Next door's -thug- cat

Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

I would love a not cat. I suspect my 2 dogs would disagree.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/05/2019 10:30

TC miaowing outside front door this morning.
He's now decided to try and endear himself to me by playing with my boot laces.
I also think Lennie is really quite relaxed about him

Lenny is showing his belly. Vey relaxed! Does he allow smooches?

Bookworm4 · 14/05/2019 11:49

Accept that you have been chosen.

TheLongRider · 14/05/2019 14:48

Your going to have to have takeover talks with the NDN. If TC can persuade Sybil he's mostly harmless it'll be game over.

SecretWitch · 14/05/2019 15:06

I give you, Bella. Keeping a wary eye on the neighbour's pool party. Ready to report bad behaviour or a dropped hotdog.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/05/2019 15:06

I don't think Sybil would ever be persuaded...

I also rather like having laid back cats who can be picked up and cuddled without fearing for life and limb.

There is also another reason for not taking him on, with apologies for drip feeding.
We also get on well with NDN2 (other side) - except for the cat crap issue, so we've always asked NDN2 to spray our cats when they go into their garden which seems to have reduced the problem. Recently NDN2 has come to the (possibly misguided) conclusion that it is TC who is crapping in their garden so we are off the hook at the moment.

Oops forgot to post her sentry position

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/05/2019 16:43

So,
Another break in this afternoon. DW had insisted that TC couldn't get the back doors open enough to get in...
Sybil was already in so chasing him off the premises was swift.

10 minutes later at the front - TC has decided our car is his too.

Ah now Ted ( Father Dougal voice) that is Enticement/Entrapment/Enabling/Honey Trapping .

Your DH must've left the car boot open as a test unless TC can TWOK . Wink

Ribrabrob · 14/05/2019 22:48

He's just lovely, I really admire his determination. Shame you don't want him, but I do hope you continue to allow him as a guest Smile

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/05/2019 10:13

SecretWitch - I wonder if your poor neighbours had that uncomfortable 'hair prickling on the back of the neck' feeling...

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/05/2019 10:14

conclusion that it is TC who is crapping in their garden so we are off the hook at the moment

Poor TC! Talk about taking the rap!

Bookworm4 · 15/05/2019 14:08

Outrageous accusation!!
I think we need a 'TC is Innocent' campaign.

cakeandchampagne · 15/05/2019 14:16

That thug cat is beautiful! Since you have & like cats, have you considered trying to reform this cat?

SecretWitch · 15/05/2019 15:43

YetAnotherSpartacus They well may. She is a vigilant and covert spy..

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/05/2019 16:15

TC is relaxing on our patio again. Our boys are also around but ignoring him

He’s like the Bengal Tiger who came to tea on your latest pics Grumpy

Minkies11 · 15/05/2019 19:06

Would you dare tickle his tummy.......

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/05/2019 21:08

My Bengal likes a tummy rub. Try it and report back.

Mia184 · 15/05/2019 22:07

Maybe they aren’t ignoring him but have accepted him?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/05/2019 08:40

oooh Yes! Try a belly-rub! Try a one-handed one though so you can still type to report back to us in case the answer is 'no'.

TheLongRider · 16/05/2019 09:14

If he tries to do a belly rub, he'll need voice recognition software!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/05/2019 11:16

Update? Don't keep us hanging!

Fucksandflowers · 17/05/2019 15:08

Bucket of icy water straight over his head.
