Just spotted this on the M&S site. It's rather fugly but for fifty pence....

50p armchair

Got to be a mistake? Tempted to buy one and sell it on eBay .

Me too LittleMiss, I can already picture it in the corner of my bedroom with a little table next to it for books and a cup of tea and a huge throw over it. It's not going to happen is it? They're just working out how to let us down gently.

There is a message on their facebook page saying thanks for agreeing to deliver the 50p recliner.......

Oh sweet Jesus it looks like they're playing us at our own game and we're going to get it! Just finished work and was fully expecting to find a recliner decliner in my inbox but nope! Oh dear DH will be even less amused than he was last night!

The thank you message has just popped up on Facebook again.

I just rang the customer service number, but on my brittlest quivering voice and asked after my reclining chair.

Nah, I just rang and enquired what m&s were doing about these 50p chairs as I'd ordered two

The guy was very nice and asked his manager, who apparently said they hadn't decided yet. I only rang because I realised my phone number on their file was ancient. Wanted to give them a chance to contact me with delivery details

It's gone again already. I think they keep deleting it.

I want to see what they look like.

I really want the two I ordered and I will be gutted if they are cancelled.

Mark my words, innocent cakes will suffer. The aisles of Merry Hill M&S will echo to the sounds of pastry punching and sponge stamping if I don't get me recliners.

The facebook page is funny! Two separate people now talking about the chairs...

Just told dh his reply was
" oh my dad wants a recliner.i'll sell it him for £300 .00"

I think they are deleting comments about this as fast as possible.

A pity because they could run with this and say "hey we messed up but will donate 50 chairs to local charities as a goodwill gesture. We will of course be cancelling all orders at that price as it was clearly an error".

Have told them I will cancel if they wish me to,.....it was good fun but I never expected them to honour it. The law is on their side with this am sure.

I have issues with their dithering. I am still waiting a call back from M&S to explain why they emailed to say my card had expired (it hadn't) and to send new details (I did) and then duly take the same amount from both accounts. This was 5 weeks ago , it's only £2.80, but a refund or explanation would have been nice.
