I have only had mine for 3 days but this is what first impressions I have:

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

The outer packaging was flimsy and broken when I received it but, I'm thinking that anyone who uses this in the future won't be getting it through the post. The actual syringe was gimmicky to me. I think it was going for the scientif look when it's not needed. It was hard to get the cream out and I ended up squirting it on the wall. In the end, I put the syringe to my finger and used my finger to apply to my face.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

The cream itself (forget the packaging for now) was lovely. Definitely in competition with more expensive creams. I normally use Clinique or Clarins and I'd say it was just as good as both. The cream was light, absorbed well, didn't leave my skin looking greasy and had a nice light fragrance.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

I think lifestyle obviously affects your skin but most of the luck is in the genes.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Didn't even realise it contained synthetic snake venom until I saw it on the side of the syringe! I think again, it's one of those things featured that celebs use and would possibly appeal to people who follow famous people. Personally, it doesn't bother me one way or another as long as it works.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Get rid of the syringe, too fiddly and unnecessary. Either a tube or a pot would be fine. Cardboard box for packaging or possibly none at all.

As the sun is a major factor in skin ageing, putting an SPF of at least 25 would be great.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

I'm 46 this year and so on the look out for quality creams that actually work. I gladly pay £30 for a premium brand and would definitely buy Lacura if it worked as well.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Again, if it worked, then yes I would. I've only been using it for 3 days and I doubt any cream would advertise themselves as working so soon! If after 3 weeks I see a difference, then yes I shall recommend it. Price is very good.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

Outer packaging poor as already described by others but design of applicator like a syringe is tricky. I 'injected" onto end of finger first otherwise there is too much of product on small area of face.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

Its a bit more messy to apply - spot application as oppose to all over.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Friends who are smokers seem to have drier and less blooming skin but I always have a dry skin after being in fresh air all day or on a plane or in a car with heating on. I think the cream felt as though it was offering a protective layer against the elements.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

No strong views either way.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Maybe the dispensing tube could have a smaller nozzle so that only a small amount of cream is produced after one push of syringe.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

This is decent value if people feel it offers a positive result in the reduced appearance of wrinkles. It seems the retailers don't know where to stop in terms of charging for face potions in general, we all seem to be sucked into buying higher priced products. If there's a more economical product I think it would be very successful.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Yes, I think so. I obviously haven't targetted the right people so far as the cheeky members of my family and friends have suggested I need a bucket full of this cream rather than a small syringe.

Will keep you updated.

undertheboredwalk · 31/03/2012 20:01

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

The syringe was unecessary I think, didn't make it any easier to apply, would be simpler to use a pot I think.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I can't really compare, I had some kind of reaction to this cream and it left me looking sunburned, very hot face with a flannel on at the moment!

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

I think sleep, or lack of! is probably the biggest factor. Again cant really comment on cream.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Only noticed when I got the cream, it did encourage and intrigue me, is probably now something I think i should probably avoid, have never had a problem with face cream before now!

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I think the packaging should be simplified and made less gimicky.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

I think it is good value for money if it gets results. Not something I'll be using again obviously.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

I don't think I would recommend it just because I reacted to it the way I did.

FruitShootsAndHeaves · 01/04/2012 14:57

I haven't had mine very long either, about 4 or 5 days but here are my initial thoughts.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

It looked like it was quite smartly packaged, but as others have said the outer packaging arrived squashed and the lid had come off.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I've only used one other face cream before which comes in a little pump bottle, other wise I have just used general moisturisers.
I really like the smell of the Lacura cream and it absorbs really well.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

probably factors like sun damage or smoking don't help, but it's just natural aging that is the biggest factor. Some people age well some become very wrinkly, I do feel the cream stops my face getting so dried out by the sun and wind.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Thought it was interesting actually, quite fascinating as to how it was found to be effective!

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I, like others have said above, think the syringe is unnecessary. I am not applying it directly using the syringe as it is a bit jerky and I accidentally squirted it at the cat the other night. Just a simple pot or tub would be better.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

I don't have much experience of buying other creams but it does sound good value. I might buy it again, if I notice a definite reduction in wrinkles, but I don't often go to Aldi and wouldn't make a special trip for it.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

It's early days yet but I would definitely recommend it if the packaging (syringe) was changed or if it has fabulous results.

