This really gets my goat and I probably need to chill the fuck out but I find it so annoying!

Someone will post an AIBU e.g.
DD (9) has done X,Y & Z, I think she is old enough to know better DH disagrees and she is just a kid still WIBU?

Followed by a flood of posters - How old is DD? What age is your daughter? etc....

Sometimes the answer to the question is in the thread title FGS [facepalm]

Some threads are long, I get that but at least read the blinking OP before responding! AIBU and this is something I shouldn't care about?

OP posts:
LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 27/04/2017 13:13

I would settle for people actually reading the date before posting - some are so keen to give their valuable advice that they don't realise the thread is a zombie HmmGrin

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 27/04/2017 13:14

Hairspray Female? So you are gender restrictive ShockGrin

HairsprayBabe · 27/04/2017 13:15

Goat is biologically female, we don't believe in gender.

OP posts:
LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 27/04/2017 13:16

Are you keeping her name-free so that she can live her life under her own chosen name? Grin

HairsprayBabe · 27/04/2017 13:17

No DP wanted to name her after MIL but she really is an old goat and I didn't want to saddle her with any baggage.

OP posts:
SumThucker · 27/04/2017 13:21

Aah, a typical MIL bashing thread? I hope you don't speak about her like that in front of the sheep Sad

BBCNewsRave · 27/04/2017 13:23

Hairspray Goat is biologically female, we don't believe in gender.

TERF.

In fact that's why the goat's eating your turf - it's a cryptic insult.

I did RTFT and the OP and actually I think people do this in real life too. You say "I've tried A, B and C" and then they tell you to try B, and get huffy if you "dismiss" their suggestion. (See also: unhelpful advice to those with long-term illnesses.)

HairsprayBabe · 27/04/2017 13:27

That makes a lot of sense now BBC my lawn is ruined!

Sum We don't have sheep, lumping all Bovidae in as one is speciesist and you should be ashamed! I have reported your post!

OP posts:
GreenHillsSunnySkies · 27/04/2017 13:29

You shouldn't saddle a goat AT ALL with or without baggage. As for MIL, calling her an old goat is hardly the way to get her on side, but if she insisted on seeing her grand-Kid before she was 5 YANBU and I'd let DP deal with her.

TheDevilMadeMeDoIt · 27/04/2017 13:31

My goat was outside playing with her (probably - maybe a he, it hasn't expressed a preference) ball when I noticed s/he was limping. I went to look and s/he has a 12 inch gash on his/her leg and s/he is bleeding to death. What shall I do?

OMG. You let your goat play with a BALL? Don't you know that the latest advice from the British Goat Association is that you shouldn't let a goat play with a ball until it's at least 3 years 6 months 19 days and 7 hours old? And that the British Nannygoats Council doesn't think a goat should EVER play with a ball?

If that's how you treat her/him you shouldn't be keeping a goat. I'm going to report you to the RSPCG. Have my first Biscuit

Allthebestnamesareused · 27/04/2017 13:31

I might have missed it but how old was the daughter?

And how old was the goat?

HairsprayBabe · 27/04/2017 13:31

GreenHills
Grand-Kid Grin

OP posts:
Allthebestnamesareused · 27/04/2017 13:31

No is a full answer!

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 27/04/2017 13:34

If you saddle a goat, who rides her? She is a free animal Shock

HairsprayBabe · 27/04/2017 13:34

DD (9) sleeps in bed with DGoat (7&1/4) is this normal?

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 27/04/2017 13:34

Both seem happy with the arrangement!

OP posts:
LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 27/04/2017 13:36

Human children in the wild don't sleep alone so that's fine, as long as the goat doesn't drink or smoke

PicardsCombOver · 27/04/2017 13:37

I'm concerned about the amount of screen time the Op lets her goat have with her 60" flat screen. Do you actually spend time with your dg Op or is Cbeebies your Nanny?

DancingLedge · 27/04/2017 13:38

My alpaca is spirited, and is merely expressing themselves.

You're being ultra PFB about the goat. We prefer not to fuss about a bit of arterial bleeding: it was common when I was young.

Give your head a wobble.

Huldra · 27/04/2017 13:39

If you don't have room for a goat buy a herd of sheep.

Ginslinger · 27/04/2017 13:40

so where's the OP? I get so fed up of giving really helpful advice about keeping goats tethered and then they OP never comes back.

MummaMinnie · 27/04/2017 13:40

I don't know if it's already been asked, but how old is your goat?

thecatsarecrazy · 27/04/2017 13:42

Well I think your goat sounds ungrateful. Have you thought about learning sign language?

HairsprayBabe · 27/04/2017 13:43

Goat only smokes the occasional cuban.

DD is right handed but mainly writes with her left foot.

We don't have a telly actually, we weave our own lentils in the evening for fun, DGoat finds it hard with Xer hooves but she manages quite well really!

mylaptopismylapdog · 27/04/2017 13:43

If my experience is anything to go by going to North Carolina with a goat solves nothing.
