Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
The packaging was ok- i quite liked it. Nothing too fancy, and you could see exactly what you were getting. Hate opening boxes to find the product inside is only half the size of the box!
Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
It was very light, which I tend to go for in a face cream. And the smell was really fresh too. I've only really just started to look at anti wrinkle products but of those I have used it definately seems to be doing a good job in comparision. I have small lines that I get around my mouth when I smile. I have noticed that these dont seem as prominent and definately disappear quicker when I stop smiling.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
I think they all have a part to play, but your genes also have an effect. Im the worlds worst for not drinking enough water, too much sun exposure and I definately get very little sleep, but I think I have been very lucky with my genetic make up as I dont think I look my age, and most of my family look like they are wearing well!! Its definately had an effect on my laughter lines so I would say yes!
Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
It didnt really have an effect on me too be honest-dp was rather amused that it had snake venom in, though Im not sure why!?
Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
The only thing I was unsure of is the syringe. Just seems a bit gimmicky to me, and it took a bit of getting used to. Like some of the other testers, I think I would much prefer a jar, or a tube.
Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
I think it is good value-for me its working, and much better than the few I have tried closer to the £20 mark. Its also cheap enough, that if you did try it and you didnt like it, you wouldnt have wasted mega bucks.
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
I think I would. Its actually worked for me, and its also a great price.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

It was a bit flimsy, but I liked the 'sryinge'!

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

a bit thin to be honest

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Smoking, sun and frowning I think. The cream did feel smooth on my skin.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

No thoughts either way!

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

It could be a bit thicker

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

It is cheap, but I would probably question why that is, I may use it again, but have only been using it for about a week so need to continue to see results

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

If someone said 'my god, you look 20, what have you been using??!' yes.

Mine arrived yesterday!

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

It arrived damaged from the post, but that shouldn't be a problem if it's bought in-store. I didn't like the huge barcode across the front, and I think the obvious syringe design might put some people off. Overall it was something that would catch my eye on the shelf, it would definitely make me pick it up and read the packaging. The syringe was difficult to control - it tended to squirt and really couldn't be used to apply the cream. I just squirted it onto my fingers.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

It's much cheaper than my usual face creams, also quite runny - more a lotion than a cream. It reminded me of Boots Protect & Perfect serum. It went on very easily, felt oily at first but that quickly absorbed and it did leave my skin feeling very soft and moisturised. I like the smell - not too strong.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

The sun.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

I wouldn't use real snake venom; I can't say the synthetic venom would influence me at all, it sounds a bit gimmicky.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

It would be far better in a pump-action tube, and ideally would have SPF added (at least SPF15). I'd also like to see it offered in a larger size, around 30ml, so a tube would last more than a month.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

If it works, it's excellent value for money. My usual face cream is over £30 a pot. Even if it doesn't perform wrinkly miracles, I would probably buy it again as it feels lovely on the skin and is a really good moisturiser without leaving a greasy feeling.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

At the moment, I would recommend they try it just to see if it works, it's cheap enough to take a chance on (and if they don't like it they might pass it on to me!).

Will report back in a couple of weeks. My inner scientist has surfaced and I've taken 'before' photos so I can see any real changes. Blush

Greedypiggy · 04/04/2012 17:30

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
The outer packaging is a bit thin so it was squashed in the post. The cream itself is like a syringe, which I think is a bit gimmicky. It could have been better as a tube or small bottle as the ream is a bit runny.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
It is too early to tell. However, it is a bit like a lotion, easy to spread and easily absorbed. Smell is a bit overpowering.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
According to me the biggest contributor is sun exposure and stress. the cream felt ok, no reaction whatsoever with my sensitive skin, but did not feel like it was fighting anything.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
I was certainly intrigued, but it did not influence my opinion.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Packaging could be better, a tube or bottle instead if a syringe. The smell too should be subtle.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
It is certainly quite good value for money as compared to the other creams which target the same customers. It is too early to say if I would use it again, but if I find any improvement, I definitely would.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
If it works for me, I would definitely recommend it to others.

