Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

Can I remind you all that with the exception of the three or four successful (but very brief) incursions described above TC doesn't actually come in.

I will agree however that TC does indeed own our front and back gardens and all that exists therein. Hmm

Nonstopbuttmachine - your mention of 'The Others' has made me very very worried Shock.

This is the best thread ever!! Your guest has clearly laid out his intentions ! Grin

DobbyTheHouseElk
I agree, he is a very handsome chap - and he's bloody persistent Grin.

I love this thread. It needs to be in Classics. Off to nominate it, OP

CassandraCross · 16/07/2019 09:43

Agree Ginmel, the pictures of TC and Grumpy's commentary on his antics regularly brighten my day.

Ginmel · 16/07/2019 14:23

@Cassandracross be great if you and anyone else nominate the thread too. It's been awhile since a pet thread went in Classics, if ever.

CassandraCross · 16/07/2019 14:43

Done, Ginmel, fingers crossed for success.

Weezol · 16/07/2019 15:19

Nominated.

Ginmel · 16/07/2019 16:01

Thank you @Cassandracross and @weezol

I downloaded these three pics because it made me laugh so much

Just been woken up by a cat battle outside our bedroom window.
Bloody TC has this morning worked out how to get onto our first floor balcony - where he met a VERY bad tempered Karl.
Now we can't sleep with bedroom windows wide open....
Photos of him working out how to get down and exiting.

www.thebengalcatclub.com/rehoming--welfare.html

Still lots of bengals up for rehoming, if TC isn’t an ambassador for the breed I don’t know who is.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/07/2019 11:26

I don't understand, Grumpy. Elsewhere you are complaining that your own cats treat your house like a hotel, barely coming in except to eat, and here you have this poor and desperate waif with his paddy paws and pleading eyes going to inordinate lengths to break into your home for some love and affection and you complain about him!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/07/2019 11:39

YetAnotherSpartacus
I like complaining Grin.
Though being serious - getting on the balcony at night is a new thing for TC to do - and it really pissed off the normally docile Karl. This is just one step away from finding him on our bed...
What's next - breaking in through the roof?

My cats are forgiven by the way - this is written at the kitchen table with Basil asleep on a pile of paperwork and Sybil purring on my lap).

Next step is signing over the deeds to your house. He probably knows where the deeds are too and can forge your signature

Nonstopbuttmachine · 17/07/2019 12:26

😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm laughing with you not at you OP honestly.....

I love his smug little face! 😽. Did he abseil off the balcony? 😮

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/07/2019 12:48

I love his smug little face!

He's actually doing the whisker test to work out how much fat he needs to lose to squeeze through those railings ...

I have no doubt he will end up on your bed, Grumpy!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/07/2019 12:49

Did he abseil off the balcony?
He launched himself off the balcony onto the 6ft fence panel below and held on with his front paws.
For me the more interesting question is how did he get up there?
A previous generation of my cats used the bedroom window as their household ingress and egress point and did make their own way up onto the balcony (and the roof) - but none of my current four do.

OP posts:
Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/07/2019 12:56

Oh he'd already been through the railings - the photos above were him on his way out.
The attached are him and Karl having a very noisy spat (at 05.20) which woke me, DW and Lenny up. (Lenny just watched the entertainment from the window sill.)

One other photo from this morning - very poor quality for which I apologize - but this does actually show a flying TC Grin.

Did the fence survive after being hit by a flying TC? For such a non-sylph like creature he's remarkably athletic Grin

Mia184 · 17/07/2019 13:57

Grumpy you will soon wake up one fine morning and find TC sleeping next to you 😂

TremblingFanjo · 17/07/2019 14:03

You're going to need to reinforce that fence - he's a hefty lump to be landing on it from a height.

Weezol · 17/07/2019 14:46

You know ages ago when I said you'd find TC asleep on your pillow and you thought not?
