To clap my hands and skip about in a elephantine manner?

I'm going to be a grandfather! Woo hoo! They haven't tuppence to rub together, so there'll be 3 generations under one roof. Still, DD is doing well after the throwing stopped, he's working all the hours God sends, and with luck I shall see New Person into their teens, as opposed to my DF who got less than 7 years of DGF hood. Wish us luck.

He's adorable and I'm not a baby person.

Pannalash · 01/09/2017 12:15

He's gorgeous Disgrace are you all getting much sleep?

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 01/09/2017 12:26

Yes. Dad is putting in a stellar performance. He's taken 3 weeks off and is doing the night settling and expressed feeds. For a young guy not yet 21 he is just amazing. DD said that she's holding herself back from interfering, because he won't do the wrong thing but a different thing. He's quite an easy baby so far, he'll make a remark and then be quiet while stroked. Actually, I've yet to hear him in real distress.

But my god he's tiny! 6 3, the smallest baby I've ever held

So cute😍😍

OohLookASquirrel · 01/09/2017 12:35

He is a darling, bless him. I wish them all the luck in the world. It's hard having a family young, but it sounds like they have loads of support so are bound to do well. Congratulations to you and your DD

NatashaRomanov · 01/09/2017 12:38

I think this is about the loveliest thread I have read on mumsnet.
Congratulations to the new Mum and Dad, and to the obviously very proud Gandad!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 01/09/2017 13:11

Super pic, what a cherub.

blueonblue · 03/09/2017 02:30

You could eat that boy with a spoon. Those cheeks 💗

tiannah · 03/09/2017 02:59

This made me happy. Congratulations.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 03/09/2017 03:34

My darling Dad said before he died that one of the highlights of his life was holding DD2 just hours after she was born.

It is a very special bond OP. Thank you so much for sharing and reminding me of all that love.

TooGood2BeFalse · 03/09/2017 04:49

BikeRunSki · 03/09/2017 06:01

Congratulations Disgrace! Grin
My grandad retired around the time I was born and featured hugely in my childhood. I adored him. You sound wonderful, and very much like him.

Now - DS (8) thinks that he invented Bacon and Nutella sandwhiches at a Premier Inn breakfast buffet in Beverly last year. I don't eat meat, but he's got DH and DD into them too. Particularly good on a croissant I hear.

BikeRunSki · 03/09/2017 06:18

Please can we have this in Classics?

FruBayerischOla · 03/09/2017 06:23

He is sooo cute!

OohLookASquirrel · 03/09/2017 08:35

This is probably the most lovely and joyeous thread I have ever read on here. That little boy is exceptionally lucky.

Hassled · 03/09/2017 08:50

Oh this has warmed the cockles of my heart - how lovely. I'm a big fan of both bacon & peanut butter and bacon & maple syrup, but have never tried bacon & nutella. I feel that it'll work, and it'll work well. Enjoy your lovely grandson :).

Also - we need video evidence of you skipping in an elephantine manner, because I never thought elephants could skip and I want to see how it works.

This is the most wonderful thread I have ever seen on my nearly 10 years on MN. I've reported it and asked for it to be saved in Classics. It should be taken three times a day in times of sorrow. And in fact every day.,

BikeRunSki · 03/09/2017 09:29

We also need to know his name.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 03/09/2017 09:58

Gosh, never thought I'd be so entertaining. I'm afraid the elephantine skipping is out a)there are things you can't unsee b) if I cock it up the pin in my leg will go through my arse.
To avoid the page being grepped, he's named after the first two Stuarts and the current Cornwall. Please don't repeat it.
