Yay! Got home from work and mine has been delivered too! The (nice) postman put it in the meter cupboard instead of ramming it through the letterbox so the packaging is not damaged. Will report back later once I'm off the phone and an the laptop

johnworf · 29/03/2012 19:51

Mine arrived today so give me a chance to slap some of it on before I write about it!! Wink

johnworf · 29/03/2012 19:52

My packaging was wrecked in transit. I must say, when I first got the bottle out it reminded me of something I might artificially inseminate myself with Hmm

johnworf · 29/03/2012 19:53

Does this product contain SPF?

sairygamp · 29/03/2012 19:54

only got mine today too, so will start slapping it on tonight!

mumatron · 29/03/2012 20:05

Still none for me.

Is anyone else still waiting?

Tigerbomb · 30/03/2012 00:03

Mine came today. Packaging was damaged . Will try the product in a bizzle

chimchar · 30/03/2012 07:24

had mine yesterday too... same as everyone else, outer packaging damaged, but tubey thing inside was ok.

going to try it today. my skin is looking shit at the moment, so hoping for magic results!

SoTiredoftheWheelsontheBus · 30/03/2012 08:28

Tried out last night and this morning. Scent is fine, but product is runnier than I was expecting, more of a lotion than a cream. Used it on the fine lines at the edge of my eyes and mouth. Last night had some slight redness, but this had disappeared two hours later (night feeding baby). This morning the redness is much more pronounced, looks like a histamine reaction (white in middle, red round the outside). Am not looking forward to leaving the house as this just draws more attention to the wrinkly area. I may leave it over the weekend to settle and try again later (on a day I don't have to leave the house).

shezzle · 30/03/2012 09:20

Hello! Just received mine and have tried it out this morning, smells quite nice and seems to go on to my skin smoothly enough. Does it freeze your face like botox then heh heh bring it on! Was just reading the bit about muscle relaxation, I don't really want to look frozen, well only the really deep bit in middle of forhead perhaps.... Will answer questions seriously after a few days of use. Grin Oh it was crushed and all the packaging split when arrived.

shivster1980 · 30/03/2012 09:57

Hi,
Mine arrived yesterday. After I shot some at the door getting the pump to work I then applied some last night and after my shower this morning.

I will be back to report further when it has had chance to get working Smile

divakerry · 30/03/2012 09:57

I got mine yesterday so it is still too early to comment, however i will say i like the packaging

beachhutbetty · 30/03/2012 10:27

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

I thought it was OK, although I don't like the big bar code front and back (I thought it cheapened the look of the product). I was a little dubious of the syringe look, made it look clinical and didn't do much for my needle phobia!

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

It is smooth and absorbs well. My skin was not left feeling at all greasy which was a bonus. Time will tell if it makes an improvement!

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Stress and poor diet. Sun exposure also contributes so I like my face creams to contain an SPF too.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Along with a needle phobia I am not good with snakes so yes this did freak me out a little. Initially it put me off but because it is synthetic and not real it made me feel slightly easier about using it.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Does it really need to be in a syringe style presentation, this puts me off. However, the texture of the product is fine. The smell is a little plain too. I don't think it should be highly perfumed but a little more pleasant.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

I think it is good value compared to the price of some brands. I would think about using it again if it works.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Yes if it works, because it is good value for money.

TimeForMeAndDD · 30/03/2012 12:06

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

The packaging didn't really impress me. It wouldn't attract me or encourage me to buy it. It looks a little cheap and uninspiring.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

It's runnier than my usual cream but it did absorb well. Non greasy too.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

I think all of the elements contribute towards skin ageing, sun and harsh weather equally. Also a bad diet, mainly sugar.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

It encouraged me to use it. I find it intriguing.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I would prefer a pump action bottle to a syringe.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

It's good value for money compared to my usual cream and if it works it will be excellent value for money! If I continue to have no adverse reaction to the cream I will continue to use it for about 3 months in order to see if it has any real benefits on my skin.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

If after using it for a decent period of time, I find that it works well, I would recommend it. The price is good.

Pascha · 30/03/2012 12:17

First impressions: I have no sense of smell but DH says it smells like plain lotion, not fragranced, which I would guess is good. The cream is quite runny and easily spread, you don't need much. It made my skin sting a bit after a few minutes, I hope thats just the active ingredient and not irritation.

I will give it a couple of days before I answer all the questions properly.

DurhamDurham · 30/03/2012 12:59

Mine has arrived!!
On first impressions it looked good, I quite liked the design although my dh laughed and said it looked a bit gimmicky. I will apply the cream tonight after my shower, then again in the morning and report back my findings. Smile

rosie17 · 30/03/2012 14:47

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

Looks clinical and expensive

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I've never used a specific wrinkle cream before just mositurisers which are supposed to be appropriate to my current age (ie clarins do one for age 20's 30's 40's

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Sun exposure is I think the biggest factor or is it smoking?

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

I did find it off putting feels a bit like ladies centuries ago having lead in their make up. Will there be horrible long term consequences ....ummm

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

Great value if its proven to work

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Sorry, I'm not sure if its made a difference to I wouldn't recommend it. I'd be more impressed by solid clinical tests in a lab.

labradoodlemum · 30/03/2012 19:24

Only had this for a day so too early to say whether its working but..

