  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

Kitchen spray and bathroom wipes here, which was a nice surprise as I was expecting one product. It was good to see both types in action though. I love the smell - clean, leaves kitchen with a nice but not obvious smell. I was a little disappointed at how thin the wipes were as I use Dettol's floor wipes and was expecting something similar. Worked fine though.

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

Yes, they both worked really well. I prefer the kitchen spray because I think it cleaned better. This could however be because kitchen has more obvious spills (coffee etc), whereas bathroom wipes we used more to just wipe out bath after I've already rinsed it, to wipe water spills away and to make taps shiny again. The kitchen spray was great and comparable to sprays I already use. It smells nicer, so I'd buy this instead if price / special offer similar. In the bathroom however, I am very unlikely to use only wipes regularly. A packet for occasional use with toddler drips (sorry!) good though.

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?

Depending on offer at the time, I currently use one of the main brands (not sure if allowed to name here) or the other Dettol spray for surfaces, neither of which smell bleachy. To be honest, I find the two brands similar for cleaning purposes, but prefer the smell of this.

  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

No,

  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes. If the price matches my other favourite brand, I'd buy the Dettol Power and Pure instead as it's just as strong but with a nicer fragrance. I'll also take a packet with when camping for a quick wipe of surfaces - at the moment, baby wipes does that job.

  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely.

Thank you so much for a great trial.

WhereAreTheCakes · 07/03/2012 17:44

Trialing the bathroom spray and wipes. Liked the packaging and overall impression was pleasantly surprised at how effective the spray was - bath was absolutely gleaming! Didn't notice a strong smell.
Thought it would have been better coming out as a mist - spurted out and I had to wipe over the area to ensure everything was covered - so you couldn't just spray and leave for a while.

I thought the wipes did a good job - but not much better or worse than any other wipes.

It gave a great clean - I was really impressed with how shiny the bath and sink were. It was actually a lot better than the Dettol spray I usually use - the apple scented one.

Wasn't bothered by smell one way or another - I don't mind a bleachy smell in the bathroom.

I used the bathroom spray on kitchen worktops - didn't notice much difference but they're a matt effect so would have been difficult to see.

Will definitely use the bathroom spray again for bath, toilets and sinks

Would recommend to mother as she is ocd about cleaning.

I got kitchen spray and bathroom wipes

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?
Overall impression was liked the spray not keen on the wipes. Loved the kitchen spray smell, reminded me of clean washing powder smell. Used spray to clean kitchen cupboards, and the smell hung around for some time after, and I liked that. Thought the bathroom wipes were too wet, and not big enough
  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?
The kitchen spray was as good as the product I usually use, which is a bleach product. The bathroom wipes good cleaning power, but not big enough, abit fiddly. Whilst they are I suppose, meant to be super hygenic as you use and chuck, they felt less hygenic cos they were too small. Unless it was my big spade hands Grin
  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?
Loved the smell. Definitely less bleachy. More handwashing a jumper smell! Didn't notice any residue at all.
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?
No haven't yet, but I would have no qualms doing so.
  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?
I would use the spray again, depending on price to be honest, if its the same or less than my usual one. Wouldn't use the bathroom wipes. Not keen at all. Can see them wallowing under the sink unless I am desparate!
  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would, if I was asked!

bubby64 · 07/03/2012 22:10

Hi- i put my initial results on earlier, but just had to put on how well the wipes did at cleaning the glass on my shower- I can't belive it- we actually do have clear glass shower doors, not cloudy ones, as i have come to think for a long time, nothing has cleaned them as well as this- I'm a convert!

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like? I liked them. I liked the fact that they were more gentle and less toxic than normal cleaning products- my 2yo likes to help with the cleaning, so that put my mind at rest. I didn't like the way the bathroom spray sprayed- to get a good coverage I had to use more than I would have liked, it was too direct.
  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use? They cleaned fine, although didn't lift the limescale on my sink
  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others? The smell was lovely, not too chemically. I know it said don't rinse but my sink was still really frothy so I rinsed the froth away. I wasn't comfortable with leaving it all there.
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where? I just cleaned as normal
  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not? If they were on offer I would probably buy them, but I wouldn't pay the extra, I am time not money rich!
  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? I don't tend to talk about cleaning products with friends, but if it happened to come up in conversation I might do!

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

Great overall. Like the smell, not too overpowering but still noticeable a couple of days after big clean. The spray action wasn't brilliant on the bathroom cleaner. I was pleased that the wipes were just one sized - can't stand it when you can half them.

