To ask for a round up of all the little MN in-jokes?

I've been here some months now, and I've noticed a lot of little in-jokes around that come from old threads, some of which are in Classics, etc. Usually when I come across a reference that I don't recognize, someone is kind enough to explain it to me (and sometimes even link the original thread!) but I thought it might be nice, and kind of fun, to gather together as many as we can in one thread!

I'll start. The one that always sticks out to me is the one about the Mexican house thief. That's from this thread.

The other one that had me in absolute stitches was the saga of Sharon, the wasp, and the wine that never reached the carpet, which starts here, and apparently continues here with someone "t-rexing in the Asda"... Hysterical, I tell you.

I'm really hoping some long-time MNers will be along to link to such joys as "cancel the check"; "pom bears"; "Maui"; and the one where everyone MumsNetted as their toddlers :D

(I'm sorry if this is against some unwritten rule. It's not REALLY a thread about a thread, it's a thread about a lot of threads...)

There was a time when someone (maybe honeydragon ?) found out how to create hidden threads, and they didn't show up on active or search results or anywhere

And we spent several pages amused by our own cleverness, before MNHQ turned up asking "what the actual fuck is going on here then?"

And then honeydragon (if ''twas she) was forbidden from ever doing anything like that again, as it took Tech so long to fix.

Oh yes, HoneyDragon (if it was her, not sure) nearly broke MN with that one!!

I remember when Chaos first got her (in her words) twat phone, she was posting multiple posts. Not just two or three, because she couldn't see they'd posted, but in their 10s and 10s.

I remember one day I'd seen one of her posts, I'd gone out for a couple of hours, returned and the thread (totally innocuous) suddenly seemed to have 600+ posts. I asked what had happened and someone said "Fru, just have a look at Chaos's multiple posts on this thread!!!". There were pages and pages of the same post from Chaos. And then pages and pages of subsequent posts from Chaos saying, something along the lines of, "oh fuck, what's happening - I've got this stupid new twat phone".

Tbf MNHQ turned up because I didn't think it was fair to not share it with everyone by placing a link in a thread entitled ooooh everyone come here and look at this.

And still some dickheads turned up and complained it wasn't nice to have a secret thread

If I was mean I'd would've kept it a secret and invite only.

An underground secret Mumsnet within Mumsnet would've been cool though

That was the bizarre story MN clique accusation there's ever been.

Loved Chaos' Twat phone. Remember someone starting a thread asking if she was OK and to 'post once for yes, post 12 times for no'

The Olympic horses thread was in Chat I think and so disappeared. I managed to miss that one totally.

stunt pineapples was a favourite of mine, now in this house, whenever anything is brought out for show when guests come over it's known as stunt... towels, soap, candles, cushions etc. I seem to remember a rather marvellous washing up staging area too

I read a thread a while ago about the various odd ways elderly parents save money, and run their houses. I can't find it now. Any ideas which one it is? It was stonkingly good.
