Next door's -thug- cat

Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

I had problems with my neighbours cat bullying my very sensitive rescue cat up until my sister stayed a few days with her dog. He barked at the cat everytime it came near my garden and must have terrified them as since then the cat seems to keep their distance from my house

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 22/07/2019 21:12

TC is currently rolling around like a loon (chasing his own tail) on one of our garden chairs.

My delightful idiot has never fully accepted that her tail is attached. Chases it, catches it and chomps down. Screams. It's been eight years now.

I think a true test of TCs stamina would be a couple of days of constant rain. He is very appealing - can you imagine that face all soggy with water dripping from his whiskers? You'd need a heart of stone to resist that.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/07/2019 10:30

The poor little kitten. Aww. He’s crying out for attention.

Last evening I was in my garden picking cat mint for my neighbours cat, giving him belly rubs. My cat was no where to be seen. Neighbours cat is BBF with mine, they normally are together. We are so lucky they love each other.

Nonstopbuttmachine · 23/07/2019 15:14

TC has upped his game now and is providing entertainment to make you feel guilty about rejecting/ejecting him.

That is one clever cat Shock

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/07/2019 14:41

It's the way his arse end is defying gravity in a couple of those photos.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 28/07/2019 12:45

More gravity defying arse moves this morning. Grin
He rolled off the table and looked very embarrassed shortly after this (and then he bit me).

This is him immediately afterwards (having jumped back on the table to attack me).

Face of an angel 😇
I don’t believe these attack stories at all 🤣

lou8519 · 28/07/2019 15:03

Sybil and basil ! Love it . Fawlty towers ? Smile

lou8519 · 28/07/2019 15:04

This thread has cheered me up today haven't stopped laughing x

CassandraCross · 28/07/2019 16:40

Grumpy you were bitten and attacked because under no circumstances is the witness to the humiliation of falling off the table allowed to go forth unscathed lest they make details of said humiliation public. It is a well known witness silencing technique, I now worry for your future as you have not adhered to the warning.....Grin 'twas nice knowing you!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/07/2019 17:44

Did you move the table?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 28/07/2019 18:39

lou8519 glad you're amused by TC's ongoing war of attrition.
Cassandra it was worse than that - I was not only a witness - but I also laughed at him Shock.
Dobby no - but you've given me an idea for when he's rolling on the table next time Grin.

Oh no Grumpy you laughed - you are on such dangerous ground now!

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/07/2019 20:27

“Then he bit me”

That’s the correct response, he’s read the manual.

llangennith · 28/07/2019 20:42

I ❤️ thug cat😊

diaryofthugcat · 28/07/2019 23:31

Dear diary,

I did it! Today Grumpy laughed at me. I knew Grumpy loved me. Granted I had to do a fake fall off a table for the laugh to happen and then I pretended to bite G after they laughed at me but gradually the walls are beginning to tumble down.

One small victorious paw forward.

Love

TC

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/07/2019 13:26

Dear TC (alias diaryofthugcat)

Oh dear. Since you have now recognised me from RL does this mean I have to ask Mumsnet to remove this thread? Shock

I would, cancel the chq and get your ducks in a row too.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 29/07/2019 14:01

But not LTB.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/07/2019 14:18

😹

Nonstopbuttmachine · 29/07/2019 16:26

Love his serious little face in the third photo after attacking you. Way to save your dignity, TC 😂

EgoAmigo · 29/07/2019 16:32

He is gorgeous Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/08/2019 04:50

Yesterday morning as I went out to call mine in, TC was waiting ready to storm the house and launched himself at the door the second it opened. I managed to shut the door before he got to it and a friend of DS1 who is staying asked why he wasn't allowed in? She was very surprised when we told her that TC wasn't actually our cat Grin.
