Next door's -thug- cat

[Grumpyoldpersonwithcats]

Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.

I think your whole house just needs to submit, TC is King of all he surveys. He deserves admittance to your home purely due to his sheer bloody mindness.

TC is undoubtedly all of those things but he's also clever.
Raining today so no sign of him.
He did however try to break into both front and back yesterday .

I spent quite a long time in my bedroom before I noticed that all was not as it seemed. The black cat snoozing on my bed was not my own black cat (who had a magnificent bottlebrush tail, and extra toes) It was actually my NDN's black cat. My black and white cat didn't seem to mind at all.
He and my two coexisted in perfect harmony for several years. Other NDN (who didn't have any cats) regularly found all three of them asleep on her bed!
