. I didn't rate the washing up liquid though TBH, it didn't produce many bubbles and I ending up having to use ordinary washing up liquid to finish washing a greasy pan.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The soap powder worked just as well as my usual one. The washing up liquid wasn't very good though.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I like to buy green products when I can, especially if they work!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I'll probably buy the soap powder I quite like it. Not the washing up liquid though.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I don't think the soap powder needs any improvements it's very good. The washing up liquid could do with being tougher and lathering up more though.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I'd recommend the soap powder.

[Answers relate to the washing powder]

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Like the idea of using something with less chemicals in them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Smells nice, clothes don't feel any different to using my "normal" washing liquid (but I still used my normal conditioner). Can't say as I noticed any improvement in the performance of the powder compared to my usual stuff. After every wash, there is always some powder which hasn't been used in the drawer, so I have to empty/wash the drawer to get rid of it.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Didn't notice any marked difference, but I've not washed anything particularly stained/dirty yet!

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Whilst I like the idea of being more "green", it wouldn't affect my decision to buy it regularly. I might give it a try and if I like it, use it again but tbh I'm more swayed by what's on special offer!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

If the powder can shift stains (currently washing a muddy school shirt, so I'll soon find out!) and if the price is right, then yes, I will use it again. BUT I would prefer it as a liquid.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I'd like to see all the powder being used in the wash, not being left in the drawer!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

If it proves to be particularly good at shifting stains, and if it came up in conversation then yes, I would recommend it.

Chateauneuf · 01/05/2012 19:31

We had the spray -

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't heard of the Naturally Powered products, but we have used the "Naturally" range which I am guessing was the predecessor? Logo is/was a green 'n' and "Naturally" in brown handwriting font. My opinion on that kitchen spray was it was ineffective and smelled unpleasant, although my DH quite liked it.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I was impressed and very surprised how well the multisurface spray worked - it got a "wow" after breezing through a greasy hob, and the smell is much more appealing. It works, I'm a fan! Though I don't really like the 'stream' option on the nozzle, I can't imagine ever needing to stream it, and if I did I'd unscrew the whole thing.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked better than the Method lavender spray and Dettol or bleach which is my fallback. I prefer the Method smell but my DH finds it overpowering; we're both happy with the Naturally Powered scent though.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

We have a strong preference for green credentials but ultimately this is rooted in financial realities. We'll pay a bit more, but not through the nose for it - the Method spray is an occasional 'treat' as I do feel that's steep. I'm more reassured by the germ-killing claims of Naturally Powered as with small kids that's important to me.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes - I very much like what I have seen, and if the price is within our budget it will become a new addition to our trolley. If they do floor/surface wipes which are biodegradable and effective I would definitely be exploring those too.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I'd prefer the nozzle didn't have the 'stream' setting as I can't see the benefit, only the opportunity for accidents.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, it works and it smells good, what's not to like?

suseb99 · 01/05/2012 19:34

I tried the Anti-bac spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
A1: I had never heard of them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
A2: My overall opinion of the product was fairly positive, it cleaned well however I thought the smell was a bit chemical, which put me off using it on the kitchen.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
A3: The spray worked as well as my usual cleaner, not better or worse.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
A4: As the main reason I use an anti-bacterial spray is for my kitchen and bathroon surfaces, I like the fact that it is green, however if it would need to clean as well as other non green products.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
A5: I have not decided yet, as previously stated the chemical smell though not unpleasant is not one I would normally choose.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Q7: Change the scent. Preferably to one that doesn't smell like flash floor cleaner.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Q8: for cleaning the bathroom etc, then yes. I would.

EauRouge · 01/05/2012 19:37

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? Never seen them, I have used Tesco eco products before but I think they were different.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? I used the washing powder. The smell was lovely and the clothes seem as clean as my usual washing powder gets them but the drawer in the washing machine was clogged up with the powder.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? Cleanliness the same, smell better but drawer clogged.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? If I was buying a product because I wanted something environmentally friendly then I would expect them to be so and not just a load of marketing guff.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Probably not, because of the way it clogged up the washing machine drawer.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Make it less cloggy!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? I would be honest about my experience and leave it up to them.

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 01/05/2012 19:38

I'm testing the washing powder and a sachet of dish washing liquid.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I was completely unaware of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? The washing powder is not dissolving in the drawer of the machine, even on a hot wash on DS bedding. I didn't notice any smell, I usually choose a fragranced product, especially for bedding. The dishwashing liquid felt quite nice but didn't last long in the water.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? The washing powder just didn't dissolve, and there's no bubbles compared to Fairy in the dishwashing sample.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I'd prefer against animal testing than green. That said, if it worked I would buy it. I was not impressed with the plastic bag inside the cardboard box of the washing powder, that's not very green! Double packaging! And the cardboard cup for measuring is a good idea, except it doesn't indicate how much it holds. Gimmicky though, because it would get crushed or dented easily. I have plastic ones from other brands that have lasted years.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? No. For reasons above, regardless of price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? For the washing powder - no double packaging, get rid of cardboard cup, add even a little bit of fragrance so they smell cleanish coming out of the tumble drier, make it slightly more water soluable. Give up competing with Fairy for dishwashing. Cheaper dishwashing products are not worth the money in the long run imo.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Sorry. No.

