This thread is for the 100 MNers who have been trying out Dettol's new Power and Pure range, either in their bathroom or their kitchen. Please answer the questions below but feel free to add any other comments too. Dettol is keen to hear what (if anything!) your DC think of the products you've been testing - so please add any comments they've made too!

Please also remember to state whether you've been testing the kitchen or bathroom products in your response.

Overall impression - v good products, smelt nice and cleaned great

Really excellent clean, I normally use supermarket own brands but will now be switching to buying Dettol products

I like the smell - it is nice and fresh

Yes I will, as it gave a superior clean to my normal products, and smelt nicer

1. My overall impression was that it was a really good product, smell not overpowering and didnt leave a lingering smell behind.

1. I felt it gave a good clean, normally use cheap products but in this case i would pay extra to buy the dettol products.

1. I had the bathroom product but I used it to clean my kitchen too, it done a good job.

Wasn't blown away -nice simple packaging, looked 'clean'

Didnt smell overpowering at all so that was a plus

Not sure, I hated the kitchen wipes and they left streaks on everything (have a lot of shiny chrome and white cupboards.work tops) so they are now consigned to the bathroom. Also couldnt quite see the point of wipes in the kitchen - Bathroom spray stuff was pretty effective but no more so than my Mr muscle so it would then come down to proce

Hi, I received the kitchen spray and the bathroom wipes.

I thought they were good products - effective at cleaning. I most liked the fact that they performed well. There wasn't anything I disliked ... well, the only negative I can think of is that the wipe packet ripped right open rather than just along the middle bit when I opened them, which I suppose may lead to them drying out sooner.

Yes, I think the products did give a powerful clean. I normally use supermarket own brand or eco sprays and the spray seemed to give a more powerful clean than products I've used previously. I've never really used cleaning wipes before, so I can't compare these to other brands.

I thought the smell was pleasant (although I've got a bad cold at the moment, so can't smell that well!). I didn't notice a bleach smell. I thought the wipes left behind quite a lot of 'product'. I wasn't sure whether I should wipe it off but, coming back to the area later, it had dried and not left any smears.

No.

Yes, maybe. I do prefer eco products though, even though their cleaning power might not be as good as the Dettol products. It would also depend on price.

I probably wouldn't recommend them to a friend. I wasn't overwhelmed enough to mention them and I never seem to have conversations about cleaning products with friends.

I tried the bathroom spray and kitchen wipes
1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like? Bathroom spray I absolutely loved for all the points mentioned below.
Kitchen wipes were ok they didn?t blow me away they were small and dried out quite quickly so I couldn?t clean a large area with them which I was disappointed about. I mainly used them for cleaning dd?s highchair which in fairness they did a good job on. I would be interested in buying the kitchen spray but I?m afraid I would not be buying the wipes again.

Surprisingly yes it gave a brilliant clean and it was really quick to use I have a downstairs toilet an ensuite shower room and a family bathroom and it takes me forever to clean them all but it only took a fraction of the time using the bathroom spray. With other cleaners you have to spray them on leave them for a while and then it takes so much rinsing and scrubbing to get all the product off, this spray wiped off easily with only a quick rinse and everywhere is literally sparkling.

It did not smell bleachy at all I loved the smell of the bathroom cleaner but I wasn?t too keen on the smell of the kitchen wipes they reminded me of febreeze. As for chemical residue I think that is what I loved best about these products. My bathroom taps are shiny without having to polish them up and other cleaners have left a dull coating on my wooden kitchen worktops but the kitchen wipes did not.

4. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where? I would normally use a thick bleach to clean the mould around the sealent in the shower but this cleaned it really well.

5. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not? Yes I will be buying them again because they did a brilliant job of cleaning.

6. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes I would I really liked the products I tried and I will be buying the kitchen spray to try as well.

Testing the Bathroom spray and kitchen wipes

1. The products smell fresh and clean and do a deep clean. I liked the smell and knowing I didn't need to use gloves as there were no harsh chemicals.
2. Yes I thought they gave a powerful clean and were more effective that other kitchen wipes or multi-purpose sprays.

3.I liked the smell which i found nice and fresh. It is not at all bleqchy. I liked that there was also no white residue which you do get with other products.

1. I have not yet but will be using the bathroom spray to clean the surfaces of the small plastic bin I use to throw nappy bags and pyjama pants into.
2. I would use the products again, if the price was good. I found the product effective.
3. If I happened to be talking about cleaning with a friend or family member I might tell them about he products since they are a bit different.

I tested the bathroom spray and wipes.

1. Overall impression of the product is great. I like the smell, packaging and the products worked really well. The wipes came out of the packet easily and didn't clump together.

1. Both products did a fab job, the spray left my tiles with a nice shine and no smeary lines. It made easy work of the shower door. It did a much better job than my usual brand.

1. The main reason I prefer these products is because of the smell. It's a light airy type smell. My ds is asthmatic and I have to use most products when he isn't in the room or going into the room as it gets on his chest.

1. I used the wipes to wipe out the plastic part of the dogs bed, I would only normally use soap and water but the wipes seemed gentle enough.

1. I would definately use both products again depending on the price. I fear they are going to be 'high end' products and out of my price range.

Sorry for the late feedback, dd and ds have both had d&v this week, so I have had plenty of opportunities to test the products!

1. I tested the kitchen spray and bathroom wipes. I was impressed by how effective both of these were, but didn't really like the fragrance of the kitchen spray.

2. both products were very effective and left no residue as stated on the packaging. The kitchen spray was particularly good for removing grease. I found them both fairly easy and quick to use.

3. I liked the smell when applied to the bathroom wipes. We have a tiny bathroom so stronger smelling products can be overpowering in such a small space. I felt that they left my bathroom smelling clean without suffocating anyone. I was not so sure of the fragrance of the kitchen spray, it was a little more perfumed than I would normally use.

4. Yes, I went on a bit of a cleaning spree! I used the kitchen spray to clean the inside of my fridge as well as oven top, sink, taps, cupboard doors and sideboard. I used the bathroom wipes to clean my laminate floor and shower door which worked really well due to the fact that they left no residue.

5. Yes to the bathroom wipes, but I am not so sure about the kitchen spray due to the fragrance.

6. I would recommend them if it came up in conversation, but as others have said, I rarely talk to my friends and family about cleaning products.

Sorry my feedback's late - only got them on Saturday and house cleaned on Friday ... managed to use the spray but not the wipes since then:

Overall impression - good - did the job well and didn't smell awful.

The bathroom spray did what it said - used on bath and took off grime and left it nice and shiny with just a spray off.

Smell is OK - not really strong compared to many of the alternatives.

The kitchen wipes are very handy for cleaning the hob - would be even better if they were a little larger

I actually prefer a clean smell rtaher than nothing or perfumes.

Cleaned very well, no chemical smell. Spray on the bottle gave more of a foam, not really a wipes user so didn't really like them although they cleaned well.

Although the sink needed a bit more of a rinse than the bottle would suggest was impressed with how well it cleaned the sinks, especially the boys' skanky toothpaste stained one. They also stayed clean for longer, not bad going in an area with v hard water. Better than my current product.

Bathroom spray smell was very like baking soda products so perfectly pleasant, certainly far less 'chemical' than current product. Left no residues (but did have to wipe with a damp cloth). Kitchen wipes very pleasant.

On the walls to see how well it would cope with mucky handprints, did ok.