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

Very powerful, especially the spray. Couple of tough spots in the bathroom, sprayed and left for a minute and came off no problem. Better than other products used. And great that no worry of rinsing.

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?

Great smell. Definitely less bleachy. Haven't noticed any residue but have noticed the lingering smell - good thing.

  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

No, have used as I would any other cleaner.

  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes. I am completely sold on the the 'it breaks down into water and oxygen so no need to rinse' line. Love it. Less worry and less work. What's not to like?!

  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would if someone asked for a recommendation - don't generally discuss though.

Cinders22 · 08/03/2012 11:36

I am trialling bathroom spray and wipes.

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?
The bottles looked nice. I did not like the spray nozzle of the bathroom spray, it comes out in blobs rather than in a spray mist and as I have a shower cubicle I could see exactly where it had been/run (so a plus in that I could see it definitely works) but I had to go over it again and spray the bits inbetween as well. I probably used 1/3 of the bottle.
  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?
Yes it did definitely clean, as above I could see where it has cleaned the soap build up from the shower doors.
  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?
I did like the smell of the wipes but not so keen on the smell of the spray. The smell okay when I was cleaning but when I went back into the bathroom there was an odd chemical smell from the spray. Definitely no smell of bleach which my usual products do. I saw no evidence of residue.
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?
It did not state on the bottle any contraindications to cast iron and so I used it in my bath. Big mistake, it left bright yellow stains all over my bath. I spent at least an hour scrubbing to get the yellow stains off. I am not very impressed! I used the wipes in the kitchen and they did make the surfaces shine and no residue.
  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?
I would probably use the wipe but that would depend on the cost as I do use them more as a quick mop up/tidy up. The spray I would use just for the shower (!!!) but having considered how much I used just to clean once it would depend very much on the price.
  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not.
I am not keen on the smell of the spray so I don't think I would recommend it. My friends may hear me complaining about the mess it has made of my bath though!

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

Really liked the smell of the kitchen spray - very fresh and clean, and kept my kitchen (and bathroom) smelling lovely for a couple of days after first use.

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

Impressed. It made short work of a tea stain on a white worktop that Flash with bleach had failed to shift.

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?

Really liked the smell of teh kitchen spray. Not quite so keen on the smell of the bathroom wipes, but neither smelt bleachy at all and they don't seem to leave any residue.

  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

I used the kitchen spray on a laminate floor and it didn't leave it slippery like some floor cleaners do.

  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely - have already bought some for my dad's house!

  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes - it smells nice, does the job and is currently half price in Tesco!

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?
Very good - they seem kind to skin and are really convenient to use. The wipes were wetter than I expected but they work well. I always think cleaning wipes aren't very eco-friendly though.
  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?
Yes - not on really tough stains like burnt on grease or limescale but they do general cleaning very well, better than usual "all purpose" cleaning products but not as effective as specific limescale/grease-busting products.
  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?
Very nice and fresh and definitely not bleachy, which is much nicer.
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?
On my son's potty ! I did give it a clean with a wet wipe afterwards in case it caused a reaction to his skin though.
  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?
Yes, depending on the price
  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I always think of Dettol as antiseptic so it's good to see they've branched out !

What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?
I liked the packaging, it looked fresh. Also liked the smell of the products

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?
Yes I thought it cleaned really well - as good as my usual product which contains bleach
  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?
I liked the smell, much less bleachy, I didnt really notice a residual smell
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?
No, I just used it how I would a usual cleaner
  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes, I like the no bleach smell, and effective cleaning

  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
If someone asked for a recommendation yes, not a subject I would bring up though

BATHROOM SPRAY KITCHEN WIPES

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

Generally very good. Liked the fact that no residue was left and used the wipes to clean my baby's playmat and toys for this reason. Would not actully use the wipes in the kitchen as I realised I wipe down my surfaces many times a day so a pack of wipese wouldn't last long. I would use teh wipes gor toys etc though.

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

Yes, as good as any other product. Bathoom cleaber good on tile grout

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?
Liked the smell , deginitely less "bleachy". Liked the lack of residue
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

Yes, high chair, baby toys and playmat

  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?
Yes to clean baby and children's things
  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, for baby things, but as others have said I have never yet discussed cleaning products with friends!!