MrsKitty · 01/05/2012 19:38

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I'd not noticed them in store, so didn't have an opinion. When I heard about them through the invitation on MN to test them I was a bit dubious, given previous experience of 'eco' products, but willing to give them a try.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I had the Anti-Bac spray.
I thought it was really good. Loved the smell - much nicer than the spray I currently use. Not really sure what the point of having spray/stream options on the spray head, but liked the novelty that it did . Trigger spray worked well -this is always a concern I have usually with cheaper/own brand things as I've had several products (including Tesco own brand anti bac spray) where the trigger spray has been poor quality and leaked or not sprayed properly.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Seemed to work just as well as my usual spray, although possibly seems more difficult to wipe off - nothing major though. And the smell is much better.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Moderately important - If a 'green' cleaning product works just as well, goes just as far, and is of a similar price to a non-green product I'd be interested in buying it.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Quite possibly. I like the smell (have I mentioned that? Grin). It would depend on price compared to my usual product.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None that I can think of

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would. It seems to be an effective product, and I think trying to be greener is probably important to a lot of my friends.

Thanks for the opportunity to try it. Fingers crossed for the prize draw!

misscph1973 · 01/05/2012 19:40

I received the laundry powder and a sachet of washing up liquid.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I didn't know they even existed.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I thought that both of them were very heavily perfumed for a green product! It was not an unpleasant smell, I just found it very overpowering and in my world, green products should not be perfumed at all.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Both worked fine, at least as good as my normal products. I normally use soap nuts (mainly for laundry, but not for whites), Ecover washing up liquid and Sainsbury's basic laundry powder (mainly for white laundry).

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Very important but has to be balanced by price.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If
not why not?

No, the smell is too strong.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Less perfume, or perhaps and un-perfumed option.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not, as my friends fall into either very green or not bothered at all.

ChameleonCircuit · 01/05/2012 19:51

Marking place for when I pick the parcel up from the sorting office.

Filmbuffmum · 01/05/2012 19:51

I tested the washing powder and washing up liquid

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Was not aware of them- do not go to Tescos very often as they are not very local to us

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

The product did work, but did leave some white steaks on my black jeans (easily removed by hand rinsing, so may have been beacause the machine was too full). Worked OK at 40 degrees (may try a colder wash later in the week). I found the smell of the powder a bit stronger than I am used to, but not unpleasant. I did not like the sell of the washing up liquid- too citrusy and artifical, and will definitely be sticking with Ecover for washing up.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I normally use the Ecover liquid, and have never found a powder which didn't irritate my skin. Although the Ecover laundry liquid is fine in this regard, using liquid only does seem to cause a build up of slime in the machine, so I was keen to try out a powder without having to buy a whole box. I might use this as an alterntive to help keep the machine from getting slimy.
Did not like the washing up liquid- see above

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

This is a very important consideration to me- only use eco products normally (Ecover or Method)- have found that they tend to be less of an irritant to my skin, and also prefer not to be rinsing litres of junky chemicals down the drain!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Possibly, although as stated above, do not have a large Tescos locally and prefer to by my Ecover products from an independent stockist where I can refill and so reuse the bottles.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Prefer non-citrus scents for all these kinds of products- the lemon smell is just too artificial

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Possibly.

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/05/2012 19:52

Anti- bac spray.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I hadn't noticed them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I really liked the spray, it smelt very fresh and lemony. It worked well on tough stains.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I usually use flash/ dettol wipes, this product worked just as well but I would say smells nicer and doesn't feel as 'chemical' as the others.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

It is quite important especially if the product is just as good as the less green products.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I will as long as the price is comparable.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

none

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, it smells very fresh and works well.

Lovethesea · 01/05/2012 19:55

I'm testing the anti-bacterial spray and a sachet of the washing up liquid.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Good product, cleans well and smells nice without being a strong overpowering smell. It's coping with the mess my toddlers make of the table.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

The same I think.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would choose green products every time if the price was comparable and they work.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

If the price is comparable.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None. Nothing wrong with it at all.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, again if well priced.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 01/05/2012 19:56

Just put on our first was using the naturally powered powder so will report back fully once it's been used a bit more.