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
Cheap flimsy packaging. Don't like the clinical applicator either.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
Seems cheaper becaus eof packaging but product feels nice

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
All of the above plus smoking and alcohol! It felt soothing.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
I hadn't realised it was in it! Not sure what syntheic snake venom means?! If it was real venom then def no!

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
I need to wait and see if it works. Applicator seems a bit pointless.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
Excellent value but only if it works!

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
I'll tell you in a week or so...

SciFiFan · 30/03/2012 21:14

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

I'm another one who receive dsquished packaging. But it's only the outer casing so not too bothered. Was I the only one who struggled to get the syringe to work. I faffed for about 5 mins then when my DH got it too work he managed (somehow) to squirt the cream in my fringe. I'm please to say my hair is now wrinkle free Grin. So I'd prefer a more straightforward application method.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

The cream was fine to use and was easily absorbed. I didn't have any adverse reactions. It felt good and didn't have any overpowering smell which was good. I think it compare's very well against my more expensive Boots No 7 wrinkle cream. I was impressed with the claims on the packaging and will give feedback once I've been using it for longer.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

In my case it's lack of sleep and lack of hydration - both water and moistoriser. The older I get the more I seem to have to have of both. If I don't my skin is definately drier and looks more wrinkled particularly the crows feet round my eyes. I do feel better once I've put creams on as they seem to lessen the wrinkles. I can't say that the cream initailly feels much different to any other on initial application though.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Must admit I didn't notice that bit. I do tend to skim read. It doesn't bother me - at least I have an idea what that is more that retinals and other such terms.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Just the syringe for me as I couldn't get it to work!!

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

Yes very good value for money. So long as the cream seems to work over the next couple of weeks I'll definately consider buying this and the rest of the range in future. It'll save me a fortune.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Yes I would recommend it on price alone as well as effect. Again, will report back once I've been using it longer.

charlie7 · 30/03/2012 23:34

Mine arrived finally!
So far, I have quite enjoyed using it.
My initial impressions were that it looked quite odd in a syringe and I didn't understand how to work it! Once I did work it, I ended up putting it on my finger anyway first, so I would have preferred a small pot. Seemed like a big syringe too!
It does look very clinical.

I don't mind the smell and it went on nicely, I liked the consistency. Slightly more greasy than other creams I've used, but not badly so.
The snake venom thing didn't really interest me one way or another!
I might buy it as the price is good, though I need to see if it works first!!
Thank you for letting me try it out.

mumatron · 31/03/2012 08:08

Mine came yesterday. will have a go today and report back.

Jux · 31/03/2012 12:40
  1. Overall impression
I rather liked it. The packaging was unusual. The plastic outer case was popped and a little squashed because it's very flimsy, but that was OK; the syringe is sturdy, and works well enough - though not as precise as I expected, I don't mind that, actually. I use it all over my face in place of my normal moisturizer so don't really need precise application (hopes fervently that smearing snake venom on unwrinkled skin is OK).
  1. Comparison with other creams
It's quite nice. Goes on very easily and spreads well. Doesn't leave my face particularly sticky. I don't like the smell - have always used I fragranced creams - but the smell doesn't linger all day, like a Clarins one dd bought me, which made me feel sick in a few hours as the stink hung about so perfidiously! This one disperses quite soon.

Actually, when I say I don't like the smell, it's alright really, I just prefer no smell at all, but if I have to have it then this isn't bad.

Q3. Skin aging
Late nights, drinking, smoking, sun, pollution. Not necessarily in that order. Genes are probably the most influential.

Q4. Snake venom.
Had no influence one way or the other. Feel exactly the same about any of the magical claims made on tv ads about their wondrous new ingredients.

Q5. Improvements
Outer package. I know there's got to be printed info somewhere though.

Q6. Cost and value
Very good value. If there an Aldi nearby I'd certainly get it again - unless I find a problem with it over the next few weeks. We have Tesco, Lidl and Co-op though, and I think the nearest Aldi is in Exeter, but nowhere near anywhere we go in Exeter. The cost of petrol outweighs the saving we'd make in the cost of cream. Sad

Q7. Recommendation
Yes I would. It's cheap, and as good to use as any other crea,. Whether it works better than any other cream I have no idea. Will see what happens over the next few weeks, though.

Jux · 31/03/2012 12:42

Q2 should of course read "have always use unfragranced creams" I truly hate this autocorrect function and would dearly love to turn it off. I'm going to have to brave a geek site.....

Jux · 31/03/2012 12:44

Oh, and thanks for letting me try it.

onadifferentplanet · 31/03/2012 15:15

Mine has arrived today, nice packaging though a bit flimsy, Have not used it yet as reading the writing on packaging will mean hunting for my specs (something the makers might want to think about those of us of a wrinkly age often can't see as well as they used to either!) Did accidently squirt it accross the room whilst examining the syringe thing which I would also say is a bit gimmicky and unneccessary. Will be back to report properly in a couple of days
