Meet jake, our lovely neighbourhood squirrel who has been in this tree since 6.30 am.
Wwyd?! I'm not sure ringing rspca or fire brigade is the answer.
We have 3 cats, but have kept them in, in hope he makes a bid for freedom!

Tell him 'the squirrel's dead.'

Are you actually being serious OP? It's a squirrel in a tree.

Do you get upset when you see ducks in water?

pudcat · 31/05/2016 06:44

Think he has emigrated. He is now on my bird table. Well this has brightened up the dreary day already.

KittyVonCatsworth · 31/05/2016 06:53

I hate red squirrels - grey ones I can handle, but red ones freak me out. I don't know why but I have reoccurring dreams about red ones being really evil going around killing grey squirrels, progressing to house pets and then plotting to kill humans.

Thankfully they're rare and I don't think it'll happen...unless it's a cunning ruse by the red squirrels and they're actually all holed up in some secret training camp getting prepared to take over the world.

I don't like dolphins or cockroaches for the same reason - I just don't trust them.

MajesticSeaFlapFlap · 31/05/2016 07:01

Squirrels are well hard, I once saw three squirrels take on a swan by the canal.
Twas savage

ReturnOfTheJewel · 31/05/2016 07:03

Any update OP?

Verticalvenetianblinds · 31/05/2016 07:32

He's still there and having a right go at the cats! They are being horrid tho, climbing halfway up the tree. I know he'd win! Its a strange chirrupy kind of noise! Will be going out with hosepipe if it carries on tho,its half term!

will be going out with hosepipe if it carries on tho, it's half term

Is that because you think he might stay there for a week when he would normally be in school? What on earth do you mean? This is hilarious. Grin

Hassled · 31/05/2016 08:01

Blimey - making a chirruping noise when it's clearly half-term - no wonder you're thinking about hosepipes. Now that's the very definition of unreasonable behaviour.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 31/05/2016 08:03

Let him be!
He's probably a trans squirrel who thinks he's a bird, so he's been chirruping to his mates.

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 31/05/2016 08:03

I love this thread. It's totally bonkers.

RhiWrites · 31/05/2016 08:07

I thought you liked Jake! Why are you planning to turn a hose pipe on him?

Is this nimbyism because he's in your tree?

Verticalvenetianblinds · 31/05/2016 08:19

Not my tree tho, just overhangs the boundary Grin
Its unsociable, I might get noise complaints, Jake and I are falling out over his disgraceful show for attention

Do you need me to visit OP?

Verticalvenetianblinds · 31/05/2016 08:28

I love this thread! The branch look very unsafe its a health and safety nightmare!

Verticalvenetianblinds · 31/05/2016 08:32

Hosepipe spray doesn't reach. Trying to work out if neighbours with power washer are awake or not. Kind of lurking in their drive (subtle)

OP posts:
Verticalvenetianblinds · 31/05/2016 09:00

Power washer acquired. Operation rid Jake the squirrel is on :)

OP posts:
Hassled · 31/05/2016 09:04

Yesterday you were concerned for Jake's welfare, and now today you're power-washing the fuck out of him. What happened overnight to change you so? It must have been traumatic, whatever it was. If you need to talk about it, you know we're all here for you.

MajesticSeaFlapFlap · 31/05/2016 09:06

You can't jet wash a squirrelShock

ButtfaceMiscreant · 31/05/2016 09:09

This is brilliant! Brightened up my morning no end!

Just make sure it isn't Secret Squirrel; if you maim/kill him you don't know what terrors might be unleashed

duckyneedsaclean · 31/05/2016 09:12

Leave it alone you odd ball.

pudcat · 31/05/2016 09:13

He could be guarding a nest of babies. Leave him alone.

sparechange · 31/05/2016 09:14

I know in your head, you have decided this is a male squirrel, but it could equally be a female with a nest of babies
And your stupid attempts to shake it from the tree, and therefore away from its babies could be stressing it out no end.

Nairsmellsbad · 31/05/2016 09:16

Quote of the day Majesticseaflapflap:
You can't jet wash a squirrel

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 31/05/2016 09:17

It's true, sorry, squirrel.
Leave him alone OP, just wave at him or her whenever he looks your way.

Also you will like s right lion with the jet wash in the rain today.
