I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

I love this thread so much

HannaYeah · 17/12/2019 17:02

PH30B3 I have a few and I’m awake but would love if you’d take them for a few hours so I can breath and get myself together. Family issues.

iMatter · 17/12/2019 17:13

HannaYeah

I can look after them for you, no problem. Have a lovely sleep.

I love this thread ❤️

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/12/2019 18:25

I think this should be a permanent thread...

iMatter · 17/12/2019 18:55

I agree MrsTerryPratchett

Howmanysleepsnow · 17/12/2019 20:06

I can hold onto some if anyone needs it.

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/12/2019 20:43

Could someone take 'DD is having a hard time at school' for me. I'm tired.

dontforgettofloss · 17/12/2019 20:48

mrsterrypratchett consider it done.

dontforgettofloss · 17/12/2019 20:51

MrsTerryPratchett my Ds was having a hard time at school recently, hopefully it's been sorted now, so get some sleep and I'll keep hold of your worry about your DD

positiviteaplease · 17/12/2019 21:13

I'd love someone to mind mine please. All I want is to just forget about things and get a nice peaceful sleep. This thread is amazing.
Will never be able to have children, the future also doesn't look great and I'm just generally a bit miserable.

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 17/12/2019 21:21

positive I’ll mind your worries for you, lovely - wishing you a peaceful nights sleep free from you worries Flowers

2018SoFarSoGreat · 17/12/2019 21:26

I'm at work and everything is under control, for the moment, so give me your worries to hold for a few hours. You get some rest. Flowers

Lordfrontpaw · 17/12/2019 21:29

I don’t sleep much - about 4.5 hrs a night - so it will make a change to ponder other people’s worried for a change (and yes, things always seem worse lying down).

WifOfBif · 17/12/2019 21:31

What a beautiful thread.

Redcherries · 17/12/2019 21:32

This is a beautiful thread.

I’m hoping my glass of wine and lack of sleep last night will mean I can sleep tonight, I should have received news today that marked an end to a years worth of fighting but it’s been delayed until (hopefully) tomorrow. Not as serious as many posts but my own sleep stealer. I’d be happy to mind some sleep stealers for others if I’m up, maybe looking after someone else’s helps settle mine, especially as I’m so close.

MrsMozartMkII · 17/12/2019 21:33

I'll take some load tonight folks.

Just send it on over and you sleep easy tonight.

SeaViewBliss · 17/12/2019 21:38

I am having a bad bout of insomnia at the moment and I’m very tired.

This thread has me all teary.

Flowers @NaomiFromMilkShake hope you managed to get some rest last night.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 17/12/2019 21:43

@SeaViewBliss made me all teary too.

It is not raining here in SF. I shall take all of these worries with me on my afternoon walk. It is lovely and crisp outside, and all bustly with tourists and workers and shoppers. The tree is lit up in Union Square, the cable cars are rolling by. Your worries will be too busy gawping to have much to say. If they do pipe up, I shall shush them, never fear.

Sleep well, lovely people.

NaomiFromMilkShake · 17/12/2019 23:28

@seaViewBliss

I got about five and a half hours, I am in the construction industry, I break up Thursday and go back on the 6th. Could do without the chemo in the middle, but that makes it 75% of the way there.

If anyone needs to dump here tonight, feel free.

SeaViewBliss · 17/12/2019 23:31

I’m glad you’re on the last stretch of chemo. Although I’m sure it’s tough and feels like it’ll never end.

Here’s to a peaceful Christmas break for you and your loved ones.

HannaYeah · 18/12/2019 00:35

I’m here and fresh and will pick up anything you need to lay down so you can have some peace.

Just put a dish in the crockpot for a friend’s party tomorrow night so your worries will be soothed by cooking smells while I keep them.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/12/2019 00:44

Not as serious as many posts but my own sleep stealer.

I'd like to vote that no worry is too small for someone to take it for a while. In fact the little ones are easier to look after for someone else. And those tend to be the ones that snap my eyes open at 3am.

Trumpton · 18/12/2019 01:11

Take my worries please and hold them carefully . A third of the way through chemo, 2 operations since August , 2 beastly chest infections, 6 lots of antibiotics and waiting for my hair to come out .
I am so weary and unable to get more than 2 hours sleep at a time . GP let me have 7 mild sleeping tables that I am eeking out .
I know I will get through this but the worries keep piling up.
Some kind soul hold them for me and I will collect them in the morning . Please and thank you very much .

2018SoFarSoGreat · 18/12/2019 01:12

I've got them, @Trumpton. I've got you. Go sleep. I'll hold them until you are ready and rested. Flowers and a hug for you.
