I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

I've just done day 3 at a new job. I'm exhausted, hormonal and can't see myself being ready to go into the next bit of training, even though I've got another full week of classroom based work before that. My confidence isn't great so I worry I'm not going to be good enough.
Someone have the worries for a bit?

NumbersStation · 22/01/2020 21:18

@LollipopViolet

Pass them here flower. I’ve got you for tonight.

You are good enough. Taking on a new job and training for it at the same time is daunting! You would not have got this position if they didn’t feel you were capable. So hold your head high.

As is, you are hormonal and ruddy hormones tell lies and play havoc with your sense of self sometimes.

You are fine. You really are. Smile

So sleep well. Everything will seem more manageable in the morning.

Night night flower 💐

Could I join again this eve? Turns out my daughter has a perforated ear drum. She's much better today & I'm feeling better now I know what was wrong with her.

However I'm still full of her horrid cold ( that's what sharing a bed with her for 2 nights does!) and my anxiety levels are rocketing. My mind goes to dark places when I feel unwell. That coupled with fairly persistent insomnia does not make a good combination for restful sleep!

Grrrrr, be gone you worries. Anyone up for having them tonight while I (hopefully) sleep? I'll repay the favour when I'm feeling better.

Thank you in advance to every single person who has added to this thread. Such power in numbers... x

NumbersStation · 22/01/2020 21:47

Hello again @maldivemoment

I’ve got you for now - and will share those worries out with @QueenOfIce who has a swanky worry pocket I’ve been told Wink. I only have a work rucksack Blush

Glad to hear your Dd has been seen to and hopefully tonight will be easier for you both.

Bit of a bugger that she has shared her cold, but pass your health anxiety to me. I will try to lessen the fear for you.

Insomnia is not fun. But hopefully by throwing your worries over this evening, it will take your insomnia away.

There there. Sweet dreams. Take whatever remedy works for you, fluff up your pillow, put a wee drink by the bed and hunker down.

We have you safe and unburdened tonight. We really do Flowers

maldivemoment · 22/01/2020 22:02

numbers your words have brought tears to my eyes. Shows you how fragile I'm feeling.

But they're happy tears. Thanks for such kindness. I already feel a little unburdened.

QueenOfIce · 22/01/2020 22:04

I'm here! Sorry I got carried away looking at garden gates..pink velvet bag is ready. It can take lots and cause it's pink it'll give them a lovely worry free pink tinge.

I hope you sleep well @maldivemoment and your dd feels better in the morning.

@LollipopViolet, everyone in a new job had to start somewhere and no one is 100% confident, you are doing the best you can and that is good enough. Rest easy I see Numbers has you covered.

😴

NumbersStation · 22/01/2020 22:13

It is ok to feel fragile. We have your worries so that you don’t break. x

NumbersStation · 22/01/2020 22:16

And remember, some of the most delicate fragile things have a strength that others can only dream of.

It’ll seem better with a sleep. Flowers

Evening/morning all - checking in for the night shift. Palpitations have kicked in big time ever since I went to bed and am now obsessing about them. I can't stop crying - I'm so sick of it all, the tiredness, the fear, the resignation.

Lollipop new jobs are so stressful, I can't remember ever starting one without feeling inadequacy and regret for a good while at the beginning.

NumbersStation · 23/01/2020 01:19

vinosaurus

Sorry to see that you are struggling this evening. Can I take a wee load off?

I love the calm soothing noises, but when they don’t work I listen to comedy stuff. Anything and everything. Am at work but come the morning I could be listening to the league of gentlemen or something.

If you can settle I will mind your ptsd for a while. I wish I could quieten the palpitations for you. Flowers

Vinosaurus · 23/01/2020 01:28

Thank you Numbers,** I'll gladly hand it over to you to mind for a while, I really thought I had a hold on things but it seems not. I'm going to try listening to an audiobook for a while, see if that can take my mind off things and hopefully then doze off.

NumbersStation · 23/01/2020 01:42

I’m back and fore here all night, so they are all safe with me.

It sounds as though you’ve had a rotten time of it - don’t beat yourself up for not having a hold of it yet.

PTSD is a hard load to bear - a friend is still suffering badly 6 years on following a dreadful incident at work. I’m also ex forces so I have seen the suffering up close.

Sending soothing thoughts your way. x

flirtingwith40 · 23/01/2020 01:51

This is such a beautiful thread. I haven't manage to read it all yet but I love the vibe.

Could I leave my insecurities here for a few hours, they're very loud tonight and I'm so tired.

NumbersStation · 23/01/2020 02:02

@flirtingwith40

Pile them onto me flower. Someone will no doubt be along to share the load but I’ve got you meantime.

I will hush your insecurities down and you can sleep undisturbed.

Night night flower 💐

QueenOfIce · 23/01/2020 02:12

Here to share the load @NumbersStation I hope everyone is sleeping soundly. Thanks

flirtingwith40 · 23/01/2020 02:14

Oh that made my eyes leak.
Thank you. Goodnight

QueenOfIce · 23/01/2020 02:16

Night night @flirtingwith40 nothing for you to worry about tonight. Sleep well!

NumbersStation · 23/01/2020 02:17

Thank you queen

Bless you and your swanky pink velvet worry bag x Flowers

QueenOfIce · 23/01/2020 02:18

It's a bottomless bag, worries and anxieties get lost in there so no need to have them back after tonight! Numbers has been brilliant on this thread!

NumbersStation · 23/01/2020 02:23

This is not just any swanky pink velvet worry bag...

Tis a QueenOfIce mary poppins stylee swanky pink velvet worry bag Smile

naomi what an absolutely beautiful thing you’ve created. I hope you are doing well Flowers

PamelaPeaches · 23/01/2020 02:27

Numbers - your tenderness is making my eyes leak too. Think it's made me realize that's been missing from my life these last few days. Really I have no big worries to pass over but I think I need to be kind to myself for the next few days after busy work week, grumpy DH, and a cold brewing. So thank you for your words in here xxxx

HannaYeah · 23/01/2020 02:32

I’m here and can share the load, too!

I have delicious leftover Thai food and can feed any worries that need minding, so they will be too content to plaque you.

Also, the mother cat will give them the eye, so they behave. She did it to a visiting dog tonight and he sat right down and didn’t get up again.

NumbersStation · 23/01/2020 02:38

@PamelaPeaches

Yes, you do need to be kind to yourself flower. Sometimes it all feels a bit of a grind and then something lovely or beautiful will happen and you are back on track. Smile

May rainbows gladden your heart soon. 🌈 🌈

I’m chilling listening to some Tibetan singing bowls and feel remarkably good with the world.

And may that cold come to nowt Smile

NumbersStation · 23/01/2020 02:39

@HannaYeah

Thank you!

You’ve just made me laugh! Smile 🐈

QueenOfIce · 23/01/2020 02:40

I love Tibetan singing bowls, my cats on the other hand just roll their eyes declare I'm woo and with a scathing look and flounce off. Gits.