Trying out bathroom spray and kitchen wipes

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?
Good impression - they clean for sure and smell fine. Packaging works and looks fine. I like having cleaning products on disposable wipes, was my favourite thing about the range. Nothing I didn't like.
  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?
Stuff got clean when I used the products in both kitchen and bathroom - I dont' really measure beyond what I can see with my eyes, but it all looked clean. My 6 yo DS did comment that the loo seat looked really shiny ... but I think that was an attempt to pay me a compliment (he will learn the way to my heart is not through MY cleaning but his Wink )
  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?
Smell when I first opened the package the products came in was a bit overpowering and off-putting, but that soon dissipated and in use they smelled fresh and not too strong. No residue noticed.
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?
No - don't think I have any no go areas for strong chemicals - I'd just leave a window open if I was concerned about fumes/smell.
  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?
Yes. Liked the wipes for the kitchen, will buy some when these run out. Bathroom spray less likely, but may try the wipes out.
  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
If they asked me about something to use, then yes, ut doesn't normally come up in conversation.
fairfs · 08/03/2012 14:40

I have tested kitchen spray and bathroom wipes.

1.) I like the idea of 'pure' and that it supposedly turns to oxygen after use leaving no chemicals, but not sure I was totally convinced by this claim. But reduction in chemical residue is an attraction to the range. Did appear to clean well. Not too clean on packaging - bit boring really. Didn't look very 'eco'.

2.) Compared well, and both products appeared effective. I agree that the bathroom ones are a bit foamy which was rather annoying.

3.) Really wasn't sure by the smell. Certainly wasn't bleachy so I suppose seemed more harmless than other products. When I first smelt the kitchen one I was quite surprised as it didn't really seem to be a 'kitchen' smell. However, it did grow on me and the smell lasted so kitchen smelt fresher for longer. Liked the smell of the bathroon ones.

4.) No - didn't use them anywhere where I wouldn't normally use cleaning products. I did like the fact that the packet said you could use bathroom wipes on toys as I am usually worried about using cleaning products on these in case they do leave chemical residues.

5.) Yes I would use these products again - if they weren't much more expensive than normal brands.

6.) I have mentioned them to my mum, and made my husaband smell the kitchen spray... he thought it was nice. But not sure I would have a discussion about cleaning products with friends.

Kitchen Spray and bathroom wipes

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

Overall impression was that the products do what they say! They clean! I like the fact that there isn't an overpowering smell to them, and that the kitchen spray has no colour to it, unlike another spray I?ve used which is green and leaves green marks behind if you don't really wipe it well. This spray does not do that at all, and I really liked that. Packing even looks 'clean!' Nothing I did not like.

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

I don't feel it gives a powerful clean, especially not the bathroom wipes. Those I feel are just for a quick and basic wipe. The kitchen spray does clean, but I was required to use a little more force than usual cleaning my oven hob, and a few more extra squirts of the spray.

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?

As before, the smell is much less powerful than other cleaning products, which is a plus. I definitely noticed the difference in residue, and to me this is a major plus.

  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

No, I only used it where I normally use this type of product

  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes, love the fact it doesn?t smell as bad and that it doesn?t leave nasty residues!

  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, for the fact it doesn?t smell as harsh as other cleaning products and for the fact it leaves no residue.

DD was very amused to see cleaning products arrive in the post, which then led to wanting to see what the products did. Gave her a quick 'show and tell' lesson in the kitchen! Don't think it's made her want to clean though (she is only 3.5, so I think we will give a few years! Wink )

I tried the bathroom spray and kitchen wipes

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like? The cleaning power seemed good - packaging looked too clinical for my liking though
  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use? yes I thought the cleaning power seemed good
  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others? The smell is Ok and not bleachy which I hate. I prefer lemon smells really though. The spray was a pain to rinse off - very foamy and I don't like the products on my skin (I didn't wear gloves)
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where? On the doors
  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not? I liked the kitchen wipes - I never usually use wipes in the kitchen and I may be converted! I asked for the bathroom wipes and would like to try those ones as I do use wipes often in the bathroom
  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I don't like the spray as it was so hard to rinse so I wouldn't recommend that. The kitchen wipes were good but I haven't used wipes in the kitchen before so can't compare them with similar products.

Thanks for letting me try these products, it was fun. I was also in the previous dettol trial for the automatic soap dispensers which I think are a great idea.

tested kitchen wipes & bathroom spray

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

Liked the smell and the packaging. The wipes were a bit wet and frothy but were really convenient for cleaning up the table and worktops after mealtimes, and wiping spills from the floor. Didn't take the oiled surface off the wooden worksurface like I thought it might. The bathroom spray worked well but left a slight residue, but liked that it didn't feel like it was overpowering the room with chemicals.

