The Weather on TV will be a LOT shorter.

We will only have to wait 5 minutes for the weather girl to get round to us, instead of the usual 15 minutes, while they go all round the houses Scotland etc. Grin

From the recent talk about us helping pay to police Calais due to the immigrant camps, I suspect they might happily hand it over without so much as a second thought Wink

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 14:58

I really don't think we want Calais though TBH.

TunipTheUnconquerable · 18/09/2014 14:59

According to the Daily Mail, Doncaster already belongs to Scotland.

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 14:59

Maybe we can let Scotland have Calais.

Genius!

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 15:00

Oh that is a GENIUS idea!

I'm loving giving problem areas to Scotland - like scottish outreach projects.

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 15:00
Grin

I was in Calais last week and this really made me laugh.

AuntieStella · 18/09/2014 15:00

We'll have to get used to saying Land's End to Marshall Meadows.

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 15:02

I'd love the irony of letting Scotland run parts of London.

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 15:03

God, they'd all end up like Mini Govern wouldn't they

Perhaps best not.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/09/2014 15:05

Oh, Lands End to Marshall Meadows would be much easier for the sponsored walkers and cyclists.

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 15:06

Maybe too easy, perhaps they should skirt the coast of Wales to make it worth the trip.

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 15:08

And include the Snowdon: the Highest Mountain in the UK!

nomdemere · 18/09/2014 15:11

I will be able to put up my UK map in that just-annoyingly-too-small space on the kitchen wall, by snipping off Scotland :)

badtime · 18/09/2014 15:13

The highest montain in NI is Slieve Donard.

There is already a four peaks and five peaks (including Carrauntoohil (sp?) in (the Republic of) Ireland).

onelastfling · 18/09/2014 15:13

I think I could manage Lands End to Marshall Meadows.
It sounds Doable.

We can have a new flag, which we can make more up-to-date by using Farrow and Ball colours.

FrankelandFilly · 18/09/2014 15:15

Did anyone see the episode of QI where a Scottish comedian said he'd been to a Burns Night Supper in Germany? The Address to the Haggis had been translated into German and if you translated it back into English, the line "Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!" Became "Mighty Fuhrer of the sausage people" Grin

onelastfling · 18/09/2014 15:15

The thought of a new flag makes me strangely excited Blush

But what could we put on it?

OP posts:
Didactylos · 18/09/2014 15:16

it finally solves the west lothian question

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 15:18

Isn't there supposed to be a verse in the national anthem that is anti-Scotland?
If not, Cameron might campaign to put one in.

FrankelandFilly · 18/09/2014 15:18

What about this one, it's like on of those magic eye posters

I don't actually know what the money situation is, I've not read into it, but Not having to fuck about with Scottish currency at work because you it has it's own section on the banking spreadsheet. That'll be good because I ALWAYS forget.

gingee · 18/09/2014 15:20

OMG I'm laughing so much at it being easier for sponsored walkers and cyclists ... Genius

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 15:21

Gin it's going to be even harder when they hand you a crate of whiskey to pay for stuff.

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 15:23

I think the flag should have

A red dragon for Wales
A hand for N. Ireland
And a cup of tea for England. But I could be swayed by a letter box. I'd like a bus but that's a bit Londoncentric.
