Beautiful signs of aging

Crows feet!

I love them. I think they make any face instantly more beautiful.

What are your favourite most beautiful signs of aging?

I love the way my face has changed, it’s more wrinkly but has so much more character.

Needsomethingtoread · 18/10/2021 07:06

My greying hair really suits my skin tone now unlike the warm blond/auburn I used to dye it.

Wedowonder · 18/10/2021 07:08

As soon as I read the title, crow's feet came to my mind too 😊

I don't have crows feet (I do have some strong forehead wrinkles though!)

PurpleSneakers · 18/10/2021 07:20

As I took my daughter for her first driving lesson today, I caught a glimpse of myself in the revision mirror - it was nice to see my laugh lines, they remind me of the passage of time, of the things I have achieved, that I have gone some distance in life.

Juancornetto · 18/10/2021 07:28

I had spots and rosacea for years, now I'm early 40's I have glowing clear skin. It's amazing to not feel the need to wear foundation. I'll take crows feet over spots any day

@Ionlydomassiveones

Some women really lighten up once the worry and anxiety of raising children is over. Nothing more lovely than a relaxed face and an easy laugh.
So true! I've now got a grown up dd and very easygoing teen ds, life is way less stressful and I get so much sleep and 'me time' I look way younger than I did when they were little Grin
brittleheadgirl · 18/10/2021 07:37
@Elieza raising kids doesn’t make women uptight or ‘ugly’.

Do you think the same about men?
Absolutely, dh is also glowing these days.
Your attitude is ridiculous Hmm

CatonMat · 18/10/2021 07:40

Absolutely prefer men with signs of ageing than smooth, boyband looks.

CookPassBabtridge · 18/10/2021 07:49

Love my crows feet and love my less plump face of youth, I like that it's more defined now despite weighing more. Don't get why thin celebs give themselves the podgy face even if it does iron out the wrinkles! It looks awful.

KoreyBay18 · 18/10/2021 07:52

I guess I got thinking about this last night because I was going through my skincare routine and I realised that my goal is really just for my skin to be drenched with moisture (I have stupidly dry skin). I don't actually care about preventing wrinkles. I think there is so much that is beautiful about an aging face.

I let the dye go a couple of years ago so it's gone platinum. I get nice comments on it. Is also much better condition now.

Spudlet · 18/10/2021 07:56

I needed this today too, it was my birthday on Saturday and I’m now clinging to my thirties by my fingernails… not loving it, to be honest Blush

I quite like the fine lines around my eyes that rock up when I smile though, I think they look kind.

ThePoetsWife · 18/10/2021 07:57

Came on to say I'm so much happier with my hair - ditched the dye two years ago and I find the grey tones and shades fascinating. It's in much better condition and goes with my skin so well that my face now glows.

ThePoetsWife · 18/10/2021 07:59

Oh I'm the sane re men - I fancy silver foxes with weathered looksWink

Pinkfairylights · 18/10/2021 07:59

I love my crows feet. And the dimple on my left cheek that o didn't know existed before Zoom meetings.

I love to see and hear older women laugh - proper full-on, embarrassment-free laughing out loud, with zero self-consciousness that teenagers and 20s/30s girls have.

My kids are mid/late teens and the worry is still there, but I can relax more fully now, I'm not on stand-by all the time. My dp says one of the things he loves about me is my ability to laugh without giving a shit if people around me think I'm wierd. What's wierd about finding joy in the world God I sound like the Sistine Chapel woman but I wasn't that impressed with it when I went

DarlingFell · 18/10/2021 08:21

I’ve always had an angular, defined face which now I’m 47 acts as excellent scaffolding. With the passage of time, my face has become softer and the angles less defined yet I wear it well and I still have my cheekbones and jawline. I have also put on a stone or two which really suits me. I wish I had known this in my 30s where I was always v strict with my diet thinking I had to be 8 stone to look good, I look better now!

Couldhavebeenme3 · 18/10/2021 08:23

I thought my silveriness was much worse than it actually is, I've been dying it for years as I wasn't really keen on my natural colour either. Lockdown meant I went way beyond my usual schedule, then I had to have it cut quite short (due to hopefully temporary age related problems which meant I can't reach to brush it or tie it up) and the peppery-ness actually compliments my natural colour. My hairdresser was a bit freaked out to chop it off but age has also given me the confidence to ask for what I want.

Coronilla · 18/10/2021 08:31

@CeeceeBloomingdale

Pure white hair and how my face looks more sculpted and cheek bones more defined as my skin has lost elasticity.
Ooh yes, I love having cheekbones too Grin
CommanderBurnham · 18/10/2021 08:34

I like the gravitas it gives me. People take me seriously.

I couldn't agree more! It's exhausting
LunaTheCat · 18/10/2021 09:01

This is lovely!
At 56 age is definitely showing.
I have always been good with sunscreen so don’t have age spots.
Have some crows feet - don’t worry me as much but I am starting to not like the fine vertical lines above top lip. I am trying good moisturiser and hyaluronic acid and try not to despair and head for the fillers.
I am a lot more adventurous with my clothes now than my younger self and love that!
I still have blonde hair and get it cut regularly - Covid allowing!

I’m so tired of coming onto threads and seeing casual sexism continuously promoted by other women who are too dense to see what they are doing. It’s fucking boring

grey12 · 18/10/2021 09:13

Somebody thought my grey streaks were made at the hairdresser Grin