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

I usually use Dettol multi surface spray in the kitchen, which works well, and Ifelt that the wipes worked equally well, and we're more convenient (no kitchen roll needed). The bathroom spray worked better than my usual Lakeland natural ingredients spray.

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?

Kitchen wipes smelled nice, but stronger smelling than my previous spray. The bathroom spray smelt ok, but still quite chemical, maybe because my usual cleaner is tea tree based?

  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

I did use the spray inside the bath which I usually avoid as my son has excema. I rinsed it thoroughly though. I also used the kitchen wipes on the enamel hob, where I usually just use hot soapy water.

  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes, but I would probably buy the bathroom wipes, for convenience. The packaging looks like a premium brand so I'd maybe think twice about price

  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, but I wouldn't go out of my way to mention it.

Cloudminnow · 08/03/2012 17:33
  1. My overall impression of the Power and Pure was positive. I tried the bathroom and kitchen spray. While there wasn't anything I didn't like about the products, I found the bathroom wipes the better of the two. They are so convenient for a quick clean up in the bathroom (and very effective). They were especially good for cleaning the loo seat (and under it), which is always an issue in my house with two DSs! The floor area under the loo was also very easy to keep clean in with the wipes.
  2. Both products gave a powerful clean, but the bathroom wipes did this more effortlessly than the kitchen spray. The wipes were more effective than other similar products I have tried, but the kitchen spray was much the same as other kitchen sprays.
  3. The smell was clean and pleasant and not at all bleachy. I found after using the kitchen spray you could see where wiping had taken place with a slight residue, but this wasn't a problem. This could be seen on the dark worktops only.
  4. I used them only in the suggested areas, but would happily use the wipes anywhere e.g. cleaning out packed lunch boxes.
  5. I will definitely buy the bathroom wipes in future. As for the kitchen spray, it depends on the price - I might just go for the cheapest equivalent. If the price was the same I'd go for the Power and Pure as I like the smell.
  6. I would recommend the Power and Pure range if the subject of cleaning kitchens and bathrooms came up in conversation. I would recommend the time saving bathroom wipes, which give a good result with little effort.
Lilyloo · 08/03/2012 18:08

1 I liked the products they were in eye catching packaging , i liked the amount of wipes in the packet. I thought the wipes were too small and i didn't like the spray function. It seemed to drop out too much liquid rather than a fine spray.

  1. I found the clean very good , there was no residue left on the taps. Due to the volume of liquid coming out it is very foamy. However this quickly disperses.
  1. I loved the fact that it wasn't to strong. I have a small downstairs toilet with no window so the softer smell was excellent for in here , especially on my chest whilst cleaning a small unventilated room.
  1. I used it to clean out the bin as the aroma is much better than bleach which i normally use. It did a good job of this and cleaned as well as bleach. I also tried it on the wooden table to try and remove stubborn felt tip and it didn't mark the table.
  1. Yes i would use the spray again but would prefer larger wipes.
  1. Yes i would reccomend the products.

What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

I had the bathroom spray and kitchen wipes, loved the wipes wet enough to clean throughly the spray i wasnt so keen on it didnt 'spray' nicely

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

will be using the wipes from now on, I usually use stardrops and will continue to use this for a deep clean but for daily cleaning i will use the wipes, the bathroom spray cleaned well but the spray let it down.

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?

smells lovely not bleachy at all

  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

I had the Bathroom spray and kitchen wipes

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

I liked the look of the dettol power and pure packaging at first look. I initially tried the kitchen wipes first and thought they would great, they had a lovely fresh smell and didn't remind me of a strongy bleachy cleaning products. I used the wipes on the surfaces in my kitchen and noticed that I didn't have to wipe hard with the surface, it cut through the dirt in my kitchen really well and left a lovely smell in the kitchen afterwards.

The bathroom spray left a nice fresh smell when used, it gave a good foam and cut through the grime and soap scum really well. Really quick and easy to use. Left everything really clean. The only comment that I have to make is the bathroom spray pump wasn't great - as you had to pump it a number of times to get a decent amount of foam from the spray.

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

The power and pure range did give a powerful clean. I normally use supermarket products but don't get the rooms as clean as this range did.

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?

The smell was fresh and the rooms did smell clean once used. There wasn't a bleachy smell in my opinion and there was no residue left behind.

