AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

I had never seen them before - other Eco products I have tried have been a little disappointing.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I tried the washing powder and thought it was great! I liked the smell, the dosing cup was easy to use (powders rarely seem to have them in) and it got my washing just as clean as my regular choice.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It certainly worked as well as my usual products.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

If it works as well as other products then I would prefer to choose a 'green' product.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Yep, so long as the price is comparable.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

I was quite happy with it!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I'd be happy to recommend it.

Thanks for the opportunity to test it.

MyDogShitsMoney · 29/05/2012 00:11

Definitely an improvement, thank you!!

washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Sceptical theyd work

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Overall very pleased, washed at 30deg, washing came out clean, I had no problems with residue powder left in the drawer after the wash either.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

It worked just as well as my normal saop powder both on a cool wash and a hot wash

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not particulary, being green is nice, but for me price and quantity comes first, if it were compartable price wise to other brands I would buy

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Again, depending on price, if more expensive than my normal brand I wouldnt buy

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Add some kind of natural scent?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, theyre a good concept and they washed well at all temperatures, so yes.

Fab - has saved some of dd and ds's clothes, even ones I didn't think it would work on.

washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

For about 5 years now all I have used are more natural products, some are a little more expensive, others a lot more but I am happy to pay for them. Some are better than others so I stick to them. I like own branded natural products so was looking forward to trying.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I felt the product worked well, mostly used on 30 degrees on regular washing and things were clean. I felt the smell from the box was too strong but not as bad on the clothes after washing as I expected.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked as well as others I use though did't manage to get some suncream off first wash it did on the 2nd with a hotter 40 degree wash.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Being green is the number one factor for me when buying this kind of product. I believe we should take care of the environment and also ourselves, I hate excessive use of chemicals.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I would try other products in the range but this would not be my first choice washing powder. I disliked the smell-too strong and I prefer to use ones with less chemicals than this one.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Better scent, less ionic surfacants

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend?

No, I believe there are more natural products than this one

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Had never heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Liked the Anti-Bacterial Spray. Thought it worked as it was supposed to - bit difficult to define whether any anti-bacterial spray 'works' but I liked it and I loved the smell.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Worked just as well as my usual ones but smelt infinitely better!

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I don't usually buy green products tbh, but that's mainly because they are more expensive.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

I would if the price is comparable to other products.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Not really, thought it was fine - definitely don't lose the smell though!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes would be happy to.

Ah, dagnamit. Seeing this has made me realise that although I was 'picked' to test the washing powder, it didn't ever arrive (after a coupe of emails apologising for the delay). I had my fourth baby three and a bit weeks ago so I have been distracted but wish I'd realised before now...

AnnMumsnet · 13/06/2012 18:52

Thanks for all the feedback - am pleased to say puffylovett is the winner of the £200 Tesco voucher...well done. I've emailed you.