CroissantNeuf · 01/04/2012 17:49

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
Like others mine arrived squished in the post -the outer packaging seemed cheap and flimsy and some of the print kept flaking off. However I like the syringe applicator, it was easy to apply and delivered small amounts (I don't like fiddly tubes where you can't get the last bit out, or pots where you have to stick your fingers in)

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
It seemed runnier in consistency but it absorbed quickly and was non-greasy and non-sticky. I liked the subtle fragrance

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
I think sun damage and lack of hydration are the biggest contributors for most people plus smoking for smokers.
Not sure if it felt like the cream was soothing or fighting the ageing process -too early to tell really but it did make my skin feel good short term

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Didn't influence my opinion. If it had real snake venom then I would have avoided it altogether.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
I would like to see a smaller tube/syringe so that it fits in a make-up bag for when I'm packing to go away/on holiday.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
£4.99 is a good price as its 'worth a try' at that price. If it works then I think its a great price! I would certainly use it again if it works.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
If it works then I would most definitely mention it to others. It doesn't bother me that it comes from Aldi -if it works then it works, and I would be more than happy to recommend it.

I'll come back again in a couple of weeks with an up-date.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/04/2012 17:57

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

The outer plastic packaging was crushed in the post, but I thought the needle design looked good.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
It feels very light going on, glides on easily and absorbs in to the skin quickly.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

For me, smoking and lack of sleep. It felt very soothing and did help me to look more awake in the mornings

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

I didn't realise about it until I read this thread, so no it didn't influence my opinion.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Although I like the look of the packaging, I think it would be more practical in a normal tube, it was difficult to dispense the right amount.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

Very good value. I have only been using it for a few days, but if I see an improvement in my skin I would definitely continue to use it.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
Yes I would, as it is a very nice cream for the money.

IShallWearMidnight · 01/04/2012 21:14

Q1 Overall impression
like everyone else the outer packaging was squished in the post. The syringe made it look more expensive that it is, but unfortunately it freaked DD2 out a bit (she has hospital/doctor/needle issues). Looked very clinical.

Q2 Comparison with other creams
I'm currently using Clinique night cream, but have been a big fan of Liz Earle in the past. It went on well, slightly greasy perhaps, and had a stronger smell than I'd choose, although not unpleasant. It's currently holding it's ow, although I've not been using it long enough to see if the results match the more expensive products.

Q3 Skin ageing
Sun, lack of sleep, alcohol, not enough water all contributors to skin ageing IMO. If this had been a gel, I'd've felt it was doing more (cooling, soothing). The cream felt a bit rich for the clean clinic-ness of the packaging.

Q4 improvements
As above, the syringe freaked DD2, and is too gimicky. A pot or tube would be of more use. Although, if this was a £30 product, you'd have said the syringe was not worth the extra money; at £5 I'd put up with it.

Q5 snake venom
I was intrigued by this, am waiting to see if it makes a difference. It's not something which would have made me buy the product as a selling point though.

Q6 Value for money
Yes, if it works!

Q7 Recommend to others
Yes if it works!

Will do more feedback in a few weeks once I've seen if it makes a difference - am being brave and using it one one side of my face only as a comparison.

Merrylegs · 02/04/2012 10:28

Q1 - Overall impression - oh, quite exciting.
Appreciated the nod to Clinique with the outer green packaging. Couldn't read the blurb as did not have my readyspex to hand (I am over 40 and have wrinkles. And my eyesight has suddenly got dimpsy.)
Thought the syringe was quite hilarious and alarming in equal measures. Is it meant to make you think fake botox? Or suppositry? I liked it though, not bulky, portable.

Q2 How did it compare? Because of the syringe I expected it to go on thicker - like a concentrated filler. But it was like a light daycream - reminded me of a Boots cucumber range. To this end, the syringe was in fact redundadnt because it didn't really need precision application.

Q3 - Skin ageing - booze and fags. And sun. Although the cream felt light on application it did give the areas applied a kind of tingly numb feeling for a few seconds. So it felt like it was doing something. Not sure what yet.

