Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

Basil!!! Naughty boy!

I think “is he neutered” is becoming this thread’s equivalent of ‘cancel the cheque’.

Ginmel · 14/08/2019 23:09

😂 I've never seen a cat's paws curl like that

TC looks so happy. I bet he's dreaming about the day he sleeps on your bed OP.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/08/2019 17:32

In case there was any doubt...
One neutered (and rather wanton) cat.

And just before that - I was sitting outside and this happened Shock.
Then the little sod jumped off and had a row with Lenny.

His campaign is edging closer to your open door 😉

sweetkitty · 15/08/2019 18:13

Thanks for all the new photos he is such a gorgeous boy. Is he an only cat? Maybe he is just looking for company?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/08/2019 19:18

Well he's an only cat but he lives with these.
It may be that he prefers the company in our house Grin

Any pics of TC & the pups? Cuteness overload, we might all faint 😻🐶

Ginmel · 16/08/2019 02:38

Can cats smell the scent of other cats on their owners? How do you they react?

Allergictoironing · 16/08/2019 07:26

Mine can definitely smell other cats & dogs on me, but they just have a good sniff then ignore it. That may be something to do with them being indoor only cats?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/08/2019 18:24

Awwwww TC does just want to be loved.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/08/2019 18:36

By popular request
TC with his doggy siblings this morning.
(TC had already been fed)

Good grief he actually went home?.

Possibly only because I was there? Grin

Well home is where the heart is.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/08/2019 19:30

Each and every one of those dogs has half an eye on TC because they know he is coveting their food ...

Ribrabrob · 17/08/2019 00:26

I love how TC gets fed first, he certainly rules the roost doesn't he Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/08/2019 00:42

Today I saw a (faux) fur collar thingie that goes round your cats neck and makes it look like a teeny lion.

Of course I thought "How ridiculous , dressing up a cat , how undignified" (though we used to put Christmas hats on the guinea-pigs for a photo)

I realise it is pure envy because my two wouldn't suit a tawney mane (they are black panthers)

But TC could pull it off . Along with several layers of muscle and skin if you were to try

(They're in The Range if you're tempred Grin )

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/08/2019 12:19

Just saw TC go to take his favourite spot under one of our patio chairs. He hadn't noticed that Lenny was sitting on the chair so as he went under, Lenny (with impeccable comedy timing) gave him a slap. TC leapt vertically in the air and legged it.
Go Lenny Grin.

Meanie Lenny! TC just wants lurve!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/08/2019 12:32

Hasn't stopped him relaxing by the greenhouse...

Poor TC 😿

It is funny though when cats leap vertically like Harrier jump jets Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/08/2019 12:40

Bliss in the sun!

Nonstopbuttmachine · 17/08/2019 12:52

Oh, he seems to have recovered from his trauma quite well. Has Lenny had some assertiveness training from Sybil?

Scruffalicious · 19/08/2019 10:22

Look at his paw-beans!