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 04/04/2012 20:15

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
To be honest I thought it looked a bit naff in the plastic (which had been crushed and broken in transit) and when I got it out I thought it looked a bit gimmicky, the cheap clicky syringe made me giggle a bit as it looked very dramatic! Although it makes you feel like you have actually got something for your money I suppose. When I had a little try of it the smell knocked me sick, it was like a cheap plug in air freshner - it was a bit oily and didn't seem to rub in properly, but I put that down to it being on my fingers and not my face. The next day I used it straight out of the shower and it went on ok, except for the fact that the applicator spunked it all over my hair first time round, I remember to give it a good shake and it didn't smell AS bad but still very fake! It went ok but it felt tacky all day, it didn't smoothe into my skin or feel any different. I have used it for 5 days now and to be really honest I'm not impressed and I won't be using it again, it leaves my face feeling sticky and unclean and it smells awful.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
I got the Clinique trial a few months back and honestly the difference is immeasurable, although I don't use a cream on a daily basis there is just something about this cream that I don't like and wouldn't use even every so often like I do with the Olay stuff I have.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
I think all of the above! I also think that genetics comes into it and that people's skin ages for different reasons but mine is mainly due to lack of sleep and stress at the moment but that's because they are two things that are happening in my life at the same time as my skin ageing so whether it's a coincidence or they are related in not sure. I found that due to the sticky nature of the cream it made My face feel dirty and my hair kept sticking to it so it made my face feel worse

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
I didn't actually know about that ha ha but it doesn't phase me since it is synthetic

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Get rid of the smell and the applicator!

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
I think when it comes to this product you get what you pay for! I wouldn't usually have that opinion as I use aldi's make up products and shop there regularly

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
I would mention having used it and my thoughts on it but I can't say I'd reccomend it - sorry!

polly164 · 04/04/2012 22:01

Mine arrived on Saturday

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
Outer plastic box looked rather cheap and tacky, it got very squashed in the post. It took me a while to work out how the 'syringe' worked, initially it did look rather off putting! Its not always easy to get the required amount applied, most times I've used it and applied too much when using the syringe direct to my skin, I find it easier to put the cream on my fingers and then put it on my face - however that does defeat the object of the syringe somewhat.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
Its too early to say, I definitely need to use it for longer. I like the consistancy of it, its more like a lotion than a cream, I find it pleasant to use, not greasy or sticky. I also really like the fragrance of it, however I think some people may find it a little too strong, but for me its lovely and fresh.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
I feel that the biggest contributor to ageing is smoking and too much sun. I don't feel that I have used it long enough to say whether it can help the ageing process. It did feel soothing and I will certainly keep using it.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
I have read about using snake venom so I found the idea of it being synthetic snake venom really appealing. I'll try anything to help 'stop the clock'!

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
The packaging, as I feel that the syringe applicator isn't necessary. I much prefer a pump bottle or a tube.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
I think it is excellent value for money at £4.99 and I can imagine that this product will appeal to a wide group of people. I have seen it mentioned in the beauty pages of magazines and newspapers. The Aldi Lacura range often gets really positive comments. I will continue using the cream, I love trying new products and with continued use I may find that it works well for me.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
If I find it works for me I will certainly recommend it, I love sharing success stories with my friends. I think people would love to find an effective product at such a good price as this.

cluttered · 05/04/2012 00:30

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

Similar to others the outer packaging was completely destroyed in the post. Altogether the packaging looked a bit cheap, no hint of luxury.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

It's OK although I prefer a slightly thicker cream. It did look shiny at first but then absorbed well and my skin felt quite moisturised for a long while after whereas some creams leave my skin feeling dry quite shortly afterwards. I didn't like the scent, too strong and not subtle enough for me but then I prefer products without a strong scent.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Sun exposure if you come from the Antipodes like me! It did make my skin feel slightly tingly around the eyes which is similar to some retinoic acid creams I have used, which makes me think it might be doing something.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Neither, it wouldn't really have an effect on me unless there had been some evidence on an unbiased programme e.g. Panorama showing it to be effective. There is so much hype out there about anti-ageing products I am quite sceptical.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The packaging, get rid of the syringe applicator, make the scent more subtle

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

OK value for money, I would generally pay about four times that for 30ml so it is a bit cheaper per unit volume. I don't normally shop at Aldi, not sure if there are even any branches near me in London, but even if I were in Aldi I'm not sure because it's not a brand I have heard anything about. I tend to stick to brands that unbiased trials have found to be effective or that friends recommend. However if I notice any effect on my wrinkles after I have finished using this free sample I definitely would!

