Just spotted this on the M&S site. It's rather fugly but for fifty pence....

Got to be a mistake? Tempted to buy one and sell it on eBay .

They are late to the meeting because two senior manages have been sent to find Gavin as all anyone can hear in the warehouse are very quiet screams coming from an air vent. Their is also a gentle rattling as if someone is cowering.

Meanwhile, Brenda's gone down to HR to pull the intranet system and try and subdue Ann, and shut down her ebay account.

On the hotukdeals website, someone has written that they bought one for 40p with their staff discount!

There was a tweet on Twitter last night asking what had happened to the Richmond High Back chair and M&S replied that it was a mistake on their website and that she would not be charged.

However the Tweeter had not managed to place the order. So what happens to those of us who have dispatched status. And if they clearly know about the mistake and have not contacted any of us yet, what is going on do you think?

The one night I'm not on MN and what did I miss!?

This is hilarious - I have visions of MNers around the UK reclined on the fugly beasts, glass of wine in one hand, ipad in the other!

I would definitely have ordered 2 , one each for the DC for a couple of weeks until the novelty wore off (when they were little they were fascinated by a recliner that Mum has and used to argue over it all the time) , then donated them to the local hospice charity that I worked for.

There will be a stock picture of The Chair in the middle of the article, looking bereft and defunct at being sat in the warehouse still, rather than being sat on by a wine-quaffing Mumsnetter. :(

Well they've debited my card this morning....and delivery is set for 13th feb

I'll be impressed with marks if they honour it....even if they don't, it's been worth the laugh.

I can't tell if the money has gone from my account but it says it's despatching soon and that the order cannot now be amended!

I really wanted one of these! Even if it is ugly! It wouldn't let me order though.

I know a few people ordered 10, but were going to donate them to a care home. I hate it when people buy loads and then tell everyone that they are going to sell them on. On very/littlewoods yesterday they had a cotbed and set of drawers for £1 each and people were ordering loads and saying they were selling them for £50! Jut spoils it for others :(

My email says they will contact me within 2 days to arrange delivery, I might faint if they actually do!

I think there is a big meeting going on about how they can cancel the orders with minimum outrage!

They don't sit in the warehouse lolly, they are made to order, that is why the delivery date is 13th Feb.

Too late for me possibly just as well, can imagine DH's response to the arrival of two ugly massive recliners
