The Weather on TV will be a LOT shorter.

We will only have to wait 5 minutes for the weather girl to get round to us, instead of the usual 15 minutes, while they go all round the houses Scotland etc. Grin

Couldn't the dragon have whirling IOM legs.

I wouldn't say it in case it offends, but does its tongue look like a penis

Excellent effort Hester. Now translate into loom bands please.

thesnailandthewhale · 18/09/2014 21:05

The Duke of Edinburgh will need a new name :)

Suggestions heard on the radio earlier: The Prince formally known as ....

JillJ72 · 18/09/2014 21:14

.... Scotland will have a special place in our hearts (but not the fish people (Salmon(d) and Sturgeon). As other have said, foreign holidays on the doorstep and a winter ski destination to boot. Hopefully due to our lessened rainfall averages and foreign food (cos that's what it'll be), we will be their foreign holiday destination of choice.

HesterShaw · 18/09/2014 21:25

Not having actual children, I only recently found out what loom bands are. A whole flag of them would be beyond by skill set but I'm happy for someone else to give it a bash

HesterShaw · 18/09/2014 21:26

A PENIS? Good lord, woman.

EarthWindFire · 18/09/2014 21:27

Brilliant Hester.Grin

chantico · 18/09/2014 21:29

To include a couple of other regions on the flag, does the dragon need to be mounted simultaneously by an Irish Leprechaun and a Cornish Pixie?

beccajoh · 18/09/2014 21:32

Utter dimwit alert, but what's the black/white flag in the bottom left corner?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/09/2014 21:33

I think it is the Cornish flag, becca - and it's not a dimwit question - I only know because I looked it up,on Saturday when I saw one at the Last Night of the Proms.

OwlCapone · 18/09/2014 21:34

Probably better to have the dragon scoffing a pasty for Cornwall.

HesterShaw · 18/09/2014 21:34

Yes tis the cross of St Piran, the patron saint of tinners. The black is the earth and the white (or kind or metally coloured it should be) is the tin running through it.

beccajoh · 18/09/2014 21:34

And what about the Channel Islands? If we're including IoM then surely all the islands round about the British Isles should be represented? Could a busy-looking flag.

HesterShaw · 18/09/2014 21:35

Cornwall IS represented! It's got the flag on. No pasties or piskies needed.

OwlCapone · 18/09/2014 21:35

A silhouette of Bergerac?

OwlCapone · 18/09/2014 21:36

But no one knows the flag. Everyone recognises a pasty.

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 21:37

I like this one I found on google

No idea what it's for though!

HesterShaw · 18/09/2014 21:38

flag of Alderney
Flag of Guernsey
Flag of Jersey

Do we have Herm and Sark too?

HesterShaw · 18/09/2014 21:38

no one knows the flag?

ErrolTheDragon · 18/09/2014 21:41

I knew the Cornish flag - doesn't anyone who's holidayed in Cornwall?

The Channel Isles and Isle of Man don't need to figure do they, they're not part of the UK anyway.

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 21:43

I want to adopt a highland cow that may become dislodged and March down with the haggi

HesterShaw · 18/09/2014 21:44

Highland cows are the cutest things ever. Would a yes result mean they'd all have to repatriated though?

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 21:45

No. I'm going to keep them all on my haggis rehoming centre

ErrolTheDragon · 18/09/2014 21:47

My DD adores highland cows - she had a calendar with them on a couple of years ago, one a month.

No, any living south of the border can stay, on the same basis as other famous non-uk British Isles ones like Jerseys and Guernseys.