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Not sure, it feels nice but I would want some proof that it actually works

turnipvontrapp · 05/04/2012 08:05

Not a great first impression as the box it came in was flimsy and the lid off.

The syringe shape tube is different but squirted everywhere.

It feels nice on the skin. Not used it long enough yet to zap the wrinkles completely Grin.

Had no idea about the snake venom, didn't read the box before I threw it.

If I notice a difference then probably would buy it as not too expensive, I normally keep it simple and am not wowed by expensive skin care products claiming miracles.

Thanks for letting me try it!

turnipvontrapp · 05/04/2012 08:10

Missed some q's cos you can't scroll up to check on the app version.

Think diet, stress and sleep all important factors in what your skin looks like. And the weather too.

If it works then would recommend to friends but need to use it a bit longer first.

DurhamDurham · 05/04/2012 10:21

Important (to me) Update Grin

Someone at work has just told me I look 'well', I pushed for further explanation and she said 'I'm not sure what it is, you just look 'well', you've got great skin, you must drink loads of water'

Coincidence, I think not Grin

Mrsfluff · 06/04/2012 10:37

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

I thought the outer tube was ok, it had plenty of info and advised on areas to use the cream, which I thought was good. I didn't like the syringe - the lettering looked cheap and it was hard to get the right amount out, without getting it on the mirror......or my feet! A pump dispenser would be better.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I not used a similar product before so can't compare.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

I think all of the above as well as diet & dehydration. I thought the cream was quite soothing and quickly absorbed. It's too soon to say whether it has made a difference, but I will continue to use it.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

I thought it was interesting and it did make me keen to try it.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The syringe - too gimmicky and doesn't work very well.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

If it works, as I hope it does, then I do think it represents value for money. Yes, I will use it again.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Yes I would; it's a nice product and at that price it'sdefinitely worth a try.

HouseOfBamboo · 06/04/2012 12:26

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream?
What did you think about the packaging?

Packaging was interesting, though mine was crushed too. The syringe was a bit fiddly to get to line up and pump, then a bit hard to control. The writing on the outer tube is a bit hard to read, especially for old gimmers like me. I'd like a bit more info I think, such as is it worth using on the neck area or will the snake venom make the skin sag more!?

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

The actual cream is quite nice, strong smelling but not unpleasant, it fades to a nice cucumber-y scent. It feels nicely moisturising but not too greasy.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Biggest contributer = genetics, definitely. Followed by sun exposure and smoking. Lack of sleep and stress effects tend to be of the more temporary spots and dark shadows under eyes variety imo. Yes quite soothing I suppose, it seems to 'warm up' in a slightly odd fashion a minute or so after applying...!

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

I find it slightly offputting I suppose, it sounds a bit unpleasant. I'm not sure how it would help my particular skin issues, which are more to do with looking jowly and saggy round the neck than actual crows feet type wrinkles (though I have those too). It's an interesting experiment though and it certainly marks the cream out as different from the others.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The actual cream itself is fine. I don't think the injection thing is particularly necessary, I found it hard to stop it squirting too much, so always put a bit of cream on my palm then apply it with my fingers. Good that it's not a pot though, as those are unhygienic.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

It's not a large amount of money, though 10mls isn't much cream either. I suppose you don't use much at a time, so quite good value. I'm not sure I'd buy it, mainly because I haven't seen a particular improvement (though have only been using it for a few days, will see how it goes). Also, not sure of the benefits of using it in the morning, as it gets diluted by moisturiser and make-up almost as soon as it is applied.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

No, I don't think so, not at the moment anyway. If I get miraculously smooth skin in the next couple of weeks I'll reconsider Grin

Thanks for the trial sample [busmile]

johnworf · 06/04/2012 13:01

After using the cream for about a week now, I am seeing a definite subtle change in my skin - for the better. The lines/creases seem a little less more defined and my skin is super soft. Given that I often suffer from dermatisis I am thrilled. Grin

Btw, I have just been shopping at my local ALDI and there were only 2 of these left on the shelf. Looks as though the locusts had got there first. I did buy one anyway.

I have also seen this product featured in numerous newspaper/magazine articles over the past week so I guess the stampede is on!

