MNHQ here: Got a question for Rishi Sunak?

RhiannonEMumsnet · 21/06/2024 16:45

Hi there,

We’re pleased to tell you that next week, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will be answering questions from Mumsnet users in a written Q+A.

If you have a question you'd like answering, you can post it below. Please stick to the usual guidelines - one question per user, keep it civil, and if one topic is dominating, please don't continue to post what's effectively the same question or point (we'll be deleting questions that are repeated multiple times). We'll make sure we cover the topics that we know are important to Mumsnet users. As it’s a written Q+A without a chance for follow ups, please do include as much detail as you’d like in your questions.

We'll be closing this thread at 1pm on Sunday, so do get your questions in before that - and watch this space to hear the PM’s responses!

Thanks,
MNHQ

Due to your impoverished childhood have you ever googled WWF and been utterly bemused at the mention of Hulk Holgan and The Undertaker, rather than pandas and orangutans?

RishisLeavingDo · 21/06/2024 18:05

You say you want the leave the ECHR so you can deport a few vulnerable refugees to Rwanda.

How will you safeguard the Good Friday Agreement?

Sillystrumpet · 21/06/2024 17:04

The country seems to be coming out of a long dark winter, and our economy stabilising, how do you see further improvements happening?

🤣🤣

Replying24 · 21/06/2024 18:10

Ask him why he does not actually answer questions

Funkyfizz · 21/06/2024 18:10

Would you like me to record your defeat on my Sky TV?

CaptainCarrotsBigSword · 21/06/2024 18:11

Why has your government not acted to safeguard women and children's single sex spaces & sports? Why did your government take so long to act upon the soaring numbers of referrals to GIDS (gender identity clinics) amongst teenage girls?

You could have legislated to protect women and children years ago. Now it is too late, and under a Labour government self ID will be brought in, in name or deed, and women's rights will be rolled back.

mids2019 · 21/06/2024 18:12

Can you recommend a removals conpany?

BlowDryRat · 21/06/2024 18:15

Which aspect of the Conservative Party do you like the least?

Greaterorlesser · 21/06/2024 18:17

I am a Tory voter, however am dismayed at the state of both the country and the Conservative Party. Would you agree that the One Nation Conservatives group have contributed majorly to the dismal state of the party at present.

SlowlyForward · 21/06/2024 18:19

Why do you think it is reasonable for so much of the world's wealth to be held by such a tiny number of people? Do you worry that we may be heading for a rerun of the French Revolution if redistributive taxation is not imposed globally in a collaboration between all governments?

PTG123 · 21/06/2024 18:21

Why do you feel it’s ok to give legitimacy to ableism? Your proposals to make adjustments to disability benefits have given a lot of angry, prejudiced people a voice which has had a hugely negative impact on people like myself. Why do you need to target some of the most vulnerable people in society?

Againname · 21/06/2024 18:29

Hi Rishi,

Would you end the false economy (austerity) approach?

Especially by commiting to a massive council housing build that provides for both families and the childless/child free, and to include the 'hidden older poor' (the 2 million over 50s private renters)?

So, ensuring everyone has decent affordable housing and saving the economy lots of money in reduced welfare benefits and NHS costs, because health, poverty, and housing are interlinked.

Thanks. From a genuinely undecided voter willing to consider all possible voting options (in a currently Conservative seat, that is predicted but not guaranteed to possibly change to Labour).

LyndaLaHughes · 21/06/2024 18:32

What would you do to fix the damage to Education? How will you stop teachers leaving?

AlwaysFreezing · 21/06/2024 18:41

So, you don't drive a normal car (had to borrow the petrol station workers).

You didn't know how to use your debit card (same day, smashing it into the covd screen, vaguely near the machine).

You don't know any working class people.

You're richer than the King.

Your constituents had their public swimming pool closed (austerity) whilst you had your own pool installed at home.

How can you relate to me or me to you? And how would you square these things with the idea that you know what's best for the country when the vast majority of the population don't earn enough a month to afford even one of your suits?

Afloatingvoter · 21/06/2024 18:44

Rishi,

Is there any point me asking a question given you will be out of office in two weeks time?

Prawncow · 21/06/2024 18:45

Are you going to take some time off before you start your new job?

Cheguevarahamster · 21/06/2024 18:52

Why do you insist on referring to the European Court of Human Rights (EHCR) as a foreign court when it is an international court?

Follow up. Do you intend to leave the EHCR if you are elected?

TawnyFae · 21/06/2024 18:52

What specifically will you do to get males who rape & abuse locked up & away from women & children?

JurassicClark · 21/06/2024 18:54

Have you enrolled your children in Californian schools already or are you waiting for July 5th so as not to look too obvious?

LoneWoolf · 21/06/2024 18:54

As your children have grown up, how have you and your wife explained the concerns around climate change?

EasternStandard · 21/06/2024 18:55

Why do you think Brexit is good for the UK and do you think we can achieve strong growth whilst out of the EU trading bloc?

Second question if I may, why did you call the election when you did?

VoteOutToHelpOut · 21/06/2024 18:58

Ed Davey has been raising the profile of the important work unpaid carers do. As an unpaid carer myself, what reasons can you give me to vote for you?

LadyKenya · 21/06/2024 19:00

No, it would be a waste of my time. He would only find a way to mention stopping the boats, as if immigrants are to blame for the tip this Country is in, and not 14 years of Tory total mismanagement, and corruption.

KathySeldon · 21/06/2024 19:02

Will the PM actually answer the questions, or just spout out his usual scripts deflecting from the actual question?

iamsoshocked · 21/06/2024 19:06

How important do you personally think the creative arts are, and do you think they should be encouraged in state schools? (music/art/theatre/dance etc)
