@Dontevernamechange

I wonder how much the collective productivity of the female workforce has declined in the last 2 days as we're all invested in this saga?
Grin Not at all. We're women: we're all dedicated multi-taskers.
1WayOrAnother2 · 03/08/2021 12:52

So many CF drivers (usually male ones) get away with arrogant and selfish behaviour.

It is so satisfying to see one get a little comeuppance!

Don't get bored and let him off op.

He should be towed!

UniversalAunt · 03/08/2021 12:58

Oh course, it’s a poser or rather ‘weekender’.
So we may expect him by Friday?

This just gets better.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 03/08/2021 12:59

Shameless place marking. I need to know how this ends!

What an entitled tosser.

Glumgal · 03/08/2021 13:04

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon is clearly working a lot harder than the rest of us today and will be coming back to find she has to start thread 5 in order to update us Grin

HalzTangz · 03/08/2021 13:06

I work in this trade, to clamp a vehicle the clamper must hol a valid and current clamping licence.
A vehicle parked on private property can be locked in, it can't be blocked in on public areas.
A vehicle parked on private land can be towed away a long as a written warning with towing date is placed on the vehicle. The OP could have placed a warning giving 24 hours notice and posted that warning picture on the Facebook post (as the car owner was on that post), if he then didn't collect the car the owner is legally permitted to remove the car

SeaShoreGalore · 03/08/2021 13:10

I would be so tempted to place a warning note as above, and get it towed!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 03/08/2021 13:14

@MaMelon

LaQueen’s husband was a dentist (shhh…) so I don’t think it’s him - unless he went for a career change Grin
haha, no he isn't, she worked at the dentist. He's some type of entre-prenewer or something (getting into the spirit of mis-spelling on this thread! Wink)

And @AtillatheHun - yeah, I think all her old threads (or at least posts) got pulled.

It's definitely getting to that point, isn't it!

My other option was to suggest that the FC would somehow need to access the track - maybe a small fire (too risky) or a dodgy tree that needed to be removed before it fell on some poor unsuspecting soul - and then FC would just move the car out the way in whatever manner they felt was required. Grin

😈 You’re terrible.

Do this OP. Clamp the CF
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/08/2021 13:29

The trouble with clamping is that it doesn't get rid of the nuisance; it ensures the nuisance is there for even longer.

I think the FC are probably going to be the answer in the end: the hoof-wanking bunglecunt's Ranger is blocking their access, and as far as I can make out they are entitled in law to shift it. (I am not pretending to be a lawyer, though.)

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 03/08/2021 13:32

No update since early this morning? I'm wondering of the OP has been told by the CF to stop.

BlackForestCake · 03/08/2021 13:32

Ooh, Ford Rangers have a "smart" battery charging system which is supposed to prolong battery life by keeping the battery only partially charged. There's a good chance that it's not going to start.

Now I know nothing about cars but I find it hard to believe that any modern vehicle would have a flat battery after being parked somewhere for four days.

MaMelon · 03/08/2021 13:32

My memory is like a sieve these days - but I knew there was a dentist in there somewhere! I remembered the lost BMW though, so there's hope for me yet Grin

Plenty of posts online about them losing charge overnight.
BlankTimes · 03/08/2021 13:33

Some good news whilst there's a small lull in action.

I nominated all of the threads for classics and MNHQ have said they'll add my request to the growing pile of nominations they've already received. Grin

Noshowlomo · 03/08/2021 13:34

I can’t believe it’s still there. Knob

ilovesushi · 03/08/2021 13:39

The legal aspect is so bizarre. There seems to be little protection of privately owned land from entitled trespassing CFs. Anything the op does is going to cost her time or money.

Can we open a sweepstake on how long he's going to leave it? His cheek knowns no bounds so it could be weeks!

How much do we bet that he will then ask OP if he can borrow some jump leads?!
Emilyontmoor · 03/08/2021 13:44

The would be “lauyer” has obviously never been near any actual legal proceedings since everyone in the justice system (except possibly the Home Office) has as a first priority to sort out issues like this with common sense and mediation. If that has not happened then any magistrates / judge will take a very dim view of the party that has not tried to resolve the dispute. First advice of actual lawyers would be if you can’t resolve the issue personally, go to mediation. It is very clear who has caused this problem and then failed to take the opportunities offered to resolve it. Indeed Mr Big Pull name dropper of the Beast is not likely to find empathy from the usual run of magistrates / judges who are probably not the target market for a Ranger and might just have a private drive.

Typing from your kitchen table lying armed with Google to try and intimidate OP simply suggests you need to really think about your social media behaviour……

Emilyontmoor · 03/08/2021 13:47

the usual run of magistrates / judges who are probably not the target market for a Ranger and might just have a private drive. They might also of course be empowered women…….

Oh please can our film have a epilogue where the runny yoghurt actually tries to take it to court and meets with a woman judge sporting a brooch of a small beast - Emma Thompson would do it…..

MadWithFootballToo · 03/08/2021 13:49

At this point I suggest towing his car to the car park opposite and leave him to get on with it. 🤣

1WayOrAnother2 · 03/08/2021 13:53

Usually on these threads there are two sides and you can see that each side is right in its own view. On this one the CF does not have anything going for him.

On one side he
-was warned not to park on a private drive
-was warned about the locked gate
-lied about how long he was leaving the car (longest 5 min ever)
-didn't knock and ask to be released on his return (even for his kids)
-left the car without explanation (for days)
-got in touch but offered no apology
-demanded a time of his choosing for gate-opening
-ignored OP's appointment and deliberately turned up at a time inconvenient for her.
-name-drops an Xfootballer in his note and in conversation with stranger
-thinks a Ford is a 'puller'

On the other side:
-OP warned him off her drive (but politely and she accepted his 5 min delay)
-OP locked the gate (insurance requires it and she did warn him first).

  • OP advertised for him on facebook. (He had disappeared.)
-OP did not arrange for someone else to open the gate for him when he arrived at the time he demanded. (I do approve of keeping open that opportunity for him to apologise. )
  • OP shared the story with us. (I'm not complaining about that - it has been a really helpful distraction for me while nursing a very poorly pup through his injury and two ops.)
MotherofTerriers · 03/08/2021 13:53

He wouldn't ask OP if he can borrow jump leads. He will tell her to go and get some, or tell her to liaise with the local garage
Or just stand there and ask her how she is going to fix this