LaVitaBellissima · 06/04/2012 20:11

Q1 Wht was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop Face Cream? What did you think of the packaging?
I liked the Syringe style applicator, and I also thought that the packaging was fine, not too bulky and easy to see the product.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
It feels very light, which makes me a bit sceptical about whether it will work.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Lack of sleep, and more stress I suppose, I'm finding the responsibility and relentlessness of being a parent of twins very ageing Smile

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
I was interested, so encouraged to use the product.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Well I need to wait and see if it works

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
I think that it's fantastic value for money but the proof is in the pudding.
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
If it works yes

WhoremoaneeGrainger · 07/04/2012 12:15

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

Packaging was really flimsy - broke in the post. Thought the syringe thing was OTT too, a tube would have been just as good.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

Never really used any, so nothing to compare.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Lack of sleep and dehydration. It felt quite soft and creamy when it went on, but the first squidge went everywhere, so i just squeezed it onto my fingertip and rubbed in.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Didnt think about it at all to be honest.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

No smell would be good for me, found the perfumey smell quite strong.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

From what i've seen around its good value for money. I may use it again, made my skin feel smoother.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Have done already. Friend said i looked less tired around the eyes.

MrsZuko · 07/04/2012 16:59

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

The outer packaging was a bit flimsy and had come apart in the post. I think the syringe packaging is witty and will give it good standout on shelf but personally I tend to go for natural ingredients over the latest 'scientific breakthrough' so found the overtly medical packaging a bit off-putting. It made me nervous about the ingredients and whether they'd been properly tested.
I also think the applicator is a bit faffy - I ended up squirting the cream onto my fingers and applying it that way.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

This is the big issue with this cream - what is it? Is it a moisturiser or a serum? Should I use it in place of my moisturiser or before it? There's nothing on the packaging to explain what the cream is and how to incorporate it into a skincare regime. It tingles when it goes on though so there must be some kind of active ingredient in it. Smells ok and wasn't too greasy. I used it as a serum.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting te ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Having kids! Lack of sleep is the biggest factor. But stress and sun are big players. I've been using it for a week and do think there's a difference but this could just be psychological.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

It put me off. There's nothing about "synthetic", "snake" and "venom" that I would particularly want near my face.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

An explanation of what it is. How quickly you should see results.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

It's excellent value for money. I'll see how my face looks in a few weeks once I've finished the cream - if there's a noticeable difference then I'll buy it.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Depends on final results!

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
I thought the packaging was fun, altho the out plastic cylinder on mine was broken when I received it, the cream filled 'syringe' was fine.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
I'm afraid it did not compare terribly well with other creams I've used in the past. The scent of this product was just too cloying, it actually gave me headaches. I honestly cannot imagine wearing it in the morning to work, I'd end up asphyxiating fellow commuters on Central line!

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
I think all of the above contribute to the aging process, most of us are at the mercy of our genes, I don't think realistically any cream is going to prevent the ageing process. The cream sunk in really quickly and well, I only used a small amount at a time, it did make my skin feel really smoothe on initial application, but I don't think it gave any long lasting results.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
I had to read the entire tube when I saw the snake venom thing, then I found it funny, it's a talking point but didnt influence my opinion in any way.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
A less cloying scent please, also putting in a sun block would help by protecting the skin from sun exposure.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
I would not use this product for the price it is, as I prefer my regular cream, as I said this products scent gave me a headache.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
I would mention this product in conversation definitely if only for the snake venom and the product packaging which I found to be fun, I would warn people of the scent tho, which really does completely put me off.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

I didn't like the packaging. I had so much trouble with it. When I got the bottle out I couldn't work out how to turn it 'on'/open it. Very frustrating. It has a sort of "lock" mechanism which you need to switch on and off to use it. I can see this would be useful for travelling but not when I just leave it on my dresser. However the syringe mechanism is quite clever and it's easy to dispense in localised areas. (I think it would be prone to breaking quite easily though)

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I liked how easy it was to apply. It has a lovely texture (not too think not too runny) applies and absorbs easily. I like it. It smells nice and it doesn't interfere with my acne.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

It's a mixture of all of those things. I think it felt nice. Each time my face feels firmer, tighter, less saggy. And softer,

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

It didn't influence me to be honest.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The bottle needs to be redesigned I think so that the on/off mechanism makes more sense and is easier to use. The cream itself is fab.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

This is great value for money. Very affordable.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Yes I'm pretty sure I would.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
arrived late and all the pastic outside bit was torn and broken - so didn't look great, but once the outside bit opened up looked a bit better. smell is lovely.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
looks a bit more 'expert' and clinical. slightly different packaging.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
lack of sleep and stress probably for me, feels soothing. much be doing something right

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
didn't really influence my opinion

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
outside packaging - more robust. not sure the value of the lastic/rubber nipple bit.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

yes. might use again - depends if it works

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

yes - something different, esp the snake ingredient!

