To ask for a round up of all the little MN in-jokes?

I've been here some months now, and I've noticed a lot of little in-jokes around that come from old threads, some of which are in Classics, etc. Usually when I come across a reference that I don't recognize, someone is kind enough to explain it to me (and sometimes even link the original thread!) but I thought it might be nice, and kind of fun, to gather together as many as we can in one thread!

I'll start. The one that always sticks out to me is the one about the Mexican house thief. That's from this thread.

The other one that had me in absolute stitches was the saga of Sharon, the wasp, and the wine that never reached the carpet, which starts here, and apparently continues here with someone "t-rexing in the Asda"... Hysterical, I tell you.

I'm really hoping some long-time MNers will be along to link to such joys as "cancel the check"; "pom bears"; "Maui"; and the one where everyone MumsNetted as their toddlers :D

I wish I could but I can't remember the origins of the ofrs (oh fuck rucksack). It could have been from the ark building thread or the mn island or something else. I have fuzzy memories of that time due to serial non sleeping ds. Hopefully someone will enlighten you, but i do know you need one in case of an emergency - you an oh fuck situation. iyswim.

It was all to do with the zombie apocalypse and what plans and supplies people had in place to survive - or something like that!

It's obviously fuck off and not fuck odd, although there are some fuck odds in MN too.

I don't know/can't remember about the island and ark building, nor about whether the ZA was part of those or something separate.

I've been here 7 years, so it might have been before my time - or it might have been in my early days when I wasn't so attuned to in-jokes.

She had the piss ripped out of her then started demanding her posts be deleted, people told her to report to MNHQ and she ignored them and kept putting moire and more personal details on demanding the posts be removed,

I remember the ark seemed to involve a lot of gin being stashed on board.

I think the that was also the birth of IamtheZombie (RIP) when she decided to sneak in as one of the Zombies who had got lost and was now very confused.

The ark was the Ark Royal, it was being decommissioned and there was an idea that we could buy it between us for the ZA.

I COMPLETELY missed the island/ark building/zombie apocalypse...

Anyone remember (and this is going back years!) a young girl who pretended she was rich and would constantly go on about her "brand new golf GTI" and the boyfriend arriving at her mansion via helicopter etc etc ... that one was weird as hell.

Bother. I only ever knew one way to make blank posts and they've fixed it!

Mrs Jolly thread was deleted as it was outing. Basically I think the DP got assaulted and the police got involved.