Q4 - snake venom - if I hadn't read about it in your intro I think I would have missed it. Text on outer packaging too small to read and the SY-Nake thing on the syringe just looked like the made up sciency-bit. Snake venom is good for wrinkles? Who knew? Snakes seem pretty scaly to me, not sure I want skin like one. Plus it's a bit reminiscent of snake oil salesmen, so no, snakes in a cream not great.

Q5 improved? No, it was nice and light although I had expected it to be thicker. If it were thicker I would use it on more concentrated areas, because it is light there is a tendancy to just slosh it about the face.

Q6 - value for money - yes! Is v cheap, def worth taking a punt on. Will see how it suits my face over next few weeks and might well buy again.

Q7 Would I recommend it? Yes, I would say give it a go. TBF to the product, it's called 'wrinkle stop', not 'wrinkle magically vanish', so I am expecting, over time, for my wrinkles to be kept at bay....

thank you!

oenophilia · 02/04/2012 10:42

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
Runnier than expected, not unpleasant fragrance - bit of Jasmine in there, packaging (outer packaging damaged on arrival) looks ridiculous - like a horse tranquilliser
Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
More of a lotion than a cream really, goes on easily and absorbs fine
Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Smoking is the worst, then all of the above plus dehydration
Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Does nobody else read Trollope? A snake-oil salesman was synonymous with a rip-off/con artist for ages in Victorian times, they used to travel the fairs and exploit people's credulity. TBH it just made me laugh
Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
If it's going to be marketed as a cream then it needs to be thicker. I'd also be concerned about the inherent claim that it stops wrinkles. Stops them getting worse? Stops them developing in the first place? Or is it more 'improves the appearance of...' in which case you're going to have trouble with the naming/branding. The implication is that this will be more effective than a standard moisturiser.
Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
It's undoubtedly cheap. If it is effective simply as a moisturiser, then it's obviously not so cheap. If it is a miracle cure (from a snake oil salesman!), then you could increase the price by a factor of 10 and people would still buy it.
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
My skin does feel nicer - but then Im normally rubbish at 'skin care routine', so I can't honestly tell you whether or not this is better than any other supermarket own brand moisturising lotion. I'd be more likely to tell someone it was nice enough - goes on easily, smells pleasant. I wouldn't tell anyone that it 'stopped wrinkles'.

DurhamDurham · 02/04/2012 10:59

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

I thought the packaging was impressive looking, it looks professional and expensive. It is difficult to see how much cream you have used so not sure when it'll run out. I liked the colour of the packaging, quite similar to Clinique.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I like the cream, it goes on well and is a lovely texture, perhaps not as much as I love Boot's Protect and Perfect which offers other results such as even skin tone, refined poors etc.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

I think the sun causes the most damage, in the summer I get very uneven skin tone and more wrinkly. I think Genes play a huge part too, luckily my mum is not very wrinkly and she is 66!

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

The synthetic snake venom would more likely put me off than encourage me to use the cream. I think it seems a bit gimmicky. I like the cream so I would buy it again despite the synthetic snake venom.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

SPF Factor, high enough to use all year. I would prefer the cream to do the same as Boots Protect and Perfect, I need help with a variety of problems not just wrinkles, I have uneven skin tone and need help refining pores.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

I think it represents good value for money, however 10 mls will not last long so would prefer a bigger tube. Boots Protect and Perfect is £19.50 for 30 mls which is only slightly more expensive than the Aldi one, I think I may prefer to pay that bit extra to get the added bonus of it tackling uneven skin tone etc. I might, when feeling flush with money, treat myself to both the Boots and the Aldi creams as I did like it. I have not noticed any difference to my wrinkles as yet but I would like to continue using the cream as if it works £4.99 is a cheap price to pay.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

I have already recommended it to my mum and sister as well as the girls in my office. I think for £4.99 they are all keen to give it a try. I like to share tips and products that I use myself, word of mouth is definately the best recommendation. It means more than flash advertisisng.

EggsOvaryZee · 02/04/2012 12:12

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
I had to pick mine up from the PO and the outer packaging was flimsy and very squashed. BUT, I actually really liked the pseudo-scientific look, and the novelty of the syringe I liked, too. However, I do agree that getting it to work was a right hassle. It took me ages, the ?on + off? arrows weren?t always complying?.and I ended up squiring it on my finger and then applying it. I too, applied it all over my face since my skin tone vs wrinkles seems to be all over. I liked the colour scheme ? fresh and light and makes one think ?green? ? is the packaging recyclable?

