Beautiful signs of aging

Crows feet!

I love them. I think they make any face instantly more beautiful.

What are your favourite most beautiful signs of aging?

That’s lovely aulalliance

LunaTheCat · 19/10/2021 21:57

@Moonface123

You have that lovely internal glow because you know true beauty has absolutely nothing to do with looks. So you pay little attention to the ageing process.
That is beautiful. So many lovely things and lovely people to celebrate.

I’m SO tired of starting to read interesting threads only to see them derailed by another poster honing in one one seemingly un PC comment. It’s so fucking boring

I’m so tired of coming onto threads and seeing casual sexism continuously promoted by other women who are too dense to see what they are doing. It’s fucking boring

Is calling other women dense PC? Read the room flowers, no one wants to be pulled down by your faux offense we are too busy feeling uplifted. If you don't think that women uplifting each other and showing solidarity is a good thing then I suggest you move to the comments section of the daily mail. You'll love it there

I like the way my grey hairs are actually white. So much so that I can use a bog standard box of L'Oreal Preference and look like I've had those woven highlights!

I also love that the older I get, the less of a shit I give. I like being middle aged and when I hit my 70s, I plan on going full-on Iris Apfel.

@KoreyBay18 There is nothing to dislike about your stomach, it looks completely normal to me. I'm glad you've decided to stop hating it : )

Mermaidwaves · 20/10/2021 01:13

I've always hated my rosy cheeks but now I'm 40 they make me look healthy and less tired and I dont feel the need to wear makeup so much to cover them.

immersivereader · 20/10/2021 02:01

I couldn't give a hoot what men do Confused

Anyway, here's mine:

My previously baby face is now making me look younger than I am

My eyes have more wisdom so people take me more seriously (and don't tend to try and control me)

I'm actually slimmer than I was when I was 20 and look better now.

Don't even get me started in men who are at least over 40. I cannot find smooth skinned baby faced men attractive at all, give me one who has been around the block and back twice

Amen!
Kintsugi16 · 20/10/2021 08:03

Oh yes to older men.
I find it so sexy when DH pulls out his reading glasses. Especially when he then reads out the menu to me Grin

Delatron · 20/10/2021 08:48

Love older men. With stubble and bits of grey hair.

DH looks far better now than when I met him (annoyingly!!)
Definitely not in to smooth baby faced men!

dudsville · 20/10/2021 08:57

I miss my hands and feet, they used to be beautiful, but my body still looks and feels good, I LOVE my natural hair and I think my face is faring pretty OK. But mostly I love my age, I really feel I'm in the prime of my life. All the striving is over for me, I'll soon be retiring and I've been lucky.

peaceanddove · 20/10/2021 09:54

I love that my hands and wrists are starting to look thinner and more sinewy, I think it looks so elegant. And my nails always look immaculate nowadays because I have regular manicures - never had the time for them when our DDs were younger.

I treated myself to a full tummy tuck and muscle repair recently, which repaired all the damage caused by 2 hasty c-sections. My stomach is now flat and firm and my core muscles are properly engaged - which in turn has cured my back ache. I genuinely look better in a bikini than I did when I was 30!

FindingMeno · 20/10/2021 10:15

Actually it's weird but even though I was pretty enough when younger I was nothing special.
Now I'm older I feel I look bloody good.
I'm not going to go all faux modesty- I'm pretty and natural looking with no need to wear make up unless I feel like it.

This is how I feel.

I have a soft wobbly tummy but I wear a bikini and swim in the sea. I love my tummy now! It housed 4 babies. In my 20s I would have never worked a bikini. I love my changing curves. I'm a pear shape now but it's cool. I like it. 👍

My hair is wiry and going grey. I love the changes. Nature has seasons and so do we. Most of the time I don't even think if it. I think other people think about my hair more than I do!

My face looks softer, more expressive. I also look like my mum and that comforts me when I look in the mirror. The maternal line is incredible.

I love all my scars I've picked up on the way.

My hands look more slender and elegant.

Same here. I was averagely pretty when young. Now in my 50s, I've somehow become really good looking! Its partly having time to spend looking after myself with good self care, exercise and diet, partly natural changes to body shape and features, and maybe because the bar might be lower for my age group. Whatever, there is no way I'd go back to looking like my 20s self. I feel pretty and precious and fragile and special. Like a piece of vintage china! On a good day anyway!
5128gap · 20/10/2021 12:15

Ooh and feet! All those signs of the miles we've walked to see and do so many things. And the dancing we've done and the shoes we've worn.

Moll2020 · 20/10/2021 17:42

I’m now completely grey since ditching highlights when I was 45. I love it and have lots of compliments. My hair costs £25 for a dry cut every 5 weeks. Do it, embrace the grey!! Smile

venus22 · 20/10/2021 18:05
@brittleheadgirl I think your post is probably a little more offensive towards the others on this thread Confused

Sorry if I don’t find a thread where women list the normal signs of ageing as some kind of ‘power to women’ point. Do you think men do the same? Do they have threads listing why it’s ok to get older!?
It's not listing things that are O.K....it's listing beautiful signs of ageing. Rather different.

Tomasinabombadil · 20/10/2021 18:20

For the ladies here of all ages and hair colours and are contemplating ditching the hair dyes, and going ‘au natural’
there’s a fabulous FB group called Silver Vixens - Transitioning to grey.
Has helped me tremendously and given me confidence when I made the decision to stop colouring after 40 years.🙂

Late to the party but couldn’t agree more. Some people seem to make a hobby of trying to entrap posters in some unPC mental closet. So predictable and boring.

This is a lovely thread! Made my evening a bit happier!

@woodhill I thought I was the only Pahla B fan in the UK! She is barking mad but I find the endless commentary makes the whole painful business go faster and her weights workouts are actually pretty good! Give yourself a big hug!

Booboosweet · 20/10/2021 19:20

White pubes

goose1964 · 20/10/2021 19:39

My eyes, they used to be blue with good flecks but they're now a turquoise.

goose1964 · 20/10/2021 19:39

Gold not good.
