This thread is for all the Mumsnet research panellists who've been trying out Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream. Below are some questions to get you started but please feel free to add other comments too. Everyone who adds their feedback on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get a 'pamper hamper' containing all sorts of goodies worth around £60. Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
I liked the syringe - thought it was a novel idea. Quite easy to control
Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
Didn't like the smell that much. Seemed a bit thinner than I'd expect but it went on and in ok. I haven't used it very much yet but will do on my forehead.
Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Stress definitely - and just ageing - and I also think it's how you are - my face hasn't changed much over the years but I have noticed some more wrinkles as I go through life!
Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Thought it was a bit different - didn't put me off
Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Not that I can think of
Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
yes v good vfm. Don't know if I would buy again - probably would
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why
yes I would recommend they try it as it is good value

thanks for letting me try it.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

At first I thought the packaging was very novel, but I didn't find it very practical. I couldn't easily control the amount of cream I squeezed out if I put it directly on my face so I ended up squeezing it out onto my finger. So really I think a bog standard tube would be better. Also a tube would fit in my make-up case better!

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I liked the texture of the cream. Particularly around the eyes. It was nice and light and absorbed well. It was heavy like some creams I have used and it didn't give me milia around my eyes which I have got from other products before.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

For me I think lack of sleep (thanks kids) and sun exposure have had the biggest effect on my skin ageing. I found the cream felt very cooling and soothing, but I'm not sure it had huge effects on my skin.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

I didn't even realise it had synthetic snake venom in it, which is probably as good think as it might have put me off using it. The thought of it makes me feel a little squeamish, although synthetic snake venom is definately better than real!

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I think simpler packaging would be better. I would prefer the product to come in a tube with a nozzle and a lid you can stand it on. I did like the initial impression of the current packaging, but as I said earlier I didn't find it very practical. Also I think the current packaging encourages you to use too much of the product if you apply it directly to the face as reccomended. I definately needed less once I started using my finger tip to apply.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

I think the £4.99 price point is excellent. This is a price that allows me to try a product without feeling too guilty for spending money on myself, and worrying it might not work. I'm not sure if I would buy the Lacura Wrinkle Stop cream straight away (although I may change my mind once I stop using it for a while), but it did impress me enough that I bought a lacura moisturiser which I am really pleased with (won't be buying Clinique moisturiser anymore). And I will be buying other Lacura products when my current things run out.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

I would certainly reccomend Wrinkle Stop to friends. Mainly because at that price it's worth a go. All my friends and I are at a point where we are really starting to worry about ageing this is a cheap product that is definately worth a go.

Thank you Aldi for choosing me to try Wrinkle Stop. I was very impressed with it and the other Lacura cream that I have bought since.

I forgot to put that I found the cream makes a very good base for make-up, round my eye area make up has been looking brighter and fresher and staying put which is incredible for me (normally it looks like I haven't bothered after 2 hours).

Only used a handful of times as arrived end March when away.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

So far so good. My skin is quite sensitive but despite a bit of tingling hasn't caused an adverse reaction which is promising. The packaging is interesting but rather gimmicky for actually makes it awkward to use. Like others I prefer a see through tube or ideally a pot so I can apply as needed and monitor how much is left.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

Good, reminded me of Boots protect which I like.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)?

Dehydration, sun, genes and probably having kids (stress, lack of sleep!)

Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Tingling but only time will tell if has an affect on ageing process.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Missed that bit! No feelings either way but might be put off if real.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Different packaging ie glass pot or clear tube.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

Very good value on face of it, much cheaper than other products that I would say this is comparable to.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

I would yes...although would like to give it more time to see if it does indeed help with ageing process.

Thanks for the sample :)

hello MN HQ! I know this is closed now and prize draw finished but wanted to leave my feedbac as planned, I had a baby in the middle of the trial so wasn't able to get on here! Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging? Interesting idea of syringe but i took it into hospital and it leaked a bit in my bag! Packaging fine if a tad flimsy as arrived crushed.
Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used? On a par really nice smell good texture went onto my skin smoothly, I wouldn't hae guessed it was a budget cream.
Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not? Stress without a doubt, then sun exposure. The cream felt soothing and I got a few compliments about my skin, I didn't bloom during pregnancy, never do so it wasn't that!
Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion? i like the idea of it!
Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what? Better in pot rather than syringe
Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why? Very good value, I would use again
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why? I would reccomend mainly on price and how nice it felt on my skin

chimchar · 27/04/2012 07:35

not sure if this is of any help now, but i have been using the cream now for more than 3 weeks (can't remember how long exactly!!) colleague asked me yesterday what i had done differntly...she said my eyes looked brighter and my skin was looking radiant!

someone else commented too about how i was looking better!!

so there. it's official. i need to buy some more now...is it in stores already?

MaresyDotes · 27/04/2012 17:13

Ditto chimchar - I don't think I can see any difference but today my mum asked what I have done, she said my skin doesn't look 'dry' like it usually does and thinks it looks brighter.

chimchar · 28/04/2012 13:40

Anyway...I'VE RUNOUT OF MAGIC CREAM!!!!!!!!!! Helllppppppppp! {panics}

Hi all, Just joined! Please can anyone tell me where I can buy the discontinued Lacura Wrinkle Stop 10ml?
My late sister Pam bought me some and I've just found it once more and it's fab!