First impressions though, the packaging looked quite amateurish and the symbol looked more chemically than natural to me. Opening the bag of powder was a gaff with that fiddly blue plastic sticky tag thing, and then scooping power out with a small paper cup was a pain and that was with it being full, I'm sure it'll just get more fiddly as we use more of the powder. Tablets would be far less fiddly.

missorinoco · 01/05/2012 19:56

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't heard of them

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tested the anti-bacterial spray. Didn't notice the smell, but I am usually put off by the bleach smell. It cleaned the floor, which is what I wanted.
What I liked about the product was that if the baby crawled over the floor not long after I had used the product I knew there was no bleach present. I appreciate there are other chemicals in, but the idea offended me less.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just as well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

It should, but at present we are penny counting and that is my main concern.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I would if it was price comparable to an alternative, or on offer.
The other factor would be if I remember it at the time I am shopping - Tesco needs a green campaign to raise the presence of these products.
Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Nil
Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, probably.

hadnt really looked at the products if im honest. I tend to stick to same products or ones on offer.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Loved the smell of the anti bac spray. nice and citrusy although a friend commented it was strong smelling today when i used it. I have used it on my wooden chopping board and no smell was left on the board which was good.
the anti bac spray seemed to do its job. I had paint on highchairs today ( am a childminder) and it normally stains but both highchairs came up very clean.

I used the sample of washing up liquid too and was impressed with the bubbles! Im a fairy fan normally but will look at the price of this product and compare to fairy and if cheaper i will buy it for sure.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

I usually use daisy anto bac which has no smell and is ok for just wiping down. Ive never been able to do a tough clean with it like i did today with the naturally powered product.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

green credentials are not a necessity for me when buying. like many families we are on a budget so tend to buy special offers or budget.........

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I will definately look at them when i do my next shop and if the price is right will swap.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

maybe more range of smells.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes I would, its a pleasent smelling, hard working multi purpose spray.

I was sent the anti-bacterial spray cleaner.
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't really thought of them. With this coming out, now I know why our local Tesco was handing out sample bottles of Ecover washing-up liquid a couple of weeks ago Wink

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The spray smells lovely - lemony and fresh. I tried it on a variety of kitchen surfaces - counter, tiles, floor, stainless steel bin lid - all good, cleaned well and no smears. I didn't know if there were any surfaces you shouldn't use it on so just squirted everything!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Worked just as well, I'd say better than the Tesco own brand anti-bac, but that could be down to the smell (this one much nicer).

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I have never bought Ecover as I wasn't sure if it could handle our hard water grime. I'm more concerned whether it does the job.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes, probably, for cleaning the kitchen. I loved the smell. I'm not sure how much it costs though and this will be a factor.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Maybe some info as to if there are any hard surfaces you can't use it on.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, it smells great and does a good job.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Never heard of them!

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I liked the spray. Smelled nice. Product performance was good but product was a little thin. Same as washing liquid.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Almost as good as my normal products.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

It is important but it didn't really say how 't is better for environment. I want figures and numbers!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Depends on price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Make product foaming so you can see where you've sprayed it.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Er... I guess so...

I had the washing powder and washing up liquid sample.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I assumed they were just greenwash by Tesco - never tried them as we order Bio-D and Ecover in bulk.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? The smell was pretty overpowering compared to what we are used to! It was 'like love hearts' according to my 9yo Grin and I found it too strong in the box, but then it didn't leave any particular scent on the clothes. Which begs the question - what is the strong fragrance for?! The bag inside the box was a PITA when trying to get a wash on with toddler in tow, and the cup was far bigger than necessary. The washing up liquid also smelt very very strong, which just isn't to my taste!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? It worked as well as what we usually use - washable nappies and muddy clothes all came out as clean as normal.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? We only buy 'eco' cleaning products, so the 'green' credentials are very important to us. I have to say it didn't measure up though - no real analysis of what the ingredients were, what they are made/sourced from, no guarantee it had not been tested on animals, no vegan/vegetarian society endorsement. There is no way that smell was a natural fragrance!

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? I wouldn't buy it as I don't feel it is particularly 'green' at all, though it works fine.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Less chemical fragrance, less unnecessary packaging (the bag-in-the-box), better information on the ingredients, more detail about WHY it is 'green', vegan society approval, and a no-animal-testing guarantee.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Not really - I don't talk about cleaning with my friends if can help it!

I tested the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Never heard of them - tend to buy two brands - depending upon price / offers

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Liked the smell; liked the small packaging and the little cup, although I did use twice the amount of powder as not noticed the line on the cup - oops! just read above that someone else did the same!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Works just as well - did a dark wash - was good; did a white wash with some bean stained clothes and all clean and smell fresh. Tend to wash at 30 degrees on a 35 mon wash.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not at all important really and wouldnt affect decision to buy as my previous attempts with green products have not been great. This product may change my mind.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Possibly but would depend upon price realistically. I tend to buy the large sized boxes and store in the shed as it is more economical.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

None

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend it to friends if asked but probably not bring up unless topic is discussed.
