I'm going to be a grandfather! Woo hoo! They haven't tuppence to rub together, so there'll be 3 generations under one roof. Still, DD is doing well after the throwing stopped, he's working all the hours God sends, and with luck I shall see New Person into their teens, as opposed to my DF who got less than 7 years of DGF hood. Wish us luck.

This is a lovely thread. My beloved Grandad would have been 105 just before Christmas, - he didn't make that, but he did make 92 so was in my life until I was 36. I hope for at least the same length of relationship for your little chap.

Why is this thread not in classics? What a lovely family Bear

lougle · 19/02/2018 22:43

Oh it is! Well, good call Grin

speakfriendandenter · 19/02/2018 22:58

This thread is wonderful!
My beautiful daddy (Gaga to his grandchildren) has terminal cancer. We don't know how long he has yet but we are savouring all our moments with him. He adores his grandchildren, I'm expecting my third and this baby will know just how wonderful my dad is just like his other grandchildren do. You remind me of my dad. He was/is an amazing dad, but he was made to be a grandad! Your family is very lucky to have you. Thank you for the happy/lucky tears I am crying tonight x

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 20/02/2018 10:08

Oh speak. I'm so sorry. The best thing you can do is to take the children to see him as often as possible. They have no preconceptions, and my own DF was immensely cheered up by seeing the DGCs. Especially when DD nearly farted him to death. Sunlight through rain, eh?

Mm, dinner. Tomorrow I shall be six months old. I like Bolognese, snow, jumping, check shirts, being hung upside down, Melissa Fumero, laughing at Grandpa, farting and completely failing to look guilty, etc.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 09/03/2018 10:07

miniDisgrace you missed your hair! Could do better. 😂

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 09/03/2018 15:00

DD has a lovely turn of phrase for mealtimes: "Time to orange up, darling."😂😂😂

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 09/03/2018 21:34

She obviously gets it from you! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Why is most baby food orange? Confused

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 09/03/2018 23:22

Carrots, lots of carrots. Babies love carrots, DD certainly did to the extent her bum went yellow.

I'm sure she'll appreciate you telling us all that! 😂

TyrannosaurusBex · 10/03/2018 08:07

Just found this thread. You sound like a wonderful family - loving, tolerant and funny.

DustyOwl · 10/03/2018 08:57

I have been on MN for a long time and this is one of the most positive threads I have read. I, sadly, don't remember my grandads much however we lived with parents until DS1 was 18 months old. The bond they have now is amazing. DS1 and DS2 both love him to bits, he sounds a lot like you. My Dad is away at the moment, on an exotic holiday, and I know how much they are missing each other (no matter how much sunshine he is gettting!) Enjoy Smile

Full Metal Grandpa today, as poor DD has a migraine. I have entertained, fed, bathed, dressed, and DONE A POO. Right now he's snoring on my chest, the tramadol and caffeine are perfectly balanced, and if it wasn't for work I could stay here all day.

He has the devil's own appetite thoughbut. If he were my size, he would putting away 8 litres of fluid and 2 kilos of dry content daily.

7 months old today. 16 pounds+, 28 inches long, mostly fluffy blond. He wakes up happy, eats like a small horse, laughs like a drain at everything. Even hardened baby loathers think he's cute. However, note the size of his hands. Earlier today he got one over my mouth and nose at the same time, and he squeezed. That was... interesting.