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
Cheap and flimsy. I liked the look of the "syringe" but found it impractical to use. Would much prefer a pot/tube
Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
Never used one
Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Smoking, lack of sleep, bad diet, sun.
Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Would much prefer fake snake then real stuff. Didn't know it was in there until I read the packaging and even then I had to look it uo
Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Make it a tube that you can see how much you have.
Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
As I have never really bothered with a skin care routine, I wouldn't know how much it all costs but if I needed to I would think that a fiver is worth trying it
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why? Yes I would.

Ok, got mine and have been using it daily for a couple of weeks now

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

I actually quite like the packaging, mine didn't burst open in the envelope so that's good! I like the tube and have found that a couple of squirts is enough for my face, so it's good for not using too much. It'll probably last a while.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

Well, I was using in the morning after cleansing for a few days but found it to be too greasy for daytime - my make-up was sliding off! So I've just been using in the evenings which I think is much more suitable for my skin. Also, it's far too perfumed - it's not unpleasant as such, but I don't think it needs that strength of scent.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Lack of sleep, stress and genetics. Didn't feel like the cream was doing anything special but to be honest I HAVE noticed an improvement in my skin! It's more even looking, smoother and softer - in fact I've stopped wearing foundation and can get away with just a bit of concealer these days. Fab!

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

It neither puts me off nor encourages me to use it. It sounds a bit daft, really.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

As I said, I found it too greasy for daytime use - not good under make-up. Perhaps having different versions for day and night? (I don't know if you do have this already, sorry).

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

It is brilliant value for money, IMO. Yes, I'd use it again, and will probably try other products in the range next time I'm in Aldi.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

I would recommend it, and would be likely to buy it for my best friend/mother to try - but I'd tell them to only use it at night! My mum is devoted to No.7 Protect and Perfect, so she would possibly be interested in this...

Jux · 10/04/2012 12:25

Has anyone else finished theirs? I used it this morning but as I got to my forehead it just spluttered and that was it. I've been using since 31 March, so it hasn't lasted long. No Aldi near us so no more for me Sad

DurhamDurham · 10/04/2012 13:10

Jux mine ran out this morning too, DH claimed I had been slathering on too much but I hadn't .10mls was never going to last long was it. I did love the cream and will buy again.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

Fairly good product but the packaging was a bit flimsy and cheap looking and the tube itself was a bit clumsy to use.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

Can't see any difference as yet but has not caused any ill effects.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Sun exposure, smoking, general ill-health. Product feels soothing when used, it is not tight on skin but moisturising.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Curious ingredient to use as was not aware of any benefits associated with such but did not put me off. Does not say anything on packaging on why this might be a benefit either. Wondered if product might be coloured or smelly as a result but no!

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I think the packaging could be better and possible more on the benefits of the unique ingredients.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

Certainly seems good value, not sure how long it will last but a little seems to go a long way. Packaging doesn't seem very recyclable. I would probably buy it again if long term use shows a benefit to skin, too early to tell as yet. No ill effects though on initial use, and seems nice and moisturising.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Yes I think i would. Seems good product to use for price, though would help to sell the product with a bit more info on the packaging.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

Like others, I found it a little gimmicky - not too impressed with the syringe. A normal bottle would have been fine.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
I prefer thicker creams. I have suddenly got a few spots on my face and I wonder if the cream has caused it? That is one way of reversing the ageing process...

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Sun, smoking, pollution. The cream was quite soothing.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Again it seemed a bit gimmicky.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Better packaging

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
I think it's OK, though am peturbed to hear some testers have already finished they tube. I probably won't use it again as there are other creams I like better.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
Yes, probably, if someone was looking for a specific wrinkle cream.