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
I was very pleasantly surprised. The lotion ? think it should be renamed as a lotion - itself felt lovely and light and sank in well. Perfect for summer, now that my other creams seem very heavy and ?sit? on top of the skin. The smell was also lovely, not too heavy.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Sun damage, lack of hydration, smoking and tiredness. Not sure it felt soothing, think it?s to light for that?.I?ve only used it twice so far so might have to add to this thread if it?s still here in a couple of days. Have a new spot though where there wasn?t one before, so am hoping it?s not from this cream!

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Didn?t notice until I read the packaging, then I looked it up ? and was quite impressed with the claims but also a tiny bit squeamish?

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
At only 10mls, a larger size would be better I think, not sure how long 10mls would last if going to be using everyday. Uneven skin tone, would be good to address this too.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
If it works and I don?t break out in a range of zits then I think this represents amazing value for money. I normally use Lancome or Estee Lauder at a minimum of £38 a 50ml pot so I?d say it?s excellent value for money (50ml working out at £25). I would like to know that it is OK to use all over the face though - not just targeting wrinkles. I don?t like the idea of having to apply two separate products to my face in case they react with one another.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
Of course, if it works! I don?t care about where it?s from as long as it does a good job.

Lizzylou · 02/04/2012 12:21

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
I like the packaging, easy to dispense smaller amounts and less messy. Looks fresh and modern in the syringe, looks like a pricier product.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
Easier to apply. Less messy, thinner consistency
Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

The biggest contributor to skin ageing is skin type/genetics. We all know of people who have sunbathed/smoked yet still are relatively wrinkle free. However you can always improve on the skin you've inherited.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Bit gimmicky, not needed. Adds nothing imo

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Lose the faux snake venom. More in range, ie. eye cream, bigger sizes etc

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

Excellent value and I am sure I can tell a difference after only 4 days of using (could be wishful thinking!), the lines down the sides of my mouth are less pronounced. I will continue using it, good price, seems effective and packaging is less bulky and messy and other brands

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Yes. I love it when more budget brands do a better job than so called premium brands

Pascha · 02/04/2012 12:43

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging? I liked the outer packaging, mine wasn't damaged. The syringe was a bit crap, it doesnt store easily, keeps falling over. The syringe dispensed too much too easily as well. Overall impressions are a nice feeling cream, not heavy or claggy. Whether it has made much difference to my face is debatable, DH can't see a difference. It feels just the same as a nice moisturiser.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used? I've never used an anti-wrinkle cream before. It seemed little different in feel to my usual moisturiser.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not? Sun exposure and pollution do the most damage I think. The cream had no effect at all.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion? Didn't influence my opinion really. As long as no actual snakes were harmed I don't care.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what? The ability to do its job. The syringe is overengineered and silly, a tube would be easier.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why? Its good enough value I suppose considering the cost of moisturisers. I will keep using it for a while but won't be buying any more.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why? No. I can't tell any difference. I may as well just used my usual moisturiser as thats all it seemed to do.

ripsishere · 02/04/2012 16:20

Mine arrived on Saturday too.
I can't really give feedback on the effects, it made me itch so badly I had to take an antihistamine.
It does look good, although my DD is another who was a bit terrified of the syringe, she thought it was for her.
Since I don't use any skin products, it was a novelty for me. I have offered it to the mum of one of DDs friends.
I will report her findings, assuming she isn't a delicate flower like me.

Tigerlily13 · 02/04/2012 21:38

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

Thought the packaging looked quite smart and upmarket - not really what i'd expect from a shop like Aldi. Not sure the whole syringe system is really necessary, nothing wrong with a tube.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I liked the skin cream, it went on nicely. I don't like creams that sit on my skin, and only really use simple moisturiser, and occasionally Nivea tinted moisturiser. These are both quite light, especially compared to the Aldi cream. However, although it felt heavier, it didn't feel like it was clogging my skin and was quite nice to use.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

I think sun exposure, and dry environments, such as having the central heating on causes dry skin and therefore aging. The cream did feel like it was smoothing and nourishing my skin.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

Didn't really influence my opinion. I've heard in the past that snake venom is a useful substance. I did like the play on words though! (SYN-AKE)

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I don't think it needs the syringe. Seems a waste of packaging and doesn't make it any easier to apply.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

I think this is quite a good price for the product, and would probably buy it again.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Would have to use it a bit longer to see the longer term effects, but i would recommend at the moment.

