Next door's -thug- cat

Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

Well I can see the hound (on my mobile) and he appears to be staying put now Smile.

By popular demand.
Looked out of the kitchen window to discover TC and Karl sharing the car.

And 15 minutes later - 2 different cats (Basil and Lenny) are on the car.
I think they are playing mind games with me Shock.

Where was Sybil?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/06/2019 19:06

Sybil is inside but she's been in a funny mood today anyway - keeps yelling at me but she doesn't seem satisfied by anything I'm doing for her (could be because we have run out of Dreamies)

She's yelling at you 'oy idiot have you seen those dipshit boys making fools out of you?'

prettybird · 12/06/2019 14:00

MNHQ says the problem with photos has now been fixed but that photos posted while there was an issue might not show up.

So I'll post for the third time Wink the picture of my "butter wouldn't melt in their mouths" boys who couldn't possibly be terrorising the new Bengal pair next door Grin

Bengals vs Siamese.. stuff of nightmares (or a Pixar film!) 🙀🙀😹 Moominfan's beautiful but Phantom of the Opera-esque cat would be cast in the Dr Evil role Grin

TC as the evil genius (voiced by Charles Dance) with Sybil as the love interest?

Oh my god prettybird please can I have your beautiful cats?!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/06/2019 17:34

Possession of the car seems to be TC's modus operandi at present. He is being watched from our other car though.

This thread is hilarious because we have our own Bengal next door that we are all rightly terrified of.

If we try to shoo him away (because he is beating up on our two) he stands his ground and refuses to move. It's quite unnerving and rather awkward. I've tried to be scary, but he looks up at me as if to say 'really? You thought that would work? Pfft.'

When we go to our neighbours he acts like Mr Nice Cat and smooches up to us, lets us pat him and generally lulls us into a false sense of security. If we dare to pat him when his owner isn't there observing it's bloody arm time.

We thought his anger may be a reaction to the ridiculously undignified cat name (think Fatso, or Tubby, but not) he has been lumbered with, but clearly it is a Bengal thing. The thing is though, he is so beautiful and charismatic that it is hard not to love him.

I hope you are all okay...

He is trying to dare you to stroke his belly... ☺️

TheLongRider · 17/06/2019 17:18

That's very sociable behaviour from Basil. I assume there were no hostilities.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/06/2019 18:26

TC hissed at Basil after about a minute and Basil slunk away. (But all very low key).
TC stayed put until Sybil saw him off about 20 minutes later.
And we did have a stroke or two, but TC is very short tempered so only with great care while he wasn't looking Grin

Sybil appears to be getting used to him.

BTW, I‘m not sure whether I missed it but does TC always go home for a sleep & food or does he try to move in properly with you?
