AIBU to think that comprehension just isn't a strong point with some people.

I've noticed this quite a lot over the time I have on MN.

Referring to a recent thread re early retirement. The poster quite clearly stated that DH wanted to retire in 14 months (when mortgage paid) and wanted her to retire at the same time. She is 10 years his junior and works part time.

OK, first answer was "So he wants you both to retire in early forties"

Second response "Can you change to part time work"

I can understand this if we were 10 pages into the thread because we don't all have time to read all responses, but come on, the first two responses?

OP posts:

I find that limiting screen times for the retired folk around this way helps them to sleep.
Or you could try controlled crying.

andsmile · 29/09/2014 16:09

Try meal planning

Hexu2 · 29/09/2014 16:12

You have a vegetarian coming round for tea? just give them fish or chicken.

Vintagejazz · 29/09/2014 16:18

So anyway DP said to DF that if DGP are coming then maybe NDN and DS1 could arrive a bit later; however DSIL is not pleased with that as she wants DN to be included, so I told DS3's teacher that maybe DF's DS1 could wait for DS3..................

JessieMcJessie · 29/09/2014 16:49

OP, did you not consider that they might have a HIDDEN disability?

LookingThroughTheFog · 29/09/2014 16:53

But really, OP, how would you feel if you were the poor little girl you'd met one time, who wasn't at your Christmas Party not watching everyone else open their Smarties? You're very mean to neglect the child who wasn't there and probably doesn't even know you exist. You should have taken a different present from under the tree and dropped it in the place she wasn't standing in to include her.

I only change my sheets once a year.

Shockers · 29/09/2014 17:21

Spruce it up with a coat of Farrow & Ball Elephant's Penis. It's dark enough to cover the felt tip.