Got mine on Friday and have been using it since then.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
As others have said, the outer packaging was flimsy and mine arrived squashed. I don't really like the syringe applicator. Mine keeps jamming and it's difficult to squeeze out directly onto my face so I'm squeezing it onto my fingertips. It would be easier to put it in a tub! Also, the syringe gives the impression that it's only supposed to be used sparingly on particular problem areas. I want a cream I can slap on all over as quickly as possible!

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
Certainly better than some other products I've tried. Some brands give me an allergic reaction but this one is fine.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Lack of sleep, definitely. Hard water too.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
I'd rather have synthetic snake venom that real snake venom! It didn't really influence me either way though.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Definitely the packaging. The cream itself is fine. Goes on well, absorbs well, pleasant fragrance. If anything, I think the cream could be a little thicker as a thicker cream feels more luxurious.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
Definitely good value. Way cheaper than the Olay and Avon products I've used previously.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
I'd say it was worth a go.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
The plastic packaging was split and crushed in the post. I can imagine that this type of packaging would be difficult to keep looking appealing and presentable on a shop shelf. I think the syringe should be replaced with a small pump action bottle.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
The cream has a lovely texture, feels quite luxurious and is not greasy.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Lack and sleep possibly caused by stress makes skin look very dull and grey. I found this cream very soothing.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
The synthetic snake venom sounds a bit unnecessary but it certainly grabs your attention.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Definitely the packaging. The cream is lovely and light.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
It's excellent value and would encourage a lot of customers at that price. I would use it again as it is quite comparable to other more expensive moisturisers.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
I am very impressed so far and I think I would recommend it to others because of the price and the texture of the cream and as it is inexpensive I think it is pretty good.

onadifferentplanet · 03/04/2012 09:17

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

Like other posters the packaging was squashed, though most people wouldn't be getting it in the post so that wouldn't be an issue. Also I found it impossible to read the instructions on the packaging, maybe a separate paper leaflet would be better? I felt the syringe a bit gimmicky and unneccessary.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

The cream was very light and had a pleasant smell, more of a lotion than a thicker cream than others I have used. I also wasn't sure if it should be used alone or alongside other products so I continued using my normal moisturiser on the rest of my face.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Sun exposure and smoking I avoid the sun and don't smoke and my skin is noticably younger looking than that of friends who do. There was no tightening or anything else to make me feel the cream was doing something.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
it really didn't influence me and I didn't give it a second thought as long as it's artificial!

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
As I have already said instructions need to be easier to read.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
It is early days yet so cannot really comment on how much if any difference it will make, but if i can see results i would buy it again. it is very reasonably priced if it does what it says
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
If I am convincened over time that it works yes I would.

SciFiFan · 03/04/2012 18:31

Latest update - I'm still struggling a bit with the syringe. I seem to get either nothing or a huge dollop when using it.

The cream is a bit runnier than I would expect but it feels good and absorbs well.

No adverse reactions and I like the smell.

annh · 03/04/2012 20:22

As I seem to have been one of the first people to get the cream, thought I should come back and give a further update. Most importantly, I really don't think it has made any difference to my wrinkles but I have spent nearly 50 years perfecting those so expecting a dramatic reversal in barely two weeks is probably a bit optimistic!

The more I use it the more I hate the syringe! I use the cream after moisturiser so my fingers are already creamy and it's difficult to get the top off. I also still squirt it on to my finger as I can't apply it to my face with any accuracy from the syringe. Get rid of the syringe! It's also difficult to store upright because it is so narrow and tall but I don't really have room (in my over-crowded bathroom cupboard) so store it on its side.

