Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
Looked like they were going to be a packet of crisps with aspirations of being considered a bit posh and a bit healthy.
Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
A square wavy wheaty version of Pringles that weren't too greasy
Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
Onion and rosemary was nice as was the cheese and onion.
Sour cream and black pepper was too peppery for me (why do things have so much pepper in these days? It's a taste that you get addicted to so if you like it you have more and more to get the same pepper 'hit' but if you don't like it - like me (makes my tongue blow up every now and then but wouldn't claim to be allergic to it, just wary!) it is noticeable how much of it there is in a lot of things. At least this does say that it has it as part of the flavour which lots of things don't these days.
Likewise sweet chilli was quite nice but then there was a definite after kick which wasn't quite so good for the non chilli lovers. DS noticed this about it too but was into tasting mode (usually a real pain to get him to taste anything new) and so perservered which was great.
Ready salted - bit boring - probably more about me as I'm not a great lover of ready salted crisps in general.
DSs love pringles and twiglets if they are allowed to choose a packet of crisps as a treat. Pringles paprika flavour probably the favourite, closely followed by sour cream and onion. Could imagine these both being nice. Could also think that a curried one could be quite nice. Or a sweet mild pickled beetroot one - could have a great purple colour as a talking point!
Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
They are a cross between frazzles (shape), pringles (manufactured-ness) and those wheatie crunch things (the wheat-ness) but nothing that makes them particularly unique.
Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
Would probably tell them that they were worth a try. Didn't seem to be many in the packet (maybe because I was sharing with an enthusiastic ds1 (6) who wanted to be in charge of the taste test comparisons (and took his role very seriously! Or maybe because giving a small portion is one way to keep calories and fat per bag down).
Not many survived a full crisps so lots of broken bits, even taking the packet directly out of the box they were sent in so not sure how well a pack would survive a trip home from the supermarket or as part of a packed lunch.
