I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

I’m also here to help out 2018. There’s enough of us to keep those worries under control for you. I hope you sleep well tonight.
Any more worries anyone needs to drop off for the night I’m happy to tuck them in with me and the cat for the night. Havelock will soon purr them into submission.

HannaYeah · 16/01/2020 00:04

I’m here, too!

Something big is happening tomorrow for my family. I could worry about it going well, but could someone else do that for me instead?

SamVimesFavouriteDragon · 16/01/2020 02:04

2018 that sounds horrible Thanks Hanna I've got that one, family worries are my specialty so that's all taken care of with me X

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/01/2020 02:42

Hana and 2018 looks like the Terry Pratchett squad is here to mind you. Sorry for your worries.

I shall be reading The Brothers Karamazov. I expect your worries will be asleep in no time!

Chocolatethief · 16/01/2020 02:52

Could someone look after mine please, found out on wednesday that my police casew I'll not be going ahead due to a witness saying that they do not remember so it wouldn't get through cps as the defense will use that to get them off, I had more chance if I hadn't mentioned them.

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/01/2020 15:36

Sorry I missed that Chocolate. I have it now if that helps.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 16/01/2020 18:20

I can't say how much your support meant to me lay night. I've carried worries and found some comfort know helping, but you all taking mine was incredible. I absolutely felt then lift. I slept. Deeply and soundly. Woke several times, remembered you were on the case, and slept again. Today I feel drained and empty, but calm.

Thank you all. From the bottom of my broken heart.

Today i shall rest but hope to be up to taking up a worry or two tomorrow.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 16/01/2020 18:21

Gawd. So many typos. Swollen eyes.

NumbersStation · 16/01/2020 19:39

I was around but couldn’t poat last night @2018SoFarSoGreat

The worry guardians who were on duty held your worries last night but it was your mum who held you as you slept. X

HannaYeah · 16/01/2020 23:21

Our big family thing went so well today and I didn’t worry at all. Have to wait now for news.

I’m home and warm and content tonight. I can happily mind your worries if you need me.

NaomifromMilshake · 16/01/2020 23:31

I am running on my last lot of steroids, so can take any worries for anyone who has any.

xx

NumbersStation · 16/01/2020 23:47

I am here but a bit sick. I can sit on some worries between coughing and the odd vomit. Goodnight all - if I drop off between worries, just tuck them under the pillow/mattress. And be careful not to succumb to menthol fumes. Envy

girlofthenorth · 17/01/2020 00:10

sorry you're sick numbers
2018 hope you sleep well tonight. I'm sorry , grief is hardThanks

I'll leave my worries again tonight if that's ok? I always sleep better knowing they are here. They are irritating me, and worrying about a flare up in a chronic condition isn't helping. I have triggered a new level in sickness at work too and this worries me. I think I need to get things in perspective before they run away and that's why I think they would be best left here tonight..

NumbersStation · 17/01/2020 00:14

I don’t do sick very well so intend to kick it into touch this weekend. It is insignificant compared to your worries @girlofthenorth

My sibling has a chronic illness so I understand. A bit of coughing and sick is nothing in the big scheme of things.

I’ve got you flower. Sleep well. 😴 💐

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 17/01/2020 00:35

I’m here so can give you some relief Numbers. You need to look after yourself in order to look after others.
There’s plenty of room for everyone’s worries tucked up in bed with me and the cat. He’s tucked into the small of my back purring away and doing his best to kick me out of his bed.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 17/01/2020 04:10

@NumbersStation i am awake too and am holding you with a bundle of empathy .

( I would go as far to say that sex is just a disaster in my marriage!)

BuddhaAtSea · 17/01/2020 05:12

I’m here. Grab an extra hour of sleep, I’ve got your worries Brew

loubieloo4 · 17/01/2020 06:34

Still awake, not a wink of sleep. Worrying that DH's (39) cancer is spreading even more whilst he is on a chemo break and that the life insurance are just trying to find a way not to pay out. The claim went in last August six months ago!

It's starting to get to the point where money will be an issue soon.

Can someone mind mine again whilst I try and get a couple of hours Thanks

BuddhaAtSea · 17/01/2020 06:41

@loubieloo4 I’ve got them! Sleep tight, I’ll watch over them.

NumbersStation · 17/01/2020 07:05

Thank you for my sleep - I managed 2 hours which at the moment is a treat. Smile

@loubieloo4

I am here too. My thoughts and best wishes go to you and your DH.

I hope the insurance company feels an immense amount of shame for adding to your troubles just now when they should be easing them for you. Flowers and a bosie for you x

girlofthenorth · 17/01/2020 09:10

Oh @NumbersStation that's rubbish.
@loubieloo4 I've got you too - try and get a bit of rest today .

2018SoFarSoGreat · 17/01/2020 21:26

@NumbersStation you comment re my mum holding me as I slept has stayed with me and given me such comfort. Thank you.

I can get back on duty, if needed. I'm a wee bit teary eyed, a bit down, but shall promise to hold your worries carefully, and to shush them if needed.

@loubieloo4 your worries deserve a whole posse of us, so I'll help out @girlofthenorth, @BuddhaAtSea and @NumbersStation. Between us we've got this. You go sleep. If you need a virtual cuddle, I'll send one your way. You deserve it.

NumbersStation · 17/01/2020 22:31

@2018SoFarSoGreat

Your mum has got you always. We are simply back up for the incidentals. We are by your side. Tears and dribbly nose and everything. x

@loubieloo4
the posse are waiting to ease you into slumber. We have got you if you need us Flowers

NaomifromMilshake · 19/01/2020 22:37

Checking in, I am post chemo, full of steroids and not sleeping.

Park 'em here, I will be checking in.

NumbersStation · 19/01/2020 22:47

Hope it is manageable for you naomi 💐

I’m wide awake (For now) so can assist if required.