The other thing I have noticed is that the cream is quite light and sinks in nicely but it does leave my skin looking very shiny where I have applied it. In daytime, I am applying make-up anyway but if I was going barefaced it would probably annoy me a bit.

bagelmonkey · 03/04/2012 20:23

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
I wasn't that impressed with the packaging, but if you think about it, you don't want all your money to go on the packaging anyway. The outer packaging was flimsy, but I wasn't keeping it! Overall not very impressive or eye catching packaging. Tube was a bit odd. why not a normal tube? Overall impression of he product was good.
Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
It rubbed in smoothly & quickly. Didn't get left with a big blob on my face or still wet with cream or anything.
Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Smoking & sun exposure.
Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
That had escaped me up until now. First thought was: do I want to be using snake venom? but then, synthetic is much better than real snake venom! I guess initially put off for a second.
Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
The packaging.
Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
Good value for money, yes.
I'll have to use it a bit longer to decide. It will make me look at the rest of the range.
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
I'm not sure. Too early to say. I haven't seen any results yet.

ballstoit · 03/04/2012 22:54

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
Quite a good impression overall. I found the packaging really annoying, as it kept getting stuck and then I'd fiddle with it and squirt it on the mirror or my dressing gown. If I saw it in the shop, I'd assume they were trying to disguise the fact that you don't get much.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
As I'm still fairly early on in the ageing process, I usually use a basic moisturiser, rather than a specific anti wrinkle cream. I did notice my skin seemed plumper and softer in the areas I'd used the cream.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
For me, the main factors are smoking, stress and wearing contact lenses (because I end up rubbing the area round my eyes in the evenings). I'm very careful in the sun, as I'm so fair skinned.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

It didn't really influence my opinion.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Make the packaging less fiddly.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
I don't think it's particularly good value, compared with the Boots Vitamin E range I normally use. So, I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
I might recommend it, as it did work well.

MummyDoIt · 04/04/2012 09:31

Another thought about the packaging. Because the syringe is white, you can't see how much cream is left so you wouldn't know when to buy more. I have no idea how quickly I'm getting hrough mine. I like a tub where I can see exactly what I'm getting and can put the exact amount I need on my fingertip.

The cream seems to be doing a good job, though. I'm not very wrinkly so difficult to tell if it's reducing the few fine lines I have but my skin feels very smooth and soft. I'm pleased with it because I'm using it around the eye area and I have a lot of problems with some creams making my eyes water. This one has caused no problems there at all.

NoVeggiesBeforeSkeggies · 04/04/2012 11:01

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?
I wasn't keen on the packaging. outer tube was squished and it all seemed a bit clinical.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?
Never used an anti wrinkle cream before, but it seems good so far.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?
Lack of sleep definitely! Cream did feel soothing.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?
Not influenced either way.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?
The packaging. I really don't like the syringe like look of it.

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?
Very good value, I'd use again, providing it keeps working!

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?
Bit reluctant to recommend anti wrinkle cream to people (don't want to be hated!) but yes, if asked I would. Good price and results.

kingprawntikka · 04/04/2012 11:54

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream? What did you think about the packaging?

I didn't like the packaging. The coating was flaking off the container, and I thought the syringe was trying too hard to look scientific. I would prefer a normal tube/pot.

Q2 How did it compare with other face creams you've used?

I like the cream . It smells OK and feels nice to use. It absorbs easily and isn't greasy. It is also soothing to the skin.

Q3 What do you think is the biggest contributor to skin ageing (apart from getting older obviously!)? Lack of sleep? Stress? Sun exposure? Pollution? Did this cream feel like it was soothing or fighting the ageing process at all when you used it or not?

Smoking, sun and genes. It did feel soothing to use.

Q4 What do you think about the synthetic snake venom ingredient in the cream?! Did it put you off initially or encourage you to use it?! Or did it not influence your opinion?

I didn't realise about the snake bit until I read this question so I guess it wasn't obvious from the packaging. I'm not really sure how I feel about it. If it is only synthetic then it isn't snake venom so not sure if any reference to it is needed.

Q5 Is there anything about the cream that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The packaging. I would prefer a tube/pot

Q6 A 10ml tube of Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream costs £4.99 - do you think that it represents good value for money or not? Why? Do you think you'll use the face cream again? Why?

I think it is a really nice feeling cream and would use it again. It is excellent value for money.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi's Lacura Wrinkle Stop face cream to others and why?

Yes definitely as it feels nice and isn't too expensive.
