Just spotted this on the M&S site. It's rather fugly but for fifty pence....

This thread made me laugh so much last night. Marking place, eagerly awaiting the delivery of fugly chairs to people braver (and hopefully with more space ) than I!

Mine still says "Despatching soon" but the seem to have had a problem with my debit card so may still yet decline.

Bank declined it first time.....although bank cannot tell me WHY they declined it, card active and all in credit etc.

Had a text from M&S this morning asking me to update payment details but when I go into the order it wont let me. Just wondering if I actually have the brass neck to phone customer services .

I was awake last night until 1am thinking if there was a way I could make it look a bit less fugly, as I've always wanted a recliner. Not sure that donating it to the old folk's home is the way to go since I only have one to donate. Imagine the furore it would cause in the day room if there was one recliner for the residents to scrap over. It'd be zimmer frames at dawn.

I have odered two, but whenever I have read of these situations, companies don't honour the orders. So I am fully expecting them not to. Will be a nice surprise if they do.

In the unlikely event of M&S honouring these orders I would be happy to change the delivery address on my order and donate them to anyone who genuinely wants the recliner.

They don't have to honour it as it's an invitation to treat.

However, by their own terms and conditions, once they debited payment and dispatched they've accepted your offer and there's a contract in place. They should be declining orders before debuting / dispatching if that's what they're intending on doing.

I just checked my email and saw a Marks refund one. I thought it was for the chairs. It turns out I ordered a bra to collect in store and forgot about it .
