Next door's -thug- cat

Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

Further up thread MoreOfADogPerson suggested that it took a female (Sybil) to do anything.
Looking outside the window now I have to agree that my boy cats are completely useless.

Kitty kisses for Sybil!

Weezol · 05/06/2019 21:20

Does Sybil know that 10 Downing St will shortly have a vacancy? Pretty sure she could sort the country out!

Saw this and thought of TC Grin

Sybil vs. Larry?

prettybird · 06/06/2019 16:59

Loving these stories Smile

We have two young Siamese boys, who must be about the same age as a big black & white cat that we've seen them playing with in the back (and next door) garden. (Other cats get escorted off the premises and/or they retreat through the cat flap at speed into the house with their tails up).

The boys are called Frasier and Niles, so we've called the black and white cat Cam Winston Grin

We've finally found out where he comes from, although we've not met his slaves owners, so don't know his (or her Wink) real name.

We're also wondering if that's where the various squeaky toys that the boys have been bringing in come from (which they then proceed to "kill" Hmm). We do wonder how the squeaky toy on a fishing rod got through the cat flap Confused

YesQueen · 06/06/2019 17:35

@prettybird I bought one of those yeowww catnip banana toys. My cat was Confused meh, no like it
Neighbours 16yo cat, arthritis and walks at snail pace. Broke in to mine, stole the banana, carried it home like a dog and was found hissing at anyone who came near it Blush

Not much going on today (it has been raining),
but Basil did actually go out to half-heartedly swipe TC this evening. They are now exhibiting an uneasy truce.

What am I doing wrong no cats ever visit my house

Singlewhiteguineapig · 07/06/2019 20:50

So awkward 😂😂

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/06/2019 11:19

Any more action on the TC front?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 10/06/2019 12:35

Other than his general omnipresence, the fact that he now turns up whenever I call our cats, and his tendency to miaow outside our front door - no real change Grin.

No break through the Sybil barrier then? or excessively cute photos?

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/06/2019 14:39

Has he updated his chip details I wonder?.

We've just found out that our neighbours have acquired 2 x 6 month old Bengal cats (really good classic TV show pair of names - along the lines of our Frasier & Niles Grin).

But our two boys are apparently bullying them Shock - and after 2 years of being welcomed in the next garden, are now being squirted with water pistols Wink with our full permission

Our neighbour is also having to buy a chip operated cat flap as our boys are enjoying the extra food available (and bullying their cats in their own house Hmm

However, we don't think that is where they are acquiring their squeaky toys from Confused

Look at them - butter wouldn't melt in their mouths Grin

I can't see the photos! Don't make me unleash the Hound...

Is the hound available as a 'TC repellent for hire'?

OP posts:
GarthFunkel · 10/06/2019 21:46

PrettyBird give it 5 years - according to that rescue site- and the tide will turn.

MoreOfADogPerson · 10/06/2019 22:09

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats - his current flatulence state suggests that the Hound is a pretty effective all-round repellent at the moment.

prettybird · 11/06/2019 08:32

For some reason none of the photos posted yesterday are loading for me Confused, so I'll post my own butter wouldn't melt in their mouths photo again Wink

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/06/2019 09:01

I think TC may have discovered this thread and deliberately broken mumsnet in protest Shock.