  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

I did use the wipes on my doors in the house - I had been having problems cleaning the doors due to stickness and hard on marks that wouldn't shift. The wipes made my doors very clean - it wouldn't remove felt tip pen but cleaned the other marks from the doors. I also used the wipes on my sofas (leather style) and they cleaned the arms of the chairs very effective. I used the wipes on the floors of the cloakroom and around the skirting board and it made them clean and was very easy to use. I only used a couple of wipes doing this.

  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes I would use the range again, especially if the range was on offer. I have a strict budget when shopping - but if they were priced at a sensible price then I would consider buying again.

  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would recommend.

I had the kitchen spray and the bathroom wipes.

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?
I quite liked them overall, I liked the smell and the wipes were very effective and convenient.
  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?
The kitchen spray was reasonably good if left on to work. A tiny bit of elbow grease and I could shift most of the grease around the cooker. I normally use a Stardrops solution with diluted vinegar to wash off which is more effective but a bit more faff so I was quite impressed. The bathroom wipes were very good. They cut through a bizarre scaly bit on my sink that has been there for yonks (not even shifted by bleach previously).
  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others? I and DH liked the smell, it was quite fresh, not too strong and not bleachy. I didn't notice any residue but don't normally get residue left behind anyway.
  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?
I used the wipes to clean the kids bath, I'm normally very careful what I use because I worry about residue being diluted and then bathing them in cleaning product.
  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not? I'll certainly buy the wipes and possibly the spray. It was a better spray than the other ones I normally buy.
  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? I probably would although I don't really chat about cleaning much! If I do, it's normally to talk about a fab smell (like Method) or something particularly time saving or cheap.

KITCHEN SPRAY, BATHROOM WIPES

1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?
I liked it a lot. The packaging looked a bit 'purer' than other cleaners. It cleaned well and smelled fresh. My favourite thing about it was the lack of chemical residue.

2. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?
Yes, I thought it cleaned very well. I often use Dettol products for cleaning, anyway. This product was definitely comparable to the rest in the Dettol range.

3. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?
I liked the smell. I thought it was fresh, and definitely less 'bleachy'. I'm not sure about 'chemical residue' as I didn't test my worktops for that :o But there didn't seem to be any smearing or a strong smell left. I cleaned my worktop with the kitchen spray and then rolled out some pastry directly onto to worktop once it had dried. There was definitely no smell or aftertaste on the pastry.

4. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?
I actually cleaned the childrens' thermometer with the kitchen spray and some kitchen roll, and they didn't complain of any aftertaste!

5. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?
Yes, definitely. I tend to use whatever branded cleaning products are on offer, so I'll keep an eye out for that!

6. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Only if my friend specifically asked if I could recommend her a cleaning product, or saw it in my kitchen and asked what it was like. My friends and I don't talk about cleaning products!

I was using the BATHROOM spray and the KITCHEN wipes.....

  1. What was your overall impression of the Dettol Power and Pure products you tried? What did you like the most about the range? Was there anything you didn't like?

Liked: Nice packaging, clean and fresh smell.

Disliked: Spray was far too wet, foamy and sploshy - no good for loos unless you want half of it on the floor. And I didn't like the "wait 5 minutes" bit! I prefer to spray on a cloth and get on with it, unless there is a really scummy area to clean. And it look ages to rinse off because of all the foam.

As for the wipes, they were a little bit "skimpy" and left smears on the granite. I can't see the point of kitchen wipes anyway; I always have a dishcloth on the go.

  1. Did you feel Dettol Power and Pure gave a powerful clean or not? How did it compare to other cleaning products you use?

No sign that it was any more powerful than other cleaners. As above, I didn't like the spray much.

  1. What did you think of the smell? Do you think it smells less 'bleachy' than other cleaning products you use or not? Did you notice any difference in terms of there being any chemical residue being left behind compared to others?

Nice smell, but other cleaners I use don't smell bleachy either. No difference in residue.

  1. Did you use Dettol Power and Pure in any areas of your home that you would not usually use a powerful cleaning product? If so, where?

No.

  1. Do you think you would use Dettol Power and Pure cleaning products again? If so why? If not, why not?

Not likely; I didn't think the spray was as good as what I currently use. I might buy the bathroom wipes, if they were flushable, but not the kitchen wipes.

  1. Do you think you would recommend Dettol Power and Pure to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, for reasons given above.

Ha! Just re-read the Bathroom Spray packaging, and it says "no need to rinse".

Seriously??!

My bathroom looked like an explosion in a soap factory after I'd finished with the spray, and I didn't even use much. So much foam! Might be something to do with the fact that I use a sponge rather than a cloth, though.
